Caught up
I'm drowing in this crowded sound
I've fallen underneath
So loud it's pounding
All around me

Blaze's Pov.
I saw that same nerdy girl that I see every day, when I come to get my morning coffee, before heading to college. I never really paid much attention to her, till today. She was quite unattractive if you didnât have the common sense to look past her big, alien, grandma looking glasses.
I ordered my usual, a caramel macchiato to the bleach blonde at the counter, who'd do anything just for a second of my attention; and she would yell the order to the nerd and she'll get right to work not even bothering to glance up at the blonde or me.
She never said a word, and you wouldnât be able to see her eyes because of her long, out of control bangs, but the glasses pushed the hair up a little, so it held it out of her face a bit.
But she didnât matter; she was just another girl, out of the millions that live in California. I picked up my drink, paid and walked out of Starbucks. She might be nerdy but she sure did make a great coffee.
Even though a lot of guys didnât like me, I was that person you wanted to be. The girls flocked me; something about being expressionless really turned them on. But I want worried, I canât hate them for thinking I look like a god. I just want to graduate and take over my Father's company... I got out of my expensive quality model sports car, and strolled on campus. I didnât live there, because I lived at my mansion.
The girls immediately saw me and started to follow me. The leader Marnie pushed her against and rubbed my chest. My face was blank, just like always.
"Hi, Blaze-y! How was your day? You should smile more; I've never seen you smile. You're probably even sexier when you smile." Then she continued to babble on, I stopped listening. I blanked when she said smile, your presence makes me grimace.
Zac walked over, and being the one who actually talked and smiled, some of the girls went over to him.
"Ladies, there's enough of me to go around." Then he beamed them a smile.
"So what's up bro?"
"Nothing, my grandma has been hassling me again." I grumbled, he didnât exactly know what my grandma was bothering me for, I never actually told him, because then he'll act like Mr. Matchmaker, and hook me up with any dumb-ass pretty girl, that would just annoy me. I liked being alone, I was use to it. Zac was use to my grumbling, so he knew exactly what I said.
"You know she just cares."
"I know, but she doesnt need to, I'll be fine." Zac knew me enough to not stay on the subject long.
"So are you coming with me to the party tonight?"
"I have work to do."
"You always have worked to do, live a little," I gave him a glare. "I'm going to make you go one of these days," Zac always said that after I said no.
I went to my classes, lecture after boring lecture. I probably knew more than the teachers did. Not to sound cocky but, I was Valedictorian, I graduated with a 4.0, I was the quarterback for a year before my dad made me quit, and I was voted as the hottest guy in high school. Everything comes easy to me, especially math. I took the highest math class and it still was challenging, and before you get confused no I am not a nerd, I'm just a good looking guy with brains to match.
Later that day before I left school Zac tried to persuade me one more time to go to the party and once again I declined, I had to get to the office.
I went straight to work taking the elevator to my floor.
"Good evening Mr. Colton, your mother is in your office."
"Thank you Susan," I then walked away from my plump, brunette secretary, and walked to my office.
I saw a short woman with long black hair, a high-fashioned dress, and matching shoes; my mother.
"Yes mother, what do you want?"
"I donât want anything, son. I just came to see you," I held no emotion on my face.
"Smile for me my only baby boy!" I blinked, and then her smile formed into a thin straight line; that was the mother I knew.
"Seriously, whatâs wrong with you? Do you have depression of something? I didnât raise you to-"
"You didnât raise me," her mouth formed an 'o' like she had just been slapped.
"Blaze Eli Colton, I will not be disrespected!" Oh, so now I'm disrespecting her by telling the truth.
"Anyway, your father wanted me to come check on you, the business, and his mother. How is she?"
"She's fine, I'm fine, and the business is fine."
"When did you get so snappy? I remember when you were five and you looked under our neighborâs dog and said 'I have those!'"
"That wasnât you who I told, you werenât even there, and it was Grams."
"Oh, well I still remember it! Well baby I'll see you soon, your Dad and I are going to the Bahamas." Then she proceeded out of the door, and when I couldnât here the constant click of her heels I knew she was gone.
I sighed and got back to work, when I was done, it was around 11:00 p.m. and I was tired. I trudged to my limo, where my driver then took me home. My Grandma was there.
"Grams, what are you doing here?"
"I came to check on you, smile for me," I groaned.
"You sound just like my mother."
"Can you at least try?" My face twitched up, my teeth were showing, not a smile, but a close enough to where my Grandmother would get off my back about it. It's not like I'm incapable of smiling, I just donât think thereâs anything to smile about.
"You wanted something Grams?"
"Yes, remember what I told you earlier?"
"Of course how could I forget." I grumbled, keeping in the sarcastic comment that just wanted to come out.
"You need to find a girl."
"I have and she's perfect wife material, I just wasnât ready for her to meet everyone." I told her lying through my teeth.
"Oh really? Thatâs great, what is she like?"
"She's pretty, smart and cheerful." I told her listing the 3 main attributes she wanted in a girl for me.
"That's great! Maybe she can get you to smile. How long have you been keeping her from me?"
"Four months," something told me these lies would catch up with me, because now I had to find this girl. I mean of course I have girls wanting me, but she needs to be smart, and perfect.
"When are you going to pop the big question?"
"I donât know, give it some more time Grams."
"Oh, I canât wait to meet her, and plan the wedding with her. Shoot, I had this whole persuading argument planned out. I was even thinking arranged marriage."
"Good thing then huh. Well Grams itâs late and I have school and work tomorrow. You should be getting home," I rushed.
"I guess you're right, I'll see you later grandson." She smiled and kissed my cheek. I loved my Grandmother, she was just overbearing all the time.
And donât let the expressionless face, mix with not feeling. I find things amusing; I know when a girl is hot. I just rather not show it through facial expressions, and donât think I donât get it in because I have an active sex life. It's just got it and go.
I trudged up to my room stripped and got into the bed tomorrow I was going wife searching. The next day I was woke up by Zac.
âZac, dude what are you doing here so early?â
âIâm here to help you with the lie you just told your grandmother about.â
âWoah how do you know about it?â
âWell your grandmother canât stop blabbing about it, and I mean it will make it the media sooner or later.â
âUh, I only have today to find a girl whoâs perfect.â
âI have the perfect girlâ Zac said with a smile I knew that meant I was in for it.
I would scream 'there's a bomb in the building'
For 31 Seconds Alone
Break the hands on the clocks
I would change all the locks in a minute
For 31 Seconds Alone
