Chapter 2: RIDE HOME

FOR YOU || ASHTRAYWords: 9480

Liani walked down the stairs of her house, a red dress on her body, her makeup done and her shoes in her hand. she looked around her living room, shaking her head when her mother wasn't in sight. she sat her phone on her couch, before quickly slipping on her shoes, as she didn't like heels, and then she heard a loud knock on her door.

with a smile on her face, she quickly tied her shoe, grabbing onto her phone and walked to her front door. her smile widened as she opened her door and her best friends face showed.

"juliii!" liani dragged, as juliet wrapped her arms around her, bringing her into a hug.

"are you ready?" juliet pulled away, with a nod, liani stuffed her phone into her bra, and closing her door, before the two of them walked down her driveway, and to the sidewalk.

"was your mom home?" juliet asked, already knowing the answer, she wanted a different one.

"no." it was the simple answer, liani didn't know where her mom was, or when she left.

juliet sighed, nodding her head quickly. through the years she knew liani, and became best friends with her, her disliking for her mother came along with it. but she couldn't help but hope for more for her best friend, but the reality was known, it wasn't going to happen.

liani looked over to her best friend at the sound of her sigh, with a small laugh, she threw her arm around her shoulder, shaking her body a few times and after that the two continued to walk closely together, the rest of the way to the house party the had been invited to.

once they arrived they're smile widened, they opened the door to the party, the smell of alcohol, weeds and sweat all hitting their nose, and the loud noise of music and talking almost immediately giving them a huge headache.

somehow, aside from all of that, they loved partys.

both juliet and liani felt multiple arms thrown over their shoulders, and their body's pulled in every direction. "liani, juli!" they heard their friends shout, smiling.

they smiled back, greeted them with a small side hug and then they split, some of their friends going one direction and some going the other, and liani and juliet followed a few, to the kitchen of the house.

liani was handed a red solo cup by one of her friends, she didn't exactly catch who but she took it with a smile. it was already full, but she waited until juliet had one in her hand as well, before they hit their cups together and then drank it together.

they both shook their heads, a loud groan coming from their mouths. liani began pouring herself and juliet another shot, and as she finished and she sat juliet's cup back in front of her, she turned her head seeing her boyfriend right behind her. with a laugh, she dragged, "romeoooo."

juliet eyed her, confused, before turning around and smiling at the sight of her boyfriend, monty. liani watched as monty smiled at her, grabbing onto her and bringing her into a long, passionate kiss.

lani made a sarcastic cringe face, making juliet and monty laugh, before liani picked up her red solo cup and drank the alcohol inside of it. she sat her cup have down with another groan, before walking over to juliet who was still standing by her boyfriend. she listened as monty told her he would be back, and that he was going to say hi to a few of his friends, and grabbed onto juliet's hand. "well, see you later romeo, me and julis gonna go dance!"

monty laughed at his nickname, before saying bye to the both of them, and watching as juliet was pulled into the crowd of people who were dancing.

lianis arms moved around, as her hips swayed along to the music. juliet laughed loudly at her best friend, she always found is mesmerizing how she danced along to the music at partys, almost every song, even if she was sitting down her head was hopping along to the beat, or her body was moving side to side.

juliet grabbed onto her hands, moving both of their arms in sync in the air. a few minutes after, the two best friends parted. juliet went over to her boyfriend, and liani went with a few of her friends she saw in the crowd of many. she sat with them, in the circle that they passed a blunt around, with a red solo cup sat closely next to her.

they laugh, talked, played a few party games, and then soon, juliet joined her again. with a smile, liani scooted over so she could sit right next to her.

liani pulled her phone out of her bra, reading her notifications and seeing if possibly her mother left her a message. she looked at herself through her phone camera, and then moved her arm so she could take a picture with her and her friends together. and then, moved again so she could her one of herself, and then one of just her and juliet.

after almost three hours of partying, liani was practically drunk and she was high. she was growing more tired by the second and was ready to leave, so she turned to her best friend who stood next to her, and tapped her shoulder.

"i'm leaving." she told her, her voice lie and soft. juliet only heard her because she leaned closer to her, putting her ear right by her mouth.

juliet put up her finger, telling liani to wait a minute. "i'm going to go say bye to monty and then we'll both go, okay?"

liani nodded her head, leaning on the wall that was next to juliet but was now next to her juliet walked off to say bye to her boyfriend.

the two weren't that far away from her, so she saw as monty leaned closer to juliet so he could hear what she was saying, before the two started talking and they kissed a good three times.

with a huff, liani began growing impatient and waited a minute more, before pushing off the wall and walking out of the party.

it was dark now, so she looked around at the people that was outside of house. she pulled out her phoke to check the time, before hurrying her speed.

on the way home, she felt her phone vibrate many times, but didn't bother checking what it was as she didn't feel like to in the moment. she came across and corner store, and stopped in front of it.

the lights were bright, there was only one car there, but it didn't look like anyone was there. she didn't realize she was thirsty until she was in front of that store, so she prayed that it was opened, and walked up to the door.

she smiled to herself as the door pulled open and the bell went off, and she immediately walked in, and over to the freezers where the drinks were held.

she pulled out a green monster, pulling the money out of her phone case and then walked up to the register. she sat the monster down, along with the money and looked up at the ginger man who eyed the girl, slowly taking the monster and scanning it.

he told her the price, taking the money out of her hand and giving her, her change before saying if she was alright.

she nodded, "i'm so good, how are you?"

he could tell she was intoxicated, and it was late, which made him worried for the girl to be out alone. he was about to close the store, and didn't want the girl to feel scared at him asking, but also didn't want her to end up in the wrong hands. so, with a small sigh he asked her, "um.. do you need a ride home?"

the girl who was about to walk out of the store, turned back around to the man. even though she was drunk, the man was a stranger, she knew that. she would be stupid for expecting a ride home from a stranger she met five minutes ago, but the guy seemed solid, so she slowly nodded. "sure."

he also nodded, quickly closing and locking the register and then walking back behind the glass freezer door. liani watched him, opening the monster energy drink she had just bought and drinking it.

she leaned against the wall, watching as the ginger guy walked back out of the door, with a younger boy now behind him. he looked about her age, he had a buzz cut and he was a bit taller than her.

here eyebrows raised as she looked the boy up and down, before watching the older guy lock up the store, and tell them both to come on.

she sat in the back seat of his car, her phone in one hand and the monster she bought in the other. she listened to the faint radio, not noticing as the boy in front seat eyed her suspiciously.

she gave the ginger the directions to her house the best she could, as her eyes squinted and her head felt like it was spinning.

finally, she pointed to a house, and fezco stopped in front of it. she smiled, patting his seat and getting out of the car. she pointed to the guy, "thank you so much for the ride." and walked up her driveway, pushing open her front door.

fezco turned to ashtray, who was looking at the front door that was just slammed closed. he drove off after a couple seconds, hoping that girl would be alright.

liani walked up the stairs of her house, and into her room where she took of her shoes and placed her drink next to her and then flopped into her bed, her face buried in the covers.

she let out a frustrated groan as her phone rung for the thousandth time, and she pressed 'answer' not bothering to read the name of who was calling her.

"hello?" she sighed.

"liani, what the fuck? i told you to wait a minute, where are you?" juliet panicked.

"oh, hi, juli." liani laughed. "i left, i got a ride home from this guy i met at this store.. he was nice!"

juliet shook her head, "fucking christ. okay, i love you."

liani smiled, "i love you tooo."

juliet hung up after, shaking her head at her drunk best friend who couldn't just gotten herself into a really stupid situation if the guy she had gotten a ride home with was anyone else.
