On The Other Hand
New was crying on his bed it's since an hour but he can't stop his tears, suddenly he heard a knock on his bedroom door he know it must be his mom so he said to come in & saw his mom coming he set down on the bed and hugged her as soon as she sat beside him
"Why mom........ why did he does that to me," he said crying hugging his mom
"Shhh calm down I know what he did was not right...... but baby, think what if he would have married you and still loved someone else that would be more wrong na baby," she said as she has known how difficult it is to win someone else love
"But I love him, mom," New said to his mom with eyes still filled with tears
"I know, baby I know, well let me tell you something," she said and New looked at her wiping his tears
"When I married your dad he loved someone else...... and he was forced to marry me just because we were already arranged..... it was so difficult he doesn't want to even be around me it was really the worst phase for me," she said wiping her own tears which she doesn't know when started to slide down from her eyes
New looked at her shocked he doesn't have any idea about this and he can't believe his lovely parents who look so in love were like this
"But mom dad looks at you with so much love," he asked her & she bitterly chuckled and Said
"Yes, because he loves me now but it was so bad in the start......... that was also the reason he supported Off...... because he knows how it feels like to be in love with someone else and marry someone else..... sure he loves me now but he still might regret his decision and we don't want that to happen to you.... right baby..... we don't want you to be someone's compromise," she said smiling sadly
New hugged her more tightly hearing her & she caressed New's head as he lay on her lap and slept hugging her like a baby she smiled looking at him she know she have to convince him of the marriage but she also knows that this is not the right time She knows her baby Needs some time
Also, she is ok with this marriage of his son with Tay only because she had seen the love and admiration in Tay's eyes for New she wants them married because she knew Tay loves New and he is a nice boy too who will always going to protect his polar bear she also know that what New think as love is not Love he just likes the idea of loving Off because love is something else and that love is what he sees in Tay's eyes, pure love but what New had for Off is just an admiration
But she can't say anything to New, she knows how his son reacts about this he is stubborn so lets it be as she knows he will understand it once he will really gonna falls for someone
She left New when she saw that New had already dozed off so she put his head slowly on the pillow and looked at him sleeping peacefully
Two days later
After that day New was a bit better now....... as he thought from the point of view of his mother but still, he wasn't fully fine.... he always stays in his room for the last two days no one talked to him about the marriage yet and he has no clue about it he just wanted to be alone and his parents give him the privacy he needed
Whereas, Tay told his father that he is ready to marry New only if New agrees also he told them to not force New if he doesn't want to
New was sitting in his room when his mom knocked on the door he said to come in and she entered she came and set beside him she was a bit nervous but she knew she have to do it as they don't have much time
"Baby I want to talk to you about something really important," she said and New nodded at her
"You know that this marriage was so important for your dad and Mr. Viho right," she said and New nodded again
He doesn't know what is left to talk about this but he still lets her speak
"Well you know everything is on stack our reputation, company, and both family's relation too," she said
New doesn't react to that as he knew where this is going to go somewhere he won't gonna like but he still chooses to listen
"Well as the names of the two heirs are not announced in the media we proposed the only solution for this problem is to arrange your marriage with Tay" she hesitantly said
New was shocked is an understatement he knew something would come but he wasn't expecting this how can they do this with them after what happened with Off and New
"What are you saying mom," he said skeptically
"Well we don't have any option baby the marriage news is all over and this is the only solution we have come up with but it's still up to you we will not gonna force you but I want you to at least think about it", she said assuring him
"What did Tay say about this proposal," he asked as he was curious what Tay's reaction could be as he doesn't like New even a little bit (if only you knew babe)
"He said he is ok if you agree to this", she told him with a smile on her face
New was shocked again Tay accepted the wedding....... He can't believe it but then well what more options do they have he thought
"Ok mom I will tell you and dad my decision at the dinner", he said
"Ok love", she said and kissed New's forehead before living
The day got ended really fast the time for dinner was already there and New was ready with his decision too as he had thought about this a lot
After completing the dinner in silence New's dad asked "So have you made your decision New"
He wasn't forcing New but they doesn't have much time because if New doesn't want to agree they have to do something else for their company for their reputation
"Yes dad I am ready to marry Tay," he said and his parents were so happy his mother even came and hugged him then she broke the hug and New looked at them
"But before that, I want to talk to Tay then I will tell you my final decision," he said and they agreed they were happy that at least New is not fully denying it
Whereas New wants to be sure that Tay is not Marrying him because they forced him he doesn't want something like what happened with Off to happen again
After that, he bid goodbye to his parents to go to his room he then laid on his bed and looked at the ceiling, and again thought about his decision
Well it was ok for him because he know how important it was for his parents also he believes that he won't ever have a love marriage he wasn't that time of a person he was brought up with the idea of arranged marriage all his life so this means, in the end, he will have to marry some stranger his parents will find for him
So marrying his old best friend is better than marrying some stranger also New wants to know what Tay thoughts about this ....... does he really get ready so easily and if he does that means the Matter is serious and he doesn't want to trouble his parents more too so he decided to just go with the flow
Now he was just waiting to talk to Tay so he can know why all of a sudden Tay agreed to marry him when he doesn't even talk to New properly in the past 6-7 years and even if he talked it was only rudely, what exactly has changed in Tay's mind now then
Time skip
The next day the Vihokratana family called the Thitipoom's for dinner it's not anything special its just their usual thing...... as both families always spend time together they are like a big family more than friends or neighbors
In the start, New doesn't want to go as he has to see Off and his husband but then his mom told him that he can talk with Tay and tell the final decision as it is only 8 days left before the wedding day so New agreed, he knows things are going so fast but he can't do anything
They made their way into the Vihokratana mansion and settled to talk they were behaving as if nothing has changed but New was feeling the tension in the Atmosphere anyone who doesn't know the family will think they are ok....... but the happy ambiance they use to have was missing and only the closer ones knows that
After some time they had their dinner the food was amazing like always While eating he got a glimpse of Off who was very lovingly putting a dessert on his husband's plate and gun blushing looking at him they really are enjoying themselves and looking so in love
New felt that similar pang on his chest again & now it becomes so difficult for him that for the first time in history he didn't have his dessert He excused himself from the rest of the family as he was feeling nauseous so he decided to go and stood in the balcony he always comes here when he wants to be alone

Tay saw that, he saw everything how New's mood changed after seeing OffGun how he didn't eat his dessert and how he looked so sad
Tay was feeling the same he can't see his love his jolly New like this upset...... for New, he might be just an old friend but for Tay, New is his whole world
After everyone settled in the living room again for their talking session Tay stood in the corner listening to them that's When New's mom came near him
"Tay" she called him and he looked at her
"Yes Ma," he said they all have called each other's parents mom dad, or ma pa since childhood they have been like a big family since the start
"Go talk to him Tay.... he wants to talk to you about marriage and he needs someone right now," she said to him and he looked at her confusedly
"I don't think he needs me of all the people," he said sadly and she can see the sadness in his eyes
"Believe me, Tay you are the person he needs the most right now, the one who truly loves him," she said and Tay was shocked is an understatement
"What are you saying Ma," he said and looked everywhere else except at her trying to deny the fact that she might know that he love New
"I know Tay and I am so happy, you are the perfect one for him and I am not saying this now just because I want you guys married or because of the announcement but I have always thought that you would be the perfect one for my New "she paused and Tay looked at her can't really know how to react about this
"Yes Tay, the love I have seen in your eyes is enough to tell me how much he means to you," she said and Tay hugged her
He has always been close to New's mom even more than his mom as she had always been close with Off and he doesn't know why he doesn't feel that free to talk with her...... about how he feels, but with New's mom, it was always easy she understands him so easily.... also he was her favorite whereas New & Off was His parent's favorite
He always thinks he could never become close to his mom like this Even if her all concentration was not on her business and Off (his mom works with his dad and she had always been close to Off more we could say a little biased for her firstborn)
"Thank you Ma, for trusting me I promise if we get married I will make him the happiest & even if we don't I will do my best to make him happy," he said & she smiled looking at him
"I know," she said happily
"Was I that obvious that you also knew Ma that I liked New?" he asked her and she chuckled and ruffled his hair
"No you were not, it was just a mother instinct but who else knows though," she asked as Tay said you also knew
"Off," he said and she smiled again thanking havens that Off knows because she might never get the courage to suggest TayNew's marriage because of New as he might hate her that she did that when he just got heartbroken
"Ok now go," she said and he smiled and left from there he made his way to the 1st-floor balcony New was at, he got there and stood beside him it took him around 2 minutes and lots of courage to say something
"Hi," he said
"Hi," New replied without even looking at him, after New's reply, they stood in silence again didn't know how to start the conversation
"Why did you agree to this marriage," New asked Tay after some time
"Because it's important for our families New you know that," Tay said as he knew he can't tell New that he love him At least not when he is just gotten his heart broken
"Really is this all...... is it that important that you are ready to marry the person you hate so much," New said
Tay immediately looked at him but New wasn't looking at him he was still looking straight but he a can feel a gaze on him
"I don't hate you New...... how can you think that," Tay said
"Really Tay, you don't hate me because your actions say differently...... it's been 7 years Tay, you haven't talked to me properly we use to be best friends, but...... you...... just stopped talking to me..... what, all didn't I try to talk to you, to know what I did wrong but no you just ignored me like I don't exist, " New said finally looking at him releasing all his frustration that he had on Tay all this year's
He was so upset with himself as he always thought he might do something so wrong that Tay hates him, he blamed himself for everything and that's why can't control the tears that are dropping from his eyes and for the first time in these 7 years Tay couldn't control himself so got near New and hugged him immediately as he was crying really bad now
"Shhh, New I am sorry........ I am so sorry I know it's all my fault please don't cry New, I don't hate you New I can't ever hate you" he said and wiped New's tears, When New calm down they distanced from each other again as it suddenly becomes awkward for them
"Then why, tell me Tay why did you do that" New asked it's really important for him to solve everything between them before the wedding
"I wasn't ready to accept your & Off's marriage," Tay said turning away so doesn't need to look at New
"Huh, what do you mean by that" New asked he can't understand what Tay is saying..... he can't understand whether Tay's behavior toward him was like that has anything to do with his and Off's wedding unless Tay liked him but that can't be possible right..... it can't happen Tay never showed any signs that he liked New... even he remembers Tay used to say that he will never gonna like someone like New when they were kids( it was a one-time thing also they were 10years at that time)
"Because we were best friends New, I wasn't ready to have a change in our relationship I wasn't ready to be your brother-in-law so I started distancing myself," he said and took a sigh
"I know it's stupid but at that time I thought that is the only way..... I mean I wasn't sure how should I be with you anymore as you were my brother-in-law all of a sudden I wasn't ready for the change of dynamics in our friendship " Tay said and New felt a bit relieved as he didn't know how would he react if Tay said it was because he liked him it would become awkward but thank god that was not the case
"Oh & so it took you exactly 7years to adjust," New asked bewildered by Tay's response
"No, I accepted that in a 1year but then we have already been apart long I felt like I already lost you and I couldn't get the courage to come & say sorry as I have already lost my best friend because of my stupidity," Tay said and looked down
"You really are stupid you know that right...... and how will you react now this is also a change in our dynamics I will be your husband now so will you going to ignore me after marriage..... How will you gonna accept this" New asked in a demanding tone with hands folded he also glared at Tay who stood there looking down don't know what to say
"Are you gonna answer or not," New said waiting for him to say something
"No New, I won't ignore you, I know I was stupid in the past but not now....... I know it will be difficult for us to accept each other as husbands and that's why I think we can start being friends again first and also I know....... actually we both know we have to marry someone one day so it's better to marry my long lost friend then a stranger " Tay said and New smiled it's true he thought the same too
New Agrees with Tay, he was happy Tay had understood his mistake & that they can be friends again he was happy that this marriage can at least give him his friend back, and about everything else he doesn't want to think
he has decided to go with the flow as now he knows that he can't have everything that he wants it all depends on their fate
"Ok so we can get married and be friends, but I still haven't forgiven you for what you did so you have to win my trust back," New said to Tay pointing a finger at him and warning him cutely with a pout and Tay cooed at him internally
"Ok I will do whatever I can do to win you New," he said & New smiled but he doesn't know the exact meaning behind Tay's words he will not only going to win back his friend but also gone win New's heart this time
After that, they made their way downstairs and told their families that they agrees to this wedding Both the families were so happy everyone hugged both of them and congratulated them after that they called it a night and made their way to their rooms & the other family to their house
Both Tay and New lay in their respective rooms thinking about the future that is waiting for them
