Tate POV
"So, you're going to a park with Nika," Ava says, throwing my phone at me.
"Huh?" I open my phone, reading the texts between Nika and what was supposed to be me.
"Paige kinda ruined your moment earlier, I thought I try and fix it," Ava shrugged, my mouth wide open with disbelief.
"Ava, you can't be serious?" All that I could manage to get out. Honestly, she was lowkey getting on my nerves.
"Are you mad at me?" She acts as if she didn't just set up another date without me knowing.
I run my hands through my hair, "I'm not mad, but...why are you throwing yourself in my love life. Like, yeah, you're trying to help but..." I pause, looking at Ava's face contorting with feelings I can't quite pin-point.
"But what?" She moves her hands to her hips, "Not like you're going to do it yourself. If I was to leave you to it, you'd end up ghosting Nika and avoiding her."
" I wouldn't do that," I stand up from the couch, going to throw something comfortable and warm.
"Really? You think you would actually be able to keep talking to her without me?" She asked following me to my room, what was her problem.
"I don't know why you think I can't talk to people, like, anytime I try to start something with someone, you always do this," I say pulling out a large hoodie.
She huffs, "And when exactly is that? You haven't actually tried to talk to someone since...since...I don't even know when. And that's because you don't talk to anyone," her hands waving frantically around.
A small chuckle leaves my lips, "Okay and?"
"That means I don't bud into your love life, but I am now," She pauses, sitting down on my bed, "I just want you to find the right person, and Nika fits it."
I finally turn around, looking her in the eyes, "Huh?"
"Nika really likes you, it shows. I don't want you to miss things up," She sighs, I sit beside her.
"Listen," I say, putting my hair into a ponytail, "I appreciate that a lot, but I need you to give me some space to set things up. I'm not gonna ghost her, surprisingly, I really, REALLY, like her. I'm not gonna mess this up, I promise."
She grabs my hand, "Well, you should probably start heading out, you don't wanna miss your date."
I nod, "Alright, here I go, alone with Nika, at a park, it can't be that bad."
"Nope, now go," I go to head out when Ava yells something, "And I'm sorry for smothering you with all this."
"You're all good, just give me time, is all I ask. I'll eventually get all of this dating stuff down," She nods, pulling me into a hug.
"Alright now go, actually," She pushes me, I give her a small smile.

Nika POV
She was definitely standing me up, I had to have freaked her out. Was I too touchy, was I pushy with the little challenge thing. I had screwed this up.
My mind was racing as I sat on a bench in the park Tate and I were supposed to meet up. My palms sweaty, something that almost never happens, I'm usually more calm around girls or even guys. I wait there, its only a couple of minutes, I watch my phone, checking the time every-so-often.
7 minutes pass what we had planned, maybe I shouldn't wait. I go to stand up, collecting myself, when my phone vibrated.
Tate: I'm so sorry I'm late, I honestly just got caught up in something
Nika: It's good, where are you?
Tate: Pulling in now to the parking lot now
I put my phone away, walking closer to the parking lot. Okay, maybe I haven't ran her off.
"Oh my god, I'm so, so, so sorry. Me and Ava, well, we kinda started fighting and, and," She paused, fidgeting with her fingernails.
"Hey, it's all good, things happen," Awkward silence fills between us, I shuffle on my feet.
"Umm, so, you wanna go for a walk?" She asked, her voice wavering a bit.
"Yeah, that sounds cool," I follow her as she begins to walk, "If you don't mind me asking, why were you and Ava fighting?"
Her face rushes red, "Oh, um, she kinda sent you a text from my phone. I mean, it kinda helped us end up here."
I laugh, "I knew it wasn't you. The emojis gave it away."
She smiles, her smiles is beautiful, she turns back to face in front of her. My eyes never leaving her.
"Can I tell you something?" I ask, stopping, grabbing her hand in the process.
"Uh, sure," She was cute when she was confused, her face scrunches up, it's another thing to add to the list of things to like about her.
"You're beautiful."
"Nika."
"Yes, pretty girl."
"I think you're the most gorgeous person I have ever laid eyes on."
Blush creeps up on my face, "Oh."
"Was that weird, god, sorry," She palms her face, trying to walk away from me.
I grab a hold of her hand, pulling her back towards me, "Hey, don't hit that beautiful face of yours. Also, it wasn't weird, I liked it."
"Ya know, if you don't stop being so nice to me, I might just have to kiss you," I'm taken aback a little, that was the most confidence I've seen her have in the last two days.
"So, imma be nothing but nice to you if it means I get to kiss those pretty lips of yours," Her being a couple inches shorter than me, she looks up at me. I hadn't realized how close we were actually standing.
"Pretty? You just can't stop yourself from saying that word can you?"
"Nope, not when I'm around the person who pretty much is the definition of it."
I pull her even closer, grabbing a hold of her waist. This felt right, so did the little moment in the movie theater, the moments at dinner or even lunch. It was just right. She slides her arms around my neck, hands playing with strands of my ponytail.
"I wanna kiss you so bad," She says bluntly, her eyes not leaving mine. Those hazel eyes, they were by far the most compelling part about her. Her eyes said everything she was feeling, right now it was nothing but want.
"Do it."
She finally breaks eye contact, "I would, but...I..."
"You what, Ta?"
"I don't know how, I've never done anything before," I feel her start to pull away, I stop her.
"Hey, that's okay," I rub her circles into her waist, "It's not hard, just let it happen."
"Maybe we should wait, ya know," Her eyes still haven't made their way back to mine, I lift one of my hands to take her chin in my hand, moving her face to look her straight in the eyes.
"What are you so worried about?"
"I don't want it to be bad."
"It won't be, okay?"
"Okay."
With that, I lean in. Taking her somewhat by surprise, which she eventually leans into it. Are lips move together like they were meant to be. A puzzle piece finding it's spot in the almost complete puzzle. She was made for me.
I pulled away, allowing us both to just sit with what happened. I rest my forehead against hers, a smile finding it's way on my face.
"Wow."
"Yeah, wow."

Tate POV
I had never wanted to kiss someone so bad like I did in this moment. But once her lips collided, it was something I had never expected. The feel of her soft lips on mine, I never wanted it to end. But she pulls away, resting her forehead against mine.
"Wow," Is all I managed to say.
"Yeah, wow."
Standing there in comfortable silence, well until her phone went off.
"It's Paige," She said pulling out her phone with one hand, the other resting on my waist.
"Is something wrong?"
"Nah, she just asking when I'm bringing the food back," I look up at her.
"Oh, do you need to bring it now or do you still have time to hangout?" I feel my cheeks blush, seeing her smile down at me made me weak.
"I was gonna ask if you wanted to come with me. Maybe grab the team food, us some food, than head back to my place. We could watch a movie or something?" She seemed so flustered, it was cute.
"You're cute."
"Hey, I'm not cute, I'm hot."
"You're that too," the look on her face was priceless, "I would love to watch a movie with you, again."
A smirk takes place on her face, "Nice, you wanna drive or me?"
"Mmmm, you. You gotta order the whole teams food," She shrugs.
"You right," She starts to walk, but stops in her tracks, "I wanna hold your hand, if that's alright?"
I nod my head, Oh my god, "I would never no to you, beautiful."
"C'mon pretty girl," She fits her hand into mine, it's almost like a puzzle piece, "Let's go get some food."
I smile, following behind her as she lead us to her car. I'm completely falling in love with her, oh god.

Also, some of y'all actually saved my Nika playlist, thanks for that by the way. you guys enjoy, cause I literally listen to nothing but that playlist at the moment.
Anyways....
Peace y'all, 'til the next one
