Chapter 394 Without wasting another second, Finn bolted out of the tent.
Selene turned to Kane, her expression filled with urgency.
âYou need to stay here. Iâll go out and handle this,â she said firmly.
Kane shook his head. âNo. I can move my left arm nowâIâm coming with you.â
âAt least let me go first,â she insisted.

Menu Before Kane could argue, Selene shifted into her wolf form and darted out of the tent, leaving no time for further discussion.
Clothes were the least of her concernsâthis was a battle, and she would fight in the form nature intended.
But the moment she emerged, she froze.
Wolves were locked in combat, their snarls and growls filling the air as they clawed and tore at one another. Scattered among them were several men who hadnât shifted yet, their weapons gleaming under the moonlight.
Her sharp eyes scanned the battlefield, and then she saw him.
A familiar face.
The sight hit her like a punch to the gut. Without thinking, she sent a mindâlink.
âNathan!â
Her voice carried through the mental connection, and every official present heard it. Heads snapped in her direction, their expressions mirroring her shock.
Nathan? Here?
No one could comprehend it. How had he found them? And why was he standing beside the head Alpha of another packâthe very Alpha who was supposed to lead this attack against Kane?
The enemy Alpha started toward her, but Nathan lifted a hand, stopping him. With slow, deliberate steps, he made his way to Selene instead.
A smirk curled his lips. âWell, well... if it isnât our new head Alpha.â
Selene narrowed her eyes, confusion flickering in their icy blue depths.
âWhat the hell are you doing here?â she demanded. âWhy are you with him? Heâs our enemy.â
Nathan chuckled, the sound laced with something dark, something mocking. âEnemy? No, Selene. Heâs not your biggest enemy.â
His smirk deepened. âI am.â
Seleneâs breath caught in her throat.
A vicious growl erupted beside her. Gamma Storm lunged at Nathan without hesitation, but Nathan was quicker. In a flash, he yanked a knife from his waistband and drove it into Stormâs arm.
Storm collapsed with a pained grunt.

Sensing the shift, the enemy Alpha barked an order to his warriors. âKill them all!â
The battle erupted in full force.
Selene ignored the other Alpha entirely, her focus locked on Nathan. She could hardly process the betrayalâthis was Nathan, someone she had once considered a friend.
Why?
Finn narrowly avoided another swipe of Nathanâs knife, countering with a sharp bite to his leg. Nathan stumbled but retaliated quickly, managing to wound Finn and several others in the skirmish.
Through the chaos, Seleneâs voice cut through. âNathan, why are you doing this?â
The fighting slowed as the officials hesitated, desperate for an explanation.
Nathan wiped the blood from his mouth and took a limping step toward her. His gaze burned with an unsettling confidence.
âI only came here for one reasonâto kill Alpha Kane.â His voice dripped with certainty. âWhere is he? Lying somewhere, barely alive, I assume? But donât worry, Selene... I wonât harm you. After all, once I marry you, Iâll be the rightful leader of the Nightfall Pack.â
Seleneâs blood ran cold. âWhat are you talking ab Nathan let out a deep, sinister laugh.
âYou really thought I was on your side?â His expression turned deadly. âNo, darling. This was my plan all along. Iâm not Nathan Winters.â He took a step closer, his next words sending a shiver down her spine.
âIâm Nathan Wade.â
