Chapter 173 Get 5 >
Menu I couldnât sleep the entire night. My mind was a storm of memories, dragging me back to the past I had tried so hard to bury.
That night, when I woke up the next morning, I found a stranger lying next to me, naked under the blanket.
At first, I wasnât shocked. I thought it was just another girl from the clubâa woman who wanted to make money by selling her body. Iâd seen it happen countless times before.
But what unsettled me was the fact that I couldnât remember anything. Not a single detail. I wasnât even sure if I had actually slept with her. Still, the purple marks scattered across her bare back told me something had happened.
I shook my head, trying to shove the memory away, but it clung to me like a shadow.
âAre you okay?â
Finnâs voice broke through the haze of my thoughts, pulling me back to the present. I blinked, realizing I was still sitting on the couch in my office, a cigarette burning between my fingers.
I glanced at it and noticed it was already halfâburned. I had been so lost in my thoughts that I hadnât even realized.
âHmm,â I replied shortly, taking a slow puff before extinguishing it in the ashtray.
Finn walked over to the couches, taking the seat opposite me. He studied me for a moment before speaking.
âTheyâre on their way to the company.â
His words instantly grabbed my attention. I straightened slightly, my brows lifting. âDid they find all the records?â
Finn nodded, âYeah. There are a few videos since there are so many cameras installed in various locations at the club.â
âI want every single angle,â I said firmly.
He nodded again. âThatâs exactly what theyâve done. They collected everything and brought it here. The club owner himself was there with his men, but since you didnât want to see him, they sent the recordings with your officials.â
I had instructed my team to supervise the process closely. I didnât want any mistakes, and I certainly didnât want anyone tampering with the evidence.
Finnâs voice broke through my thoughts again. âKane, what are you hoping to find?â
I frowned, taking another slow puff from my cigarette. âWhat do you mean?â
He gave me a strange look, one I couldnât decipher. But his next words took me by surprise.
âIf it turns out Selene really did it, then itâll only fuel the hatred you already have for her. And thatâs not good for you.â

< Chapter 173 He paused, as if weighing whether he should continue. Then, in a quieter voice, he added, âAnd if she didnât...â
Finn didnât finish the sentence, but he didnât have to. The implication was clear.
I looked away, avoiding his gaze. âWe all know she did it.â
But my voice lacked the conviction I wanted it to carry, and Finn noticed. He shook his head, his expression thoughtful.
âYour heart doesnât want to believe it anymore. Thatâs why youâre going through all this. You even canceled a pack meeting todayâone that was supposed to address important mattersâjust to focus on this.â
His words hit too close to home, and I tightened my fists, fighting the anger bubbling inside me. The tension in my hand crushed the cigarette, breaking it in two. I threw it to the floor in frustration and stood up abruptly.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
âCome in,â 1 barked, my voice sharper than I intended.
Finn glanced at me, his expression unreadable, as if he were silently judging my desperation.
The door opened, and three of my officialsâStorm, Gideon, and Derekâstepped inside.
âWhere is it?â I demanded, my tone impatient.
Storm stepped forward and handed me a flash drive.
Without wasting a second, I walked over to my desk, plugged the drive into my laptop, and opened the first file.
The video began to play, and as the footage filled the screen, my eyes darkened.
Selene.
There she was, in the club that night. Her face was unmistakable, though she looked younger, with a determination in her eyes that I couldnât quite place.
My jaw tightened as I leaned closer to the screen, watching her every move.
The memories I had buried so deeply began to surface once more, and I knewâwhatever this footage revealedâit was going to change everything.
