Shaurya
The club lights flashed repeatedly as the ground shook with pulsating music. People dance joyously to the electric pop song playing as the walls vibrate intensely. I take a long sip from my drink, curiously studying the dance floor.
"Looking for your next meal?" I hear a devious snicker behind me. Rolling my eyes, I turn my head towards my best friend Nathan as he wriggles his eyebrows at me.
"Something like that," I cooly replied. "Ah," Nathan speaks out. "What is it going to be? A brunette? Blonde?" He whispers into my ear. "Or a new flavor?"
"Dude," I laugh. "You need to chill."
Nathan shakes his head, chuckling to himself as he spins the straw in his drink. "C'mon, Shaurya. Don't be such a wuss." His cool blue eyes look at me playfully as he punches my shoulder. "Keep looking for your meal while I go look for mine," Nathan winks at me and disappears into the dancing crowd.
Sighing exasperatedly, I take another long sip from my drink, squinting my eyes and groaning at the strong taste. I recently broke up with my long term girlfriend Lexie, and now I guess it is safe to say that I need a rebound. But no, Shaurya... not a rebound...
Now I want a challenge, someone that keeps me on the tips of my toes and wants me longing for more and more.
Someone that makes me desire more than ever.
I know it sounds crazy, I know it does. But I'm tired of the same old girls that I only date for a couple of weeks. I want someone that is unexpected and has the craziest twists and curves that come along with her.
As I continue to study the dance floor, I see a huge crowd of girls dancing along to the music, squealing with each other as they take tons of pictures and act like basic white girls. I groan to myself. Definitely not my type anymore.
I feel a light tap on my shoulder and I raise my eyebrows willingly. "Hey," I hear a high pitched girly voice and I mentally groan to myself. I know who that voice belongs to...
"Lexie," I take a deep breath, making eye contact to a light blonde haired girl who grins at me. I notice her bold makeup and her wildly curled hair as she pushes her body into my torso. She seems to be wearing a sparkly silver dress that obviously accentuates her curves and her expressive cleavage. I clear my throat. Now is not the time to be distracted, Shaurya. You broke up with her for a reason.
I slowly start to push her away and she scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest. "Someone's a little cranky."
"Lexie, don't start this right now," I hiss. "I clearly broke up with you for a reason, why can't you get it?"
"God, can you just stop being such a buzzkill?" She groans, laughing. She's obviously drunk as hell. "We're at a party right now. Come and dance with me," she giggles, tugging on my arm.
I clench my jaw as I immediately shake my head. "No, Lexie. Don't push me."
She frowns at me, squinting her eyes. "What's wrong with you? A girl's just having fun here."
"Yeah, you obviously had enough of that while we were dating," I spit out. Lexie's pale face turns red as she stutters. "I-I'm sorry, okay! It was a one time thing!"
"A one time thing?" I whisper. "You kissed Brayden three times, Lexie. While we were dating. How could you?"
"I'm..." Lexie trails off, looking at the ground. "I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."
"Clearly," I hiss. "Now get away from me."
"Shaurya, please!" she begs. "I miss you."
"Well, I don't," I fight back.
Her face hardens as she looks at me with an unreadable expression. "Go to hell, Shaurya. Just simply go to hell." Then, she unexpectedly steps on my foot and I groan in pain as she runs off into the crowd. What was that for?!
As the pain starts to subside, I take a deep breath as I continue to study the dance floor. Lexie goes off into the huge basic white girl dancing crowd as she starts to whisper to them. They look at me weirdly and giggle to themselves. They're obviously talking about me.
I groan as I push my hair back, taking a long sip of my drink. I somehow finish it quickly as I place the drink on the table behind me. But as I do, my eyes land on a girl who sits at the long table placed in front of a bar.
God, she's so gorgeous.
Just seeing the side of her face makes my insides melt because she's that beautiful. Her voluminous dark hair bounces as she takes a seat on the bar stool. She sighs to herself as she takes her wallet out of her purse, sexily pushing her hair back. My eyes watch her amorously as she checks the inside of her wallet, cussing to herself as she stuffs the wallet back into her purse.
"Do you have change, madam?" the bartender asks her. "If you don't then there's no way you can buy this drink."
"I know, just hold up a second," she speaks out as she rummages the inside of her purse for money. Damn, her voice sends me up into the sky. Her cool and magnificent voice could send a guy to his knees in seconds.
I find myself walking towards her. I can't help it, I have to...
Taking a seat beside her, I clear my throat as she yelps, turning her head towards me. I try to flash her the sexiest smile that I can as I fish out my wallet from my pocket. "How much was it?" I cooly ask.
"Wh-what?" she stutters, looking at me weirdly.
"You heard me," I raise my eyebrows, looking at her questionably. Her light brown eyes confusingly study me, her red lips curled into a frown. Those lips...
She takes a deep breath, nervously biting her lip. "$5.20," she whispers.
I nod my head, smiling as I hand the bartender $20. The bartender nods his head in appreciation and I lean towards him. "Can you fetch me a tequila shot as well? Make sure it's strong." He nods his head as he fetches a drink. Taking a deep breath, I look at the girl staring at me with such confusion. "Thank you," she whispers.
"It's not a problem," I wave off. She chuckles to herself as she shuffles into a comfortable position. I find my eyes studying her flawless facial features all the way to her perfectly shaped body. Her magical brown eyes continue to stare at me as she raises one perfect eyebrow in thought. She bites her sharp red lips sexily as she flips her hair.
My eyes continue to move further down her drop dead physique, my heart pulsating against my chest. She wears a flaming red dress that makes me melt inside. It really elaborates her hour glass body, and it barely even covers herself. I'm not complaining, though...
Her lips curl on one side, accentuating a sexy smirk. "So, what brings you here?"
She clearly sees that her body is turning me on. I clear my throat as I start to clench my jaw. "I had a rough week," I breathe out. "Decided to come here so I can drink my problems away."
"Well, looks like me and you are on the same boat," she sighs. I try to smile charmingly as I swirl my bar stool towards her chair. I'm wearing a button down shirt that is unbuttoned at the top, so maybe that can create some sort of spark for her because it seems like she's not interested in me.
Well, time to work your magic that seems to work on countless of girls, Shaurya.
I seemingly narrow my eyes at her, clenching my jaw to elaborate my chiseled face. Laying my hands out on my lap, I intertwine my fingers together as I lean towards her, placing my hands on my lips, running them through my lips in a slow manner. I start to flex my biceps as I continue to lean on my legs, looking at her in an amorous manner.
She raises her eyebrows at me and lightly chuckles. "Are you trying to impress me?"
I stutter as I immediately sit up, clearing my throat. "I... might be?"
The girl chuckles to herself, her radiant teeth glowing as she laughs gloriously. I might be super embarrassed right now, but her laugh seems to be lifting me from my misery because her laugh is possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.
She sighs once she stops laughing and places her hand on my cheek. "Well, it's not working," she whispers. Her face is inches from mine as she bats her eyelashes at me. As she is bent towards me, she clears her throat and sits up, taking a long sip from her drink. "I'll be on the dance floor," she winks as she smoothly stands up and graciously walks over to the dance floor.
I... am speechless.
But how is she unimpressed?
I huff to myself as I take a quick sip of my drink. Her soft and sexy voice repeats in my mind: 'Are you trying to impress me?' 'Well, it's not working.'
Taking a deep breath, I stand up from my seat and straighten myself. The pop music changes into a slow and sensual beat as all the couples line up on the floor, moving against each other in a specific manner.
My eyes study the girl, who dances to herself on the floor. Her hands run through her curly hair as she sways her hips back and forth. Her tight dress moves with her as she continues to run her fingers through her hair, her eyes closed and her mouth pressed in a tight smile as she sways to the music.
I bite my lip as I push my hands into my pockets. Why does she have to be so radiant? So attractive? So gorgeous?
Feeling my heart beat underneath my chest, I near around her as she moves her body in the most sexiest manner, my insides growling with immediate touch. I want to feel her, touch her...
I sigh into her neck. "Guess who's here?" I whisper.
She looks at me surprisingly and takes a deep breath. "Well, well. Looks like you're here for round two."
"Not round two," I shake my head, a smile tugging at my lips.
"Then... what is it?" She raises her eyebrows at me.
"It's..." I growl into her ear as I pull her back against the front of my body. "Round one."
She yelps at my sudden touch, my hands running alongside her soft arms. The music bounces around us, the beat rhythmically pulsating to our movements. We start to sway together, my torso hugging her back very tightly.
I breathe into her sweet smelling hair, both of my hands clenching her thin waist. Her back still stands with the front of my body, her hips never leaving my front. Shivers start to form inside of me as her hands find my thighs, clenching them with such intensity and power.
My insides burn, wanting more and more from this... this mysterious woman that seems to have walked into my life.
And now I want her. Every single inch and centimeter of her.
The music continues to vibrate intensely, the lights flashing from various colors. As we continue to sway back and forth, my hands are now lightly placed on her hips, which sway so amazingly to the soft yet rhythmic music. I feel her breathing intensely, so that means she's possibly affected by my bold touching.
Are you impressed now, mysterious woman?
"Do you like that?" I whisper into her ear.
"I..." I feel her taking a deep breath. "Yeah," she breathes out. "I do."
I smile into her hair. "Good."
Then, my hand starts to waver to the bottom of her dress. She takes in another deep breath as my fingers linger on the rim. Then, the beat drops to a lower tone as my fingers start to escape beneath her dress.
She slightly gasps as I sigh into her ear. "Are you impressed now?"
I imagine her lips curling into a smile. "Fine, you won. I am impressed."
I chuckle into her ear, but suddenly I hear something vibrate beneath her purse. Please tell me that's not her phone...
"Oh, sorry about that," she apologizes, immediately removing herself from my withering touch. No!
I feel myself frowning as she turns towards me, looking intently into her phone. She curses to herself and makes apologetic eye contact towards me. "That's my dad. I gotta go," she takes in a breath.
"Okay," I breathe out. She takes another apologetic look towards me as her full red lips frown. "I had a great time, though."
I look at her willingly and feel a smile growing on my lips. "I did too."
She smiles at me and suddenly, she starts to run out the door. "Wait!" I yell to her, but it's already too late. The door swings back and forth as I see her running towards the car and immediately driving away. Why was she in such a rush to go? I feel my heart racing again as I replay the memories we have made together, me and the mysterious woman. I don't even know her name and now... I have to find her.
Anika
I quickly open the front door as I take my shoes off at the front door mat. Shivering to myself from the cool fall air, I hear a distant voice in the living room. Closing the door behind me, I take a suggestive breath as I peer into the living room.
"You're late." My dad looks at me with anguish as he studies me intently. "And what the hell are you wearing?"
"S-sorry," I mutter. "It won't happen again."
"Won't happen again?" he laughs to himself. "Anika, you have told me that countless of times. And whenever you go out, you always show up late. Why?"
I shrug. "I don't know. There was a lot of traffic, that's probably why."
"Oh, really?" he whispers to me. My dad stands up, cooly taking off his glasses as he looks at me very intensely. If looks could kill, I would be dead within seconds. "Because I don't think Oakland, California has much traffic at--" I flinch as he slams his hand on the coffee table-- "three o' clock in the damn morning!"
Feeling a tear rolling down my cheek, he shakes his head, laughing to himself. "I didn't raise a daughter all by myself to have her sneaking out in the middle of the night, possibly getting laid by some horny boy."
"I-I wasn't!" I defend.
"Then why were you so late?" he interrogates me, shaking my shoulders. I break down into intense tears and he shakes his head. "You need to be more mature, Anika. You are almost finished with college; studies matter and define your entire life and future, and I sure as hell don't want you to go to parties, coming home this late."
"I said I'm sorry," I repeat. "Now can I please go to bed? I have class tomorrow."
My dad shakes his head again, looking at me solemnly. "Mom would be very disappointed in you, you know that, right?"
"Don't bring Mom in the middle of this," I hiss. Suddenly, he brings his hand up to my cheek and slaps me hard across the face. I gasp as his furious face turns to a bright shade of red, burning from the intense hatred. "Don't tell me what to do!" he booms. "You live under my roof, and until you get a job and move out of this home, you will listen to my rules and my rules only. You understand?!"
I stutter to myself, hot tears blurring my vision. Shaking from the hit, I shiver to myself once again. Why does he always do this?
"Say you understand!" He booms again.
"I understand!" I shriek out. "Now, can you please leave me alone?!"
And with that, I storm up the stairs, feeling myself burst into painful tears.
I slam the door behind me as I sulk on my bed. Quickly taking off my dress and my makeup, I change into my PJs and lay beneath my covers. Then I take my contacts out and wear my glasses. I pull the blanket up to my chest and take my daily dosage of medicine, which is placed on the bedside, next to a wonderful picture of me and my mom.
"I miss you, Mom," I breathe out, another tear streaming down my face. "Why did you have to leave me?" I question her.
Mom continues to smile at me in the picture, obviously not answering my question. I huff to myself and delve into the next chapter of Little Women, pushing my glasses up to the bridge of my nose. But I can barely read the next paragraph because all I feel is the intense burning feeling of want swirling around in my insides.
The way he felt me at the party... no one has ever felt me like that before.
I close my eyes and lean my head back on my headboard, replaying the memories of this party over and over again.
The smell of him...
The way his hot breath fanned my hair...
The way our hips moved simultaneously to the music...
God, this feeling...
I groan to myself, taking a deep breath. And of course my stupid father had to butt in! He never lets me enjoy anything nowadays because all he allows me to do is stay in my room all day, read, study, and be a total nerd. I wanted to be... different in college. The way I was at the party, bold, confident, and stunning... I want to be like that forever. Is that too much to ask for?
But this life is obviously not going to fulfill my every needs. First, I lost my mother. Then, my father starts being abusive towards me and starts yelling at me when I start breathing wrong. Why can't my life just go right for once?
I just wanted to go to this party so I can take a break for once. It took a while to convince my father, but eventually he said yes, saying that I had to be back by ten so I can study, as I usually and always do.
I am twenty-one, for God's sake! I can make my own decisions and live on my damn own!
I huff obsessively and slam Little Women close. I just need to sleep right now because all this alcohol seems to be working up in me and I should probably drift off before things get worse. Placing my book on the side, I turn my night lamp off and lay down on my bed, my head hitting the cold pillow.
All I need is complete rest because I have been ultimately stressed lately, and I honestly need a break from all this hard work. Staring at the ceiling, I take a deep breath as I continue to feel his intense hands wavering on my hips. Why do I keep thinking of him and his touch? Why do I have this intense feeling inside of me? I have never encountered this feeling before, which feels so great.
Suddenly, I feel my eyes drooping, my body still lingering from his intense touching and his unforgettable presence.

A/N:
Whoo! That was the first chapter of JUST US! Did ya like it? :)
God, this chapter was such a doozy to write. As you obviously see, Shaurya is a complete player, judging from his thoughts, and he knows what he's doing when it comes to girls. Like, that boy does not play when it comes to flirting.
On the other hand, Anika seems really shy and closed, someone that wants to experience the real world and is pressured from society. She wants to escape reality and also wants a new taste of life, which she just experienced at the beginning of this chapter.
They both want each other. Badly.
But the problem is, they don't even know their names, nor where they live. Do you think they will find each other again? Or not...?
Well, guess you have to stay tuned for the next chapter ;)
