Oh no, did I get too close?
Oh, did I almost see?
What's really on the inside
All your insecurities
All the dirty laundry
Never made me blink one time
So come just as you are to me
Don't need apologies
Know that you are all worthy
I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm I would
I do it all because I love you
I will love you unconditionally

Sageâs Pov.
The next couple of weeks pass by as normally as possible with all the âsexual tensionâ as Aubrey liked to call it. When it was finally time to go back to school, it was weird seeing Marnie again.
She would prance up to Blaze as if I wasnât even there and say âHiâ in the most seductive voice she could muster, and rub a hand down his chest while she was at it. I didnât even have to say anything because Blaze would do that for me, by yanking her hand off of him and telling her not to touch him.
I would smile and pull him with me to our seats. Zac has been less worrisome lately. Heâs been just going with the flow and hitting on Lana; basically being his normal self. It was Friday night, we had nothing to do, and the gang was over just chilling around the house.
âAhba,â Matthew squeaked and Mark immediately picked him up and laid him down on Aubreyâs lap who started to play with the babyâs legs, which caused him to squeal with laughter. I smiled at them; they truly were a cute little family. I felt eyes on my face so I looked up and when I did, Blaze looked away. That was strange.
I guess Blazeâs Father called because he looked at the phone confused but left the room anyway. I turned my attention to Zac, who just shrugged completely confused.
Lana decided to start talking, âSo are you raising him as your own? Or will you tell him about his mom?â She was sitting on the recliner; Zac was on the floor at her feet, his head resting on her thigh. She just absentmindedly played with his hair.
âWe decided to tell him heâs our nephew. Thereâs no telling how many times his mom will show up in his life and we couldnât just shut her out.â Mark replied looking up for a brief moment before looking back down at the baby.
âHe doesnât need her in his life; heâll be fine without her.â Zac muttered bitterly, closing his eyes in relaxation.
âI hate her just as much as you Zac, but I wonât raise him to hate his mom, heâll have him own views on her as the time comes. I donât have any faith in her, but maybe he will. Maybe sheâll come around and be able to visit. I already sent the guardianship papers to her.â Aubrey told us with a smile.
Then Blaze came out with a scowl on his face, and dropped his phone on the table. So Zac braved his bad mood and asked, âSo whatâs with the mean look?â
Blaze eyes dropped down to me, then back to Zac. âMy Father wants me to come to a dinner with the family tonight.â I smiled but was confused as to why he emphasized me.
âSoo basically youâre just waiting for us to invite ourselves. Well no need to ask, weâre coming. Weird enough he didnât invite Sage, heâs planning something, and weâre going to crash it!â Zac beamed at everyone in the room, and I swear we all had the same thought on our mind. His dad was planning to sabotage something.
I dragged Blaze into the bedroom and sat him down on the bed, he was going to help me pick out something, knockout, so that I could prove his dad wrong. If I get on Blazeâs Fatherâs good side, maybe Blaze will consider not ending the deal, and making it real.
âWhat are we doing?â Blaze asked, his green eyes twinkling in confusion mixed with anticipation.
âWell, I want to show off in front of your parents, to play up what good fiancé I am to you. So weâre going to pick me out something. Even though this is just a deal I want to be on their good side ya know?â He just nodded at me.
I pulled the shirt I was wear over my head and pulled down my jogging pants. Donât worry; I was wearing shorts and a tank top underneath. But I did notice Blaze staring at me, as if he was in a trance. This is what Aubrey meant by the sexual tension, even I could feel it. Even though Blaze wasnât attracted to me mentally, physically he was, and that made me feel a little better.
I turned into the closet and pulled out an arm full of dress and these would be the ones we would be choosing from.
âNot the Dolce, my momâs in an argument with their owner right now. Go for any Gucci or Chanel dresses.â I still found that as weird talent, he could look at any piece of clothing and tell what brand they were without even looking at the tag, but it was a talent nonetheless.
He watched my take off and try on dresses for about ten minutes without getting bored or turning away. It made me very aware of myself honestly, and made me feel a little bit sexy. To be completely honest the whole situation felt really intimate.
We finally came to a decision and sat it out with his clothes and I got redressed and we headed back out to where our friends were.
When the time finally came I got into my black Chanel dress and slid on my black heels. I walked up to Blaze who was fixing his polo cuffs on his shirt. âCan you zip me up?â I asked innocently, and I swear he took the most time he could zipping up the rest of my dress. His warm hand touched my back and he pulled the zipper up slowly, everything was just too much for me so I back away quickly and looked him in the eyes. He didnât say anything, just looked at me back for a moment before turning away.
I let Aubrey and Lana borrow some of my dresses and shoes, and Mark borrowed Blazeâs. We all got into the car and headed to Blazeâs parentâs mansion.
âBlaze! Hi baby, I donât know why your father didnât invite Sage, but sheâs always welcome. Iâm glad you came!â She beamed at me and her son.
âWe brought everyone else too, Mrs. Colton.â I added in quietly, looking at the lady from whom Blaze got his eye and hair color from. She was wearing a dress that Iâm sure was very expensive and Iâm sure Blaze could tell what it was, but I couldnât.
âOh! Well I better go tell the chef to bring out all the food.â
âWell, hello Blaze,â Marnie purred running her hand down his chest. Marnie looked like a model tonight, with a deep red dress, bright red lipstick, and a seemingly light amount of makeup on. âItâs nice to see you here.â
âMarnie donât touch my fiancé or youâll draw back a nub,â I wasnât having any of her bullshit today. Sheâs what his dad was planning. He didnât invite me because he was trying to push Marnie on Blaze. Blaze walked in and ahead of us, probably to go get Grams.
âListen here peasant; Blazeâs parents will always like me more. Thereâs no point in you even being here.â She told me in the foyer. I rolled my eyes not buying any of it, she might have Mr. Colton but I have the others and thatâs more important I think. Well actually probably not, Mr. Colton runs Blazeâs life.
âHis mom loves me, and so does Grams, canât say the same for you. Iâll always have one person important over you, Blaze loves me.â I smiled at her, even though I was lying through my teeth and walked out to where Blaze and Grams were.
âSAGE!â Grams all but yelled she came over and hugged me tightly; she basically squeezed the life out of me. I looked up to see Blaze smiling at us; I gave a quick smile back. I looked over to Marnie to see her shocked out of her mind.
âDidâdiâdid he just smile?â I gave her a pointed look with a smile(like yes bitch I'm the cause of that smile), and Grams let go. Not hearing Marnie at she started walking to the kitchen table, by now the gang was inside.
We sat at a long table that was made out of wood. Blazeâs dad was at the head of the table with a grimace on his face; Mrs. Colton was beaming at all of us being here. Mr. Colton made eye contact with me and I shot him a smile, but he glared at me. Getting on his good side was not going to happen; I could tell you that now.
âLook how lovely Marnie looks in that dress, son.â Blaze said nothing, he didnât even spare him a glance, he was too busy helping me with the place setting and sitting the napkin on my lap. We both reached for the napkin and our hands touched. He kept his hand there and I looked up at him and gave a small smile, and his mouth twitched up, and I knew that was as close as a real smile we were going to get in front of his family.
âBlaze Iâm sure Cilantro can do that herself. Look at Marnie sheâs dignified, she can do it herself.â Mr. Colton said.
âIâm sure Sage can do it herself if she wanted to, she just wants Blaze to help. Theyâre a young couple still doing cute things for each other.â Mrs. Colton countered with a giggle. "Also Sage I love the dress choice!"
âYou know Marnie goes to school with you?â Mr. Colton added, sticking his fork into his steak roughly.
âYeah and we wish she didnât.â Zac laughed and caused everyone else to laugh also, this earned glares from both Marnie and Mr. Colton.
âWhat are you going to school for, child?â Grams asked Marnie being polite.
âWell uhm I wanted to be a makeup artist,â typical, âbut now Iâm not sure, maybe a good housewife, or a fashion designer.â I think she said that last one just to get on Mrs. Coltonâs good side. I looked at Mrs. Coltonâs face that grimaced and had a hard time swallowing her food.
âOh, thatâs nice. Go for your dreams.â
âDid you know Marnie is the heir to her Fatherâs Restaurant chain? Wouldnât that be a great combination, for her to become a Colton and merge the businesses?â Mr. Colton voiced while cutting a piece of his potato. He said it so nonchalantly like he wasnt saying it in front of what he knew to be Blaze's fiance. He didnt know about the deal.
I chocked and Blaze patted my back to help me get it back up. He wiped his mouth and threw his napkin down onto the plate. He pushed his chair back with a nasty screech on the floor.
"Do you have another kid that'll marry her or something?" Blaze sneered. Matthew starts to cry and Aubrey tried to shush him, to make this moment less awkward. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away and up the stairs. I was trying to keep up with his steps which were pretty hard seeing as Blaze was ten times taller than me and practically dragging me. It gave me a sense of déjà Vu since this happen when I first met him too.
âSage, Iâm sorry for my Fatherâs rudeness. It wasnât meant to be like that.â He told me his sincerity in his eyes, he looked at me his green eyes glowing with that look he was giving me when we were back at home and I was trying on the dresses. The room was dark, only the moon giving off light from the huge bay widow. Blaze was standing by the door, I couldnât see his face only his electric eyes. I was sitting on the bed comfortable.
Blaze walks up to me and looks me in the eyes for a good minute, then kisses me with a passion that was fierce. I wrapped my arms around his head and he leaned me down on the bed. This was all the sexual frustration that Zac was talking about.
Blazeâs hands were feeling up the outside of dress rubbing up and down my sides. My hands went to his hair and then down his back to his sides, my nails digging into them again. My actions cause him groan and try to unzip my dress, and I was going to let him. This was the heat of the moment and I was in love with him. His warm hands touch the top of my vertebra, and started to unzip slowly; bare in mind we barely came up for air from the kiss, and when we did he would head straight to my neck and end up at my lips again. I pulled his dress shirt from being tucked into his pants, and dig my nails into his bare skin, this does nothing but fuel Blazeâs kisses and he puts his tongue into my mouth pulling me closer and his hands on my back going lower.
The door opens abruptly, the door slams into the wall with a nasty crack and Blazeâs dad storms in angrily. âDonât knock up this low-budget girl. Your marriage wonât last and Marnie doesnât need to raise someone elseâs child. Then youâll be stuck with the thing to remind you of mistakes.â He sneered with disgust, Blaze got off of me standing up his full height which was the same as his dad, if not a little taller.
âOkay, thatâs it. Iâm tired of you putting Sage down, sheâs a lovely girl and Iâm marrying her no matter what. Canât you see that I love her?â Even though it was a lie, hearing those words made me feel better than anything else could have. Such a beautiful lie those words were.
âYou sound like a fucking dumbass. I didnât raise you to be stupid, I raised you to work, not make a slacker baby with her. The business is what you were born to do and itâs what you will do. Sheâs nothing but a distraction to you and taking away from your responsibilities.â He yelled, and scolded Blaze for the mere thought of me, he didnât just dislike me; he hated me. I now understood one reason why Blaze hated his dad; he judged people way harsher than normal people. He didnât like you if you werenât like him, he was a control freak. If you werenât who he picked or how he wanted something then it had to go. He wanted Blaze to be like him; to be another him.
âSheâs only trying to help me live a little.â Blaze tried to reason, as if he knew what his dad was thinking. The room was still dark and you could literally feel the tension in the room, the hate was strong, and I didnt know who it was stronger from, Blaze or his dad.
âIâm done arguing, do you want me to do it? I will ruin it donât think I wonât because I will. I knew letting you go over that Zachary kidâs house would be a bad influence but no your mother wanted you to have a âlittle normalâ. Ugh those kids are imbeciles,â He ranted his brown eyes fiery.
âHe canât be too much of an imbecile, heâs becoming a lawyer,â I pitched in glaring at him for even calling Blazeâs friends a bad influence.
âDid I ask you to speak? Blaze fine you have your little thing with this girl, Iâll allow it but once you slack off on work again it will be done. Life as she knows it will be over.â All I could do was stare at him as if he was a monster. I stood behind Blaze disgusted.
âI dont need your permission to speak. Youâre a horrible man, if you think controlling your sonâs life is helping him! Heâs not becoming who you want him to be so youâre ruining everything for him!â I spat out a little angry but Blaze was holding me back, not saying a word. His green eyes no longer had a spark in them, if anything they were duller and lacking their usual glow. They were starting to hallow and I didnât like that look.
âHeâs lucky Iâm allowing him to be friends with the rest of them still, all he needs to do is get rid of you in a couple of months and everything will go back to normal, youâll still be normal. Donât you understand that you donât belong here? He was doing fine before you, and heâll do fine without you.â That part was true, itâs not like he was super unhappy with his life before I came along, I was just helping him with his mom and grandmother and I was his charity case. But one thing I can say though he was indifferent at first, I made him happy.
His father walked out the door and slammed it on his way. I sat on the bed awkwardly. Zac knocked a couple of seconds later.
âI heard everything⦠Thanks little one. I uh think we should go. Mattâs getting bad vibes and wonât stop crying and I think everyone just needs a little space.â Zac uttered and I just followed him, I didnât even care that my dress was unzipped in the back or that I looked like hell, I just needed to get out of that house. Blaze followed silently, and when we made it to the door Aubrey, Lana, Mark and Matthew were already there.
Marnie was glaring at my appearance in the corner, and Mrs. Colton tried to lighten the mood but failed completely. âSo were you two starting on the grandkids?â She added a wink for effect, and it did make me embarrassed but Blaze was too pissed to blush about the joke.
âIâm not up for the crap, mother. Weâre leaving and donât expect us to come back for a while, and if youâre going to invite us over make sure the whore isnât here or l'impitoyable tyran (French: the Ruthless Tyrant)â. And Iâm sure those last words were neither English nor Spanish.
âOh mon chérie, je suis tellement désolée (oh dear, Iâm so sorry),â She blubbered, and whatever she was saying Blaze wasnât accepting it. He already on a thin string with his parents and the argument with his dad didnât help.
âGarde tes excuses pour toi ça ne nous aidera pas (Keep your excuses for you it does not help us),â he told her and stepped through the door heading towards the car.
We silently followed him towards the car, and we rode home in complete silence, no one knew the trigger to set Blaze off and no one was willing to test it.
He went to our room and slammed the door, and I took that as I was sleeping on the couch. Isnât this suppose to the other way around if this was a stereotype? I sighed and curled up on the couch, I would give Blaze sometime to cool down.
Do you hate Blaze's Dad or what? What about Mrs. Colton? Do you think Blaze and Sage are getting closer or further apart?
Boy you can put me on you
Like a brand new white tee
I'll hug your body tighter
Than my favorite jeans
I want you to caress me
Like a tropical breeze
Touch my body
Put me on the floor
Wrestle me around
