After the kids left with Prabha and Sanjeev, Everyone settled in the hall area. It was around 9:30 at night.
Sid:"Let's watch a movie or something "
Shruti:"That a great idea. It's been long since we all watched something together."
Rahul:"You kids enjoy. I am heading to my room. Today was tiring. Angali can you bring some medicine as well."
Angali:"you go ahead. I'll bring milk and medicine for you"(Angali and Rahul left leaving the 3 couples)
Sid:"Okay so let's head to the movie room. Preeti can you cook popcorn, until we will pick a movie "
Preeti:"Yep give me 2 mins"(the girls went to the kitchen to makes snack while the men settled in the mini movie room they had.)
In the kitchen...
Preeti set the popcorn in the microwave while Shruti set glass and cold drinks on the tray. Ahana took out some other snacks.
Shruti:"Soooo Ahana"
Ahana:"yeah Bhabhi?"
Shruti:"How are u?"
Ahana:(Confused) "I am fine? why?"
Shruti:"Well I feel something changed. When you and Neil left today afternoon, both of you were looking devastated as if you had a big fight or something, but when you came home both of you were looking like you got a new hope."
Ahana:"ah actually bhabhi..we...we"
Shruti:"Something did happen "(She said excitedly)
Ahana:(blushed)"yes. I..I told Neil that I love him"
Shruti:"Finally"
Preeti:"Wait. am I missing something. I mean I know that Ahana bhabhi was falling for Neil bhai, But when did she realize?"
Shruti:"you tell Ahana. "
Ahana:"Okay so..."(Ahana explained everything to Preeti)"And today at the park he said that he wants to give our relationship a chance"
Shruti:"Mom will be soo happy to hear this. I can't wait till tomorrow to tell her"
Preeti:(Laughs)"calm down bhabhi. It looking like you are gonna barge into Maa's room and tell her right now"
Shruti:"I would if dad was not there"
Ahana:"Bhabhi please don't "
Shruti:"How can I not Ahana. You don't know but Maa was your and Neil's biggest shipper"(Ahana and Preeti laughed as they all headed to the movie room.)
In the movie room...
Ahana and the girls entered to see sid sitting on the side sofa scrolling through Netflix to see a movie while Rohan and Neil sat on the long middle sofa laughing at something. There were pillow and blanket already present at the seats. The girls put the snacks in the middle. Preeti went and sat next to Sid as he kept his arms around her while his eyes still searching for a good movie to watch. Shruti sat next to Rohan who smiled as pulled her into his embrace. On the other hand Ahana looked for a place to sit. She looked at Neil who smiled at her and asked her to sit next to him. She smiled and nodded as she sat next to him on the sofa.
Sid:"Okay guys I am tired. For the past 20 min I am searching for a movie but can't find any you all suggest"
Preeti:"What about notebook"
Shruti:"Nah what about dilwale( Indian flim)"
Rohan:"do a romcom"
They kept throwing random suggestions between hindi and English movies.
Neil:"there is a good korean movie..something like train to Busan or something "
Rohan:"No..how ab"
Sid:"Okay stop"(He yelled in frustration making Ahana laugh while Neil looks at her with a amusing smile )"If we try to pick a movie ourselves we will sit here till morning fighting. I have a idea."(Everyone looks forward as he goes to the search bar and searched best movies on Netflix. He went on image and random movie images popped up.)"Okay so I'll close my eyes and randomly scroll to one movie. What ever movie it lands on we are watching it no matter what. Okay"
Everyone nodded. Sid closed his eyes and scrolled through the images while everyone looked at the big screen in front of them seeing what movie they might land on. After few seconds the mouse stopped on one movie. Ahana eyes widen as she looked at the screen. Insidious. A horror movie.
Ahana:"Shoot"(She said under her breath)
Rohan:"A horror movie "
Preeti:"I am in"(She said excitedly while Sid smiled. He knew her love for horror movies)
Shruti:"I guess there is no turning back now"
Neil:"Guys let's watch something else."
Sid:"But bhai"
Neil:"Sid, Ahana can't watch horror you know that"
Sid:"Oh Bhabhi..Sorry we will pick something else."
Ahana:(She sighs looking at everyone face)" No it's okay. we decided beforehand only that we would watch whatever it landed on. Plus everyone is okay with it. I don't want to spoil it. I'll be fine."
Neil:"But Ahana"
Ahana:(Holding his hands)"I'll be fine Neil. (She whispered)"And don't worry I won't disturb your sleep at night like last time"
Neil:"Oh I don't mind that. Actually I kinda enjoyed it"(He said winking at her while her eyes widen)
Preeti:"Bhabhi you sure right"
Ahana:"Ye..yeah..play it"(sid dims the light and play the movie)
Before the movie started Ahana got a text on her phone from Prabha. She opened the text to see a picture of the 3 kids sleep peacefully. Ahana smiled showing the pic to Neil before texting good night to her mom.
The movie started to a loud screeching sound making everyone jump as the title came on the screen. As the movie finally started Ahana took the pillow next to her and kept on her chest ready to hide her face when needed. Neil look at Ahana. Ahana and him were sharing a blanket which rested on their laps. Neil kept his hands on her shoulder and pulled her closer into his chest. She looked at him eyes widen. Before she can say anything, Neil wrapped the blanket around them and smiled at her before looking straight st the screen. Ahana blushed as she looked at the screen.
The movie was great. Yes there were multiple jump scares and multiple scary scenes in which Ahana hid her face in Neil's chest. But overall the story was interesting. The movie ended one a cliffhanger making them want to watch the second movie in the series.
Sid:"What yaar. Now I wanna watch the second one. "
Preeti:"I feel the dad is stuck in the other world"
Shruti:"Ahana you fine?"(As asked Ahana who sat straight)
Ahana:"Yeah perfectly fine"(She said sighing. She knew that tonight will be hard. Whenever she closed her eyes the red monster face came in her head.)
Rohan:"It 2 in the morning we can watch the other movies in the series later let's head to bed."
Shruti:"Yeah"(Rohan stood up and held Shruti hands heading to their room. )
Preeti:"Bhabhi let's leave all this here. We can clean up tomorrow. I'll just put the drinks in the fridge "
Sid and Preeti also left leaving Neil and Ahana in the room. Neil switched the projector off and turned the light off. As the room filled with darkness, fear started to arise in Ahana. Just as she was about to call for Neil she felt a hand intertwine with hers. She jumped and but relaxed hearing Neil's voice.
Neil:"Hey...it's okay..it's just me"
Ahana:"Hmm"(She nodded coming closer to Neil as they walked out of the room towards their room)
As they walked to their room, Ahana looked at their hands intertwined. She felt a very different warmth. She felt like her life was finally becoming what she dreamed of all her life.
As they entered their room, Neil turned the light on and closed the door. They both changed into sleeping clothes. Ahana and Neil layed on their respective side of the bed. Neil turned the light of as Ahana wished him good night and layed down with her back facing him.
Ahana:(In her mind)"Okay Ahana breath. It's all okay. No monster is real. It's just a movie. (She closed her yes and the monsters face came in front of her. She opened her eyes again) Oh lord. Ahana think something else. Kids...think about kids..or about Neil..or..think about chocolates or..or.."(She kept debating within her head trying to take her mind of the movie when she felt a arms wrap around her waist pulling her back.)
Neil looked at Ahana's back. He could feel Ahana trying to calm herself down. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
Neil:(To himself)"Common Neil you can do it. You have to move forward. Just relax. She deserves love. She deserves everything. Let's just relax and go for it."
He moves a little closer and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her back. Her back hit his front while his breath hit her neck giving her goosebumps. All her thoughts went out the window as a new sensation filled her mind.
Ahana:"A..N..Neil?"
Neil:(Whispered)"Shhhh don't think much just sleep"
Ahana didn't have the courage to say something else. She kept her free hand on top of his hand which sat on her stomach. Her heart was beating faster. She soon felt Neil's breathing even out explaining to her that he slept. She slowly rubbed her thumb on his hand as she herself fell into deep slumber.
Next morning...
Ahana opened her eyes as the sun hit her face. She felt a hand on a waist and realized her position. Ahana's head layed on Neil's chest while their legs were tangled. Neil's one hand was on her waist holding her closer while his other hand layed on her hand that was on his stomach. Ahana cheeks grew red seeing this. She looked up to see Neil fast asleep. Her hands automatically moved to his face as she traced his jawline. She moved a little forward upwards and brought her lips to his forehead giving him a forehead kiss before moving back and looking at him.
Neil:(Still with his eyes closed)"Take a picture, it will last longer"
Ahana's eyes widen as Neil opened his eyes and gives her a beautiful smile. Ahana moved back and tried to get up, but Neil held her hand.
Ahana:"Neil..b..bathroom...please "(Neil let go of her hand as she ran to the bathroom and close the door.)
Neil laughed sitting up as he ruffled his hair looking at the door. Man he felt like everything in his life was finally getting better.
While in the Washroom....
Ahana closed the door as she leaned against it smiling. She would have never thought that a day like this would come in her life. She was truly happy. She had everything she ever wished for. She had her family. She had her kids. And most importantly now she even had Neil with her. She looked at the mirror, at her reflection. She saw herself as the girl she was in college. The happiness and smile that reached her eyes. it's been year since this has happened. All she hoped now was that nothing destroyed this happiness of hers. She wouldn't let anything or anyone destroy what she has. No one.
