There's a corner of your heart for me.

There's a corner of your heart just for me.

I will pack my bags just to stay in the corner of your heart.

Sage’s Pov.

Blaze walked in front of me and Zac, and went straight to his room, closing the door behind him. I plopped on the couch and Zac into a nearby chair, loosening his tie.

“Why were you jealous? I told you, you had no reason to be. He doesn’t want her.” Zac sighed running a hand through his thick, honey hair.

“Zac honestly, look at Marnie and then look at me. Could you blame me? I mean I know I’m not ugly, but I don’t have sex appeal or the ability to catch Blaze’s eye apparently.”

“So you’re admitting that you want Blaze?” He asked lips curling into a smirk.

“No, that definitely not what I’m admitting. I’m saying if this needs to seem real then I have to be able to at least keep his attention from other girls. It obvious that most of his family prefer Marnie. So it won’t be in the tabloids, I don’t want to be embarrassed.” I replied swinging my arm from the couch, looking upside down at him.

A look of deep thought passed through his face. Though a tad muscular and an obvious blonde, plus the way he joked, made him seem like the stereotype, but Zac definitely had a brain and he knew how to use it. Perhaps he wasn’t as smart as Blaze but he definitely wasn’t dumb.

“You’re going to fall in love with him.” He stated as if it took all that time to think of that.

“Are you serious?” I questioned, “You sat there in deep thought just to say that? Zac stop saying that, this is just a deal and I know that. I won’t fall in love with him. I won’t.” Then I dragged myself off the couch and walked to my room, but before entering I waved a goodnight at Zac, who just lifted his head in a nod. The lazy bum was probably going to sleep there.

I woke up earlier than Blaze, or maybe I didn’t and he was just in his room; and made breakfast. I made us all pancakes. I sat Zac’s in front of him, where I knew he’d be sleeping; on the couch. And I made my way with Blaze’s plate to his door.

I knocked three times and I got no answer, so I opened the door.  A big gust of steam hit me in the face and when I opened my eyes, Blaze was in clear view pulling on his boxers but I still got a good view of his butt. I stood there like a deer in the headlights shock evident on my face. He was unaware of me till he turned around.

“Oh shit! Sage how long were you standing there?” I could see a tinge of pink across the lining of his cheeks.

“I’m so sorry, oh my gosh. I promise I didn’t get to see anything but your butt! Okay well that came out wrong, I didn’t walk in here soon enough to see anything else- that sounds worse. Uhm here I’ll leave this here and I’ll just go!” I squeaked sitting his pancakes on the bedside table and scurrying out of the room.

“What’s wrong with you? You look like you just saw a ghost……. Or Blaze naked?” That infamous smirk slithered on his face and he got up shaking his body in a funny way singing “Innocent Sage-y saw Blaze-y Nake-y” as loudly as he could! He ran around the house singing it and I couldn’t catch him because I was always caught between pieces of furniture.

“You idiot why wouldn’t you tell me he was taking a shower?” I asked through gritted teeth, the most embarrassed I have ever been, and I’ve been in some embarrassing moments.

“Hey everyone! I’m here now, where’s the food Zac promised us!” Aubrey loud voice carried over to me. Oh no, she’d make it ten times worse. I made eye contact with Zac and pleaded with my eyes, for him not to tell her. That only added fuel to his rapidly spreading smile. He dashed into the kitchen before I could stop him.

“Hey, my lovely sister! Guess what glorious thing happen to Sage this morning!” That same irritating smirk spread across her face. I’m starting to think that it’s a family thing. She started eating some of my pancakes staring me down.

“Don’t tell me Zac!” I actually thought she was on my side before the next sentence left her mouth. “I want to figure it out, cause oh trust me, I will!” Then she gave an evil laugh which her brother joined in on.

Mark walked in with milk and stopped immediately when he heard the maniacal siblings. “So, what are these two up to now?” Then he looked at my gaping mouth and said “Oh, of course Sage” Then walked over into the kitchen as if it was nothing new.

“Aren’t you going to help me?” I begged.

“Sorry, there’s nothing I can do my friend. Once these two are set on something, they will accomplish it.” He scooped a couple pancakes onto his plate and drowned them in syrup.

“You’re no help,” I glared at him. Blaze came out of his room a couple minutes later and sat right next to me. I quickly got up and busied myself in the kitchen. Aubrey stared Blaze down, but of course they’ve been friends all their lives, he wasn’t having it.

“Aubrey stop staring, it’s fucking annoying.” He ate some of his pancakes and then she asked the question I was trying to brace my beating heart for it.

“So what’s got Sage so jumpy around you?” She was too forward for her own good. She pointed her fork at him and his eyes went from the fork to me. I avoided eye contact and went to rapidly washing a dish. But when I glanced back at him I noticed the pink tinge lined his cheeks again. He was way better at hiding his emotions than me.

Then a grin as big as the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland spread across Aubrey’s face. “Okay there are two options. Since I know you both had never did anything besides kiss, which I have actually witness, and goodness was it heated don’t know where that would’ve went if I wouldn’t of caught you two. Which is weird I mean Blaze is not the type to wait, why wait for you? Unless you were like one of those nun type girls. Which is crazy because where did Blaze find you?  I mean you’re not clingy or anything. Trust me I know clingy I once had this friend who was so clingy to her boyfriend that-“

“Aubrey your point!” Blaze snapped clearly annoyed at her constant rambling.

“Sorry,” she laughed and then continued with her previous point “You saw her naked Blaze.”

“No I didn’t.” And there was that pink tinge again, and even though I hadn’t known Blaze very long, I knew that he wasn’t one to blush.

“But-but you’re blushing! You never blush, in all the years I’ve known you. When Jessica Turner showed you her boobs, in the 10th grade you didn’t blush you raised your eyebrows and nodded approving but you didnt blush. Not even when your mom caught you and Millie Thompson getting it on in the back of your first car.” I knew Blaze wasn’t a virgin, but I mean how did Aubrey know names? And I definitely didn’t think I was going to hear about the girls that he did anything with. The thoughts kind of depressed me and so I turned back around and finished the dishes.

“Just stop talking, motor-mouth.” And I guess Zac hit her or something because she said “OW! Why- Oh, I’m sorry if that made you uncomfortable Sage! I mean no normal girl wants to hear about her fiancé’s sexual exploits.”

“Its fine and I gave her a small smile. Then there was whispering along the lines of ‘comfort’ ‘now’ and ‘stupid’.

I felt arms wrap around my waist and Blaze’s chin resting on my shoulder. I almost forgot that Aubrey and Mark had no idea that this wasn’t real, and that Blaze was only comforting me because they were here. If they weren’t here and this was just one of our regular little fits against each other in front of Zac, he would’ve just walked off grumpy, to his room.

“I’m sorry you had to hear that,” he whispered into my ear. It felt like it was truth but I had to remember that it was just acting.

“It’s okay, I knew you weren’t pure. You a hot guy that was expected.” I complimented with a small chuckle at the end, to seal the deal. He spun me around and kissed me on the lips softly. I looked at face and it was blank as usual with his electric green eyes glowing.

“Okay if the sappy moment is over I will be taking Sage to get coffee, and look for a wedding dress with her mom, Mrs. Colton, and Grams once Cory gets here. And yes you guys are on babysitting duty.” Aubrey dictated finishing off her pancakes and placing her plate in the sink.

“That’s fine; Cory is the best kid I’ve met.” Blaze stated the side of his mouth twitching up a little.

We heard a knock at the door and Mark opened it letting my little brother come bounding through. He was dropped off by his friend Eric’s mom.

“Okay Cor, be good for Blaze, Zac, and Mark. If I hear one bad thing I’m telling mom on you.” He pouted and stuck his tongue out at me. I bent down and squeezed the life out of him. I released him and he glared at me, to which I just laughed and skipped out of the Condo with Aubrey.

First we headed to the Starbucks that I once worked at. Stacy was there sitting on the counter like usual while Jeremy was doing all the work. We strolled up to the counter and I greeted the un-expecting worker with a hug. Jeremy was a seventeen year old boy who was the sweetest while I was working here. He had shaggy brown hair and had the bad boy look going on, he was like a younger brother and I his older sister.

“Sage! Where have you been the last month? I asked the skank over there but she just shrugged. She’s been worse and even inviting her dumb friends in here too. I was-“ he stopped mid-speech and turned his attention to Aubrey looking around unaware. “And who is this?” He asked turning on the charms and winking at Aubrey to which she looked around making sure it was aimed her.

“I’m Aubrey her soon to be sister-in-law, and too old for you little boy.”

“But you know what they say about older women, they’re always looking for a young cub to be a cougar with,” he winked again licking his lips what he thought was seductively.

“Please stop and get me and espresso. Just looking at you makes me feel like I’ll be charged for being a pedophile.”

“So you’re saying if I was older you’d give me a chance?” He was persistent and I didn’t want Aubrey to crush his spirits.

“Yeah sure. If you were older and I wasn’t with my boyfriend, now where’s my coffee!” She asked impatient, but rolled her eyes and smiled nonetheless.”

“I’d like my normal too. And George fired me because I wasn’t pretty and something about losing business.”

“What? You’re my beautiful sister, no matter how ugly those glasses, that I’m glad you decided to lose, were.”

“You’re sweet, but shut up.  I loved my glasses.”

“So I heard you were getting married to a Colton?” He said with amazement and awe on his face. Did everyone know who Blaze was except me?

“Yeah, I am. Though I didn’t know who he was when I met him.” I laughed.

“How could you not? He’s on all the magazines as a bachelor and you look like the type to read.”

“Hey, I’m not a magazine reader. And I don’t keep up with the times okay.”

“Well we’re going to go sit,” Aubrey read his nametag, “Jeremy, we’ll see you soon. I like you kid, you’re funny and you’d be perfect for my little cousin.”

“Does she look like you?” Jeremy was back at his flirting again.

“Yeah, sure. See you later Jeremy.” I told him hugging him once again before sitting down in the now busy Starbucks.

My eyes wandered over the Starbucks that use to be like a second home to me, I saw Aubrey drinking her coffee as if it was made by God, and then my eyes landed on Stacy who was talking to a brunette who’s head was turned so all I saw was hair, but the way she dressed reminded me of someone.

“Hey does that brunette over there by the skinny blonde look familiar to you?” I asked Aubrey, because I felt like the girl I knew from somewhere.

“Yeah the blonde is Stacy Orsini and the brunette has to be Marnie, those two are inseparable almost.” She sipped on her coffee again as if it was the most normal thing.

“I worked here for years with Stacy and I’ve never seen Marnie here. I didn’t meet Marnie till I met Blaze.” I told her taking a huge gulp of my drink the hot liquid burning down my throat.

“Well I’ve been knowing those two basically my whole life, they’ve been best friends ever since I can remember.”

“How long have you known Blaze?”

“Ha, I’ve been knowing Blaze since I was six years old, him and my brother have been friends since as long as they could remember. And hung out every day until his parents took him away for a year when he was fifteen and I was sixteen.”

“Why did they take him away?” I was curious, because I knew Blaze would never tell me any of these personal details about his life. I already drank the rest of my coffee so I was fully intent on hearing the rest, my elbows on the table and leaning in to hear better.

Aubrey’s eyebrows scrunched together in confusion, “How’d you fall in love with Blaze if you don’t know this?”

“I would never ask him something he doesn’t want to talk about. I fell in love with his-“ I lost the words, because what was I going to say? I didn’t know much about Blaze, he was a closed off person and there wasn’t much he would let me know. “With his sweet side. You won’t Blaze to do or say much but at the most random times he’d show me a side I wasn’t expecting.”

“Hmm well I guess that’s reasonable.” She shrugged, finishing off the rest of her coffee and chucking it into the nearest trash can.

“Blaze parents took him away for a year to-“ She was cut off my loud clicking heels and a shrill voice.

“If it isn’t the fired Beast, looks like you tried to turn into a Beauty, didn’t work out.” Stacy cackled.

“This is the ugly duckling you were always talking about Stace? Apparently she managed to snag my Blaze.” Marnie said disgusted, you could tell because of the sneer that was on her face.

“He never wanted you, and she’s not ugly. Back Chubaka and Yoda don’t make me embarrass you.” Aubrey stood up and you could tell by her stiff posture that she was ticked.
