Sooner later,

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in soft shades of pink and gold, Taehyung found himself standing in front of the Jeon mansion.

He adjusted the strap of his bag over his shoulder and pressed the doorbell, feeling an odd flutter in his chest that he quickly brushed off. *Calm down, Taehyung,* he thought to himself.

It didn’t take long for the door to swing open, revealing Jungkook on the other side. A warm, radiant smile instantly lit up Jungkook’s face, as if Taehyung’s mere presence was enough to brighten his entire day. Before Taehyung could even say a word, he was pulled into a strong embrace.

Jungkook’s arms wrapped securely around him, holding him close as he leaned in to inhale deeply. The faint scent of Taehyung unique and utterly his own made Jungkook feel grounded, yet electrified all at once.

Taehyung froze for a moment, not quite used to being hugged so affectionately upon his arrival—*definitely not by Jungkook,* of all people. Heat crept up his neck, painting his cheeks in soft crimson, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, after a second, he slowly lifted his arms and returned the hug, resting his hands tentatively on Jungkook’s back. It felt... nice—unexpected, yet nice.

When Jungkook finally pulled back, his eyes locked onto Taehyung’s, dark and intense with something that made Taehyung’s breath catch. Before he could process it, Jungkook was leaning in, his lips hovering just a breath away from Taehyung’s.

“Kook—!” Taehyung exclaimed, quickly placing a hand over Jungkook’s mouth to stop him. “What are you doing?! What if Jaybum sees us?” His wide eyes darted around nervously, scanning the entryway for any signs of the little boy.

Jungkook, however, didn’t seem the least bit concerned. He gently peeled Taehyung’s hand away and replied softly, “He’s sleeping in his room. You don’t have to worry.” His tone was firm yet tender, as if trying to reassure Taehyung there was nothing to fear.

Before Taehyung could respond, Jungkook moved again—this time with purpose. With a sudden but gentle motion, Jungkook grabbed Taehyung by the throat, his fingers pressing into the skin of Taehyung’s  as he guided him backward. Taehyung’s back hit the wall softly, the cool surface sending a slight shiver down his spine as his heart skipped a beat.

“Kook, what are you—?” Taehyung’s question was cut off as Jungkook leaned in and captured his lips in a kiss.

All those thoughts melted away as Jungkook deepened the kiss, his hands sliding up to rest gently on Taehyung’s waist.

The kiss was firm yet tender, a mix of passion and restraint. Jungkook moved slowly, as if savoring every second, as though kissing Taehyung was something  he had wanted for an eternity.

Jungkook’s lips against Taehyung's own demanded his attention, pulling him away from any thoughts. Slowly, Taehyung let himself melt into the kiss. His hands moved up to clutch Jungkook’s shoulders, anchoring himself as the kiss grew deeper.

Jungkook pressed closer, his chest flush against Taehyung’s, and his hand slid up to cup the side of Taehyung’s face.

His thumb traced the soft skin of Taehyung’s cheek as their lips moved in perfect sync, a quiet hunger building between them. The only sounds were the faint hum of the evening breeze outside and their soft, shared breaths.

Taehyung’s heart pounded loudly in his chest, a mix of nervousness and something far sweeter .....

And just like that,

Days passed by like a soft breeze, gentle yet steady, as Taehyung and Jungkook settled into the rhythm of their newfound relationship.

They had agreed to take things slow—no rushing, no hasty decisions. Both of them wanted to savor this bond, to let it grow naturally, especially with Jaybum always by their side, filling their days with laughter and warmth.

Their lives became a beautiful mix of simple joys—afternoons spent lounging in Jungkook’s living room while Jaybum sprawled on the carpet, doodling away with crayons; evenings spent baking or cooking together, occasionally turning the kitchen into a disaster zone;

and nights where Jungkook would steal quick kisses from Taehyung, their lips meeting in the quiet hum of the house, as Jaybum dozed off upstairs.

“Taking things slow” seemed perfect. There was no pressure, no overwhelming need to rush forward.

And yet…

Oh, only if they knew.

Only if they knew that the world doesn’t always abide by plans. That sometimes, destiny has its own way of speeding things up when you least expect it.

Only if they knew that their “slow” would soon turn into a whirlwind neither of them could predict.

If only *you*, my dear readers, knew what awaited them next.

A turn that would challenge them, strengthen them, and bring them even closer together.
