Idara's POV

"How was your first day at school?" My mum asked Mercy and I as we both entered the house.

I forced a smile and dropped on the chair.

"It was nice , I missed my friends. You should have even seen Mercy this morning it was as if she flied out of the window." I said as I pulled a pillow to my chest.

My mum laughed out removing her glasses while Mercy just hissed at me.

"I will not talk." She said as she walked to the kitchen making mum laugh more.

I stood up , grabbed my bag and walked to my room.

The scene that happened today was still replaying in my head.

Opening my bag  I brought out my phone and checked it but there was no missed calls or even a text from him .

He didn't even come back , I sighed again and lied down on my soft bed.

Slowly falling asleep the ringtone of my phone woke me up.

I quickly carried it from the bed side table only to see Liz calling.

"Hey." I said sitting down upright on my bed.

"Hmmmmm it sounds like you are disappointed that it's me calling." Liz said from the other end with a giggle .

Mumu girl , why is she even giggling sef?

"Wo leave me jo. Have been waiting for Femi to call and explain what happened. " I said back at her and picked the remote to my TV.

"Well you should trust him ." She said back . Shuffling was heard.

" Are you in bed too?" I asked trying to change the topic. I trust Femi but I feel something is wrong.

" yep , with Daniel . He's currently sleeping." She said

No wonder she was giggling and all.

" Maybe I should call him myself. " I said while changing the stations.

" Yeah you should do that." She said back and ended the call .

I called Femi immediately he didn't pick . now this is getting on my nerves .

I called him again and after the second ring he picked.

Femi 💖;  hey

Hearing his voice all the anger that I felt started dissipating

Me; hi ,You did not come back from where you went to.

I said hugging my pillow to my chest , and watching

' am not a robot '  a Korea series.

Femi 💖; am so sorry about today . My dad wanted to eat lunch with her and her dad .

Me; it's okay , but you should have called you know?"

We kept on talking and ended the call half an hour later.

I felt refreshed as I stepped out of my room to join my mum and sis in cooking.

It's been three weeks since resumption and waec , jamb was knocking on the door.

"Idara Peters " the coach called and I stepped out standing beside the other swimmers in front of the pool with a swimming gear on.

I joined the swimmer's club and I can proudly say am one of the best among the new recruits.

With Liz and the rest cheering for me , today we were having a mid - competition stuff for all the sports and I really wanted to win that medal.

The four participants were arranged with me at the edge . The timekeeper blew the whistle and the we all jumped in .

Moving my legs and hands fast , and taking a breath as I swam more faster than ever , I reached the edge and did a turn pressing my leg against the wall.

I saw Faith , an ss2 student leading . I'm taking that gold medal home today I muttered pushing harder and swimming faster gaining up with Faith , she also went faster and all in a fast motion or slow I don't know she was declared the winner.

My friends were still cheering me on even Mrs Amber our coach.

"You did good considering it's been just three weeks ." She said patting my shoulder.

Grabbing a towel from the bench and placing it round my neck I walked to the step where the second position will stand.

As the silver medal was placed on me , all my friends cheered I looked at their directions and Femi was grinning so bright.

I realized sometimes you just have to enjoy yourself and not always get stressed for yourself and those there for you.

After the medal was placed we walked out . Immediately I reached the spectator's area , Liz hugged me .

"Babes you were so cool .I should have joined ooo." She said

"Mumu girl your body will be wet ." Angel said while laughing.

Liz realised this and let me go .

She looked at my wet swimming trunk.

"Why didn't you stop me?" She asked cleaning her wet sport wears.

Femi laughed and scattered my hair.

I hit his hand and we all laughed.

Moments like this were always buried deep in my heart.

"I need to go to the changing room . I'm coming." I said to Femi .

"Okay am waiting here ." He said back  leaning the walls.

while adjusting my top , someone entered. I didn't bother to look since it would just be another student.

"I don't know why you don't just get it." I heard a familiar voice said . Turning to my right I saw Britney.

Can't she just disappear , I haven't seen her since that incident and I really wished I wouldn't.

I ignored her as I looked at the mirror back and packed my braids up.

"Am talking to you. Anyway , just enjoy this limited time you have with Femi cause I will have him for a longer time ."she said walking into the stalls.

What was she talking about? , have him for a longer time, that girl is not okay.

I left the changing room and met Femi were he was staying before.

I can't just ask him what she meant , I should trust him. Yeah I trust him .  Britney can go to hell I don't care .

Femi's  POV

"Does she know?" I looked at the person in front of me . Looking at her made all my smile disappear.

"Leave me alone ." I said , she sighed walking into the female's changing room.

Hope she won't tell idara anything. Truth is I just don't know how to tell her , this can't happen.

If I do  I might lose her and , if I  don't I will lose her , maybe I should tell her today once and for all.

She stepped out of the changing room in her sport wear. A red top and a red shorts. She wore a white fila sneakers and she looked so beautiful.

God , how should I tell her , I won't tell her today . I'll have to change my dad's mind.

She looked at me smiling "let's go." I said holding her small hands in mine .

"Femi .... About.." she said stopping , I stopped to look at her.

Did Britney tell her about the stuff . Someone should tell me this is not happening.

She cleared her throat ,"sorry .. uhm the physics stuff that we wanted to revise before waec." She said . I could see that wasn't what she wanted to ask before.

Does she know?

"Yeah.. what about tomorrow?" I said as we walked to the car park.

"Fine by me ." She said smiling.

"And did I tell you that you were so good today." I said brushing her hair back.

"Yeah you did. Let's go am hungry."she said as she grinned . I removed my hand and opened the door for her.

"Such a fine gentleman." She said faking a British accent making the both of us laugh.

I walked out of my bathroom with my bath robe on and a towel round my neck.

I walked to my phone to change the current song that was playing which is , south of the border by edsherran and Camilla cabello.

I picked my phone and the group text message popped up , the guys were waiting for me at our hangout spot.

How did ire get there so fast. I quickly replied them .

Femi Davies; am coming . I can't kill myself oo😅

I typed that and pressed the send button. Before I could drop the phone it started ringing.

It was an unknown number.

I picked the call.

Me; hello

Unknown; hello is this Femi Davies?

Who is this ?

Me; yeah who's this ?

Unknown; am Mr Aiden , am your late mum's lawyer.

My mum, why would her lawyer call after ten years.

Me;  okay.. so how can I help you?

Aiden ;  can we meet , it's been ten years and it's time.

Me; time for what?

Aiden;  let's meet it needs to be Said in person.

Me; oh..okay what about today?

Boy's hangout can wait . This is about my mum anything else can wait.

Aiden; sure I will send you the address to my office.

Me; okay I will be expecting it.

He cut the call and I quickly dropped the phone and walked to my walk-in closet to pick my outfit.

I parked the car in front of the said building. It was a big one , a very big one for just law firms .

I entered and informed the receptionist that I was here for Mr Aiden.

She called him and she directed me to his office.

I entered the elevator and stepped out at the 5th floor.

I walked straight ahead like I was told to and came face to face with his office.

I knocked out of courtesy cause right now I felt like flying in and hearing all what he has to say.

"Come in." i heard him say from inside.

I quickly entered inside. His office was big and we'll designed and right behind his chair held the view of the beach.

I looked at the man and he looked around his mid or late

40's

"Good afternoon sir." I said . He pointed at the chair for me to seat.

"Good afternoon Femi it's been so long." He said making me more confuse .

I can't remember him from anywhere considering I was small at that time.

"Do you know me too?" I asked.

"Yeah ... Both you and your mum " he said

"Who are you to her?" I asked cause all this suspense was getting to much.

"She was my friend, a very good friend and client. You are here now cause I have to read the will." He said.

"Will?"I asked. They said her company will be mine when I was of age but another will?

"Will?" I asked again.

"Yeah. She insisted that you must be eighteen before I read the will." He said standing up.

He walked to a safe or so and brought out a tape recorder.

He played it and my mum's voice filled the room . It broke my heart to know it was just her voice.

"Femi when you hear this ......."
