"Dont be a chance misser. You already missed enough chances take this one thats right in front of you, even if it turns out to be wrong."-Zac Taylor

I'm staring at him

But I forget to pick my face up off the floor

I feel like a fool

And even though I do

I only wanna tell him that I love him more, more

Maybe, maybe in another life

I could be the girl who walks up to the guy

And tells him, tells him how she feels inside

But, not tonight, tonight-Elle Varner, Not Tonight

Sage’s Pov

I woke up with a smile on my face but once I realized that the weekend was over, and that I had to get up and go to work and school, it wiped off my face quickly. School was bearable because of the classes I have with Blaze and then a café spot with Zac while Blaze was in his extra class.

The day went by normal until Zac and I got into the café. Zac was still teasing me about Blaze and I falling.

“You know, I think you two are gonna be the kind of couple that has four kids.”

“What! I would never push that many out of me.”

“So you’re not denying the fact that you're going to have kids with Blaze someday?”

“Zac are you always going to tease me like this?”

He beamed at me, what all girls would consider a heartbreaker smile. “Of course I will little one.”

Marnie then pranced over in her three sizes too small yoga pants and her shirt that was probably still in the baby section at the mall, making her chest look bigger, and sat down right next me. She was so close that I could smell her expensive but heavily put on perfume. Her glossed lips were swollen and red around the edges. You could tell that she just gotten done doing something nasty with a guy.

“What do you want Marnie?” Zac asked rolling his eyes.

“What? I can’t just come and visit my Blaze’s- Opps! I mean Blaze’s new girlfriend?”

“Fiancé,” Zac corrected with a smirk, which caused this wicked witches cauldron to bubble over.

“What!”She screamed, angry at her newly acquired information. “He would marry this low-class weirdo with no future or money, over me!”

“Excuse you, but I do have a future and unlike you, I work for it. Yes, maybe you are a trust-fund baby, with lots of money, but I have more class than you’ll ever have.”

She opened her mouth to make a remark, but it closed, then made an ‘o’ like she’s been slapped. I looked towards the door and saw Blaze walking over.

“Blaze-y did you hear all the mean things she said to me?” She asked him hanging onto his jacket, fake crying. I have to say she was an alright thespian, she brought on the tears quite quickly. Blaze simply pried her hands off of him and walked over to me and Zac.

He pulled me up and out of my seat, wrapped his arms around me, and kissed me on the lips. I didn’t even have time to react. I melted into him right away, even though the kiss only lasted like 30 seconds. Blaze pulled away with a blank look, and Zac had the hugest smile he could muster, on.

Marnie looked even more pissed if that was possible. She looked as if she wanted to burn me alive with her eyes and tap dance on my ashes.

“I missed you,” he stage whispered.

“Blaze,” I giggled. “It’s only been an hour or two,” I smiled pulling him closer, and softly kissing him on the lips again.

“Hmph!” Marnie said with her nose raised high, “I’ll see you tomorrow then Blaze-y.” She stormed off, jealous, with loud clicks of her four inch heels she was wearing.

Blaze wrapped an arm around my shoulders and told Zac to come on. I was wondering where this extra happiness came from. Blaze opened the door for me and I got in. As we pulled away Zac finally asked the question we all wanted to know.

“What was that bro? You just laid one on her, no one was expecting it.”

I made eye contact with Blaze, when he just shrugged. “We needed to make this look real, so I did.” If that was acting than he was better actor then I thought. The thought made me sad, but I didn’t dwell on it, this was just a deal, something that would help my financial problems, and his family problems. Something told me that living with him and getting to know him will only further complicate things, and I would be left with a broken heart and he would be moved on. But I wouldn’t keep thinking of my lonely future, I would enjoy this while I can.

“Hey, let’s go visit my sister!” Zac said to ease that now gloomy mood that I gave off.

“Uh, yeah sure. You think she’ll like me?” I asked shyly.

“Yeah, of course she will, it’s hard for Aubrey to not like anyone” Blaze snorted.

“So I take it, she’s really nice?”

“The nicest person you’ll probably ever meet! She’s a little over-whelming at times, but you’ll get use to her.” I felt bad, because I was meeting yet another person in Blaze and Zac‘s life and I was deceiving them. What if I turned out to like Aubrey and we become friends?

I sighed and leaned against the window, falling into a light sleep. My heart started to beat frantically, my palms started to sweat, and a fire deep in my heart ignited. My eyes popped open immediately knowing who was making me feel like this, I just jumped up in the seat causing us to bump heads, since he was leaning over me.

“Fuck, Sage! What was that for?” He asked groaning and rubbing his forehead.

“Oh, I’m so sorry; I didn’t know-you-I reacted. Here let me check your head!” I blubbered. I grabbed his I leaned out of my seat and over to his removing his hand off his head to check for any bruising I might have caused. Being me and kind of clumsy I managed to lean to far over and fall flat on his lap. When I pulled up our faces were about three inches apart.

My breathing hitched and was becoming shallower, as his eyes bore into mine. I wanted to do anything, run out of the car, or look away, anything! But no such luck, his emerald eyes entranced me. He closed his eyes and was leaning in and I closed mines, also. His lips brushed against mines, softly first before going in on them roughly, like this is what he’s been waiting for. His hands found their way into my hair, and pulled me closer, his lips hungrily on mine. I pushed my face closer desperate, not getting enough of Blaze. I only kissed one boy before and it was nothing like this. The sparks that exploded from our mouths, and our lips moving in sync, I was in a toe curling kiss. Did he feel it too? I hoped he did, but I knew it couldn’t, and probably wouldn’t happen again because it would only further complicate our deal.

Suddenly the door opened, and a blonde looked in, saying “Hey, Blaze long time no… see.” She realized the position we were in and she smiled embarrassed and backed away from the car.

“I’m so sorry Blaze! I didn’t know. Since when did you get a girlfriend? I’m so proud. You know Blaze isn’t the settling type. She’s so pretty; I didn’t mean to just interrupt you two, from your tonsil hockey. It’s just that Blaze doesn’t come around as often anymore, and I was excited to see him, I’m sorry your name is?”

Blaze just stared at her with his mouth open, because of the rambling she just did. I shot her a shy small smile it’s not the best way to first meet someone.

“Uhm, I’m Sage.”

“Okay, so I never met one of Blaze’s hoes before so you must not be one… Well except for Marnie, and that was because she grew up with them. Even as a girl she was promiscuous, she and her friends even tried to copy the Mean Girls Jingle Bell Rock skit for our spring talent show. Yeah, imagine five fourteen year old girls in clothing that leaves nothing to the imagination, you should know how that went. I mean you would think her mom would have cut the idea out real quick once she told her, but no she just had to let her daughter turn into a hoe, even though I guess parents really have no say so in their children’s lives out of home really, unless they see it. But I-“

“Aubrey! Shut up!” Blaze growled.

“Opps! My bad, I started to ramble again. I tend to do that Sage, get use to it.” She looked me up and down in observation. “She’s a simple girl, gee Blaze where did you find this one, she a good girl.”

He simply glared at her, and we all kind of looked at each other for a couple of minutes.

“Well the girls want dinner, so I’m going to go make food…. I hope you two make it to the house soon. I’d like to get to know Sage better.” Then she skipped merrily, up her driveway and into the house.

Blaze simply looked at me, his green orbs not giving away any emotions.  I opened my mouth to say something but, nothing came out. What could I say? I liked that you kissed me, but I’m sorry for it? Yeah that sounds stupid!

I said “I’m sorry,” at the same time Blaze said “It shouldn’t of happen.”

“What?” I asked him to be clear.

He sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair. “It shouldn’t of happen. I don’t want you to start thinking things that won’t be. It would only further complicate the deal, and would leave you wanting something I can’t give to you and that’s unfair. I like you Sage, and I just wouldn’t want to hurt you like that.”

“Hey, it’s fine” I lied hoping he wouldn’t notice the crack in my voice. That hurt, it hurt really badly and I don’t know why. I don’t like Blaze… Why am I lying? I was falling and falling hard for no apparent reason. He doesn’t want me, and I’m going to accept that.

“Uhm, let’s go see Aubrey!” I said in a fake happy, but softly spoken voice.

I got off of him and climbed out of the door. He came around and we walked up the driveway, then into the house. I wasn’t going to cry, I couldn’t, well at least not in front of him.

When we made it to the room that Zac was in, he looked up from the computer and frowned when he saw me.

“Why do you look so sad Sage, you were just happy when we got here?”

“I’m not sad, I’m happy! Don’t worry about me Zac, I’m fine.” He gave me a look that tells me that I will have to tell him later.

“Hey, Sage come here!” Aubrey screamed, and I went and Zac and Blaze followed. She poured us something to drink.

“So how’s you and Blaze’s bedroom life?” I started to choke on my spit. Blaze spits out his drink, and Zac couldn’t stop laughing.

“Wh-wh-what?” I asked.

“You know, how is he? Is he any good haha?”

I looked at Zac and he just shrugged like this was a common question.

“Uh-uh-, uhm, well I-I’m not su-sure-sure what-“ Then I was cut off by Blaze.

“You don’t have to answer that question Sage.” Blaze said rolling his eyes.

“Oh, so you two haven’t done it yet? Interesting, aww what’s stopping you Blaze?”

“Can we not talk about this?” Then I turned to Zac, “You’re sister and you are just alike! You like to tease me! But hers is wayyy more personal than yours.”

I can't help being depressed

When I look down at my chest

Oh yes, my chest it might as well be nonexistent

How can I ever compete With 34 double D's?

If I had no cellulite

Big breasts and pockets real wide

Then maybe I

Maybe I, I,

I could be so fly.-Elle Varner, So Fly
