chapter 21

“where are they?” john said with his soon to be wife standing beside him. They were both gazing through the window into the dark forest. Its already 10 o clock and his parents are not back yet. Its pouring like cats and dogs out there. He was starting to worry. “ they’re probably spending their time in a movie or something. Maybe they want to give us some space?” Susan said. “something doesn't feel right…” he replied.He’s scared they may be in trouble. His thoughts was disturbed as the sound of footsteps coming the stairs.

John turned to face his sister. “ do you know where mom and dad is?” he asked. With the question said, both Scarlet’s and Danny’s face grimed. They nodded their heads. “well then?”. “Blake took em. They were trying to protect us.” Scarlet said. Shock was evident on john’s and Susan's faces. “WHAT!? WHY?!” john boomed. Susan tried to clam him down. “apparently we needed a pass from the alpha of the territory in order to enter, but we dint.” Danny said. “so his men took me in for interrogation” he continued. “you told him why your both here, so why is Blake still keeping our parents as prisoners?” john asked. “well… there was a bit of drama an-” Danny said while scratching the back of his neck. “LOOK we’ll fill you up on the details on the way there. Let’s just get them back now shall we.” Scarlet interrupted.

They all agreed on the plan. With the house locked and doubled checked. They got in to Jonny’s car and drove straight to the pack house.

*at pack house*

“john! John! Can you slow down and think!” Susan was shouting for john to stop. He got out of the car slamming the door shut with a loud bang. John was fuming, he stomped to the front door and busted the doors open. By now, Susan, Danny and Scarlet are behind him trying to hold him so that he wont do anything stupid. On the drive, Scarlet gave them the short story from why she left and their parents capture. She said she will tell him the whole story later.

The three were holding him by his arms and shoulder. Susan was trying to clam him and his wolf down. After Scarlet told him about Blake rejecting and humiliating her, their parents in the cellar. His wolf got really protective and angry. They were angry because his own sister dint tell him about her mate. He would have went straight up to the alpha and kick him in the nuts, hard! He was angry because of HIM, she had to leave.  John was feeling so guilty, he should have been a better brother. He should have known and protect her. His angry dropped a bit and his face gave a guilty expression to Scarlet. Showing her how sorry he was and how he should have protected her.

As if sensing her brother’s guilty vibe, she understood. She place her had on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze.“it wasn’t your fault Johnny… I wanted to leave. It was my choice that I dint want to tell you and burden you with it.” Scarlet said. “no. I should have protected you. im your brother, its my job to protect you. Its not a burden!” he said. “your younger than me, what would you have done? He would kill you for disrespecting him. I don’t want you to die. I dint want to- so I left.” she replied. John dint know what else to say, so he hugged her like his life depended on it. She hugged him back just as fiercely.

The hug was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. They were so in to the moment they dint notice a bunch of people where standing there watching, and in that bunch of people stood Blake starring at Scarlet. John and Scarlet unhooked their arms around each other and turned to face Blake.

“im guessing you-” Blake started but was interrupted as John suddenly pounced on him. Blake was shocked. They both fell to the ground. John was on top of Blake, he started hitting his face. “YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO MY SISTER?! YOU MOTHER FUCKER!” He screamed and continuously kept punching him in the face. As the message sank in, Blake knew what this was about. So he stay stilled and let him punch him. He deserved it. After a while, beta, Brian grabbed John by his collar and threw him off his alpha. John got up in a attack stance and snarled at Brian while Brian stood in front of his alpha in also an attack stance ready incase if John were to pounce again. “enough!” said Blake. With the alpha command, John reluctantly submit.Others near Blake cower down to the power all except Scarlet, she was his x-mate after all. Danny not being in to pack was also affected but not strongly. He flinched.

“knowing why you did it, I’ll let pass. But do it again and I wont hesitate to put you in your place. Do you understand.” Blake said. The alpha power was still rolling off him. With john’s punches, it left Blake’s face that had Scarlet’s previous damage return once more. “yes…” john said barely while trying to suppress a snarl. “good. Now as I was saying. I know why you’re here, your parents are in the cellar and they will be release.” he said. Danny was going to thank you but was interrupted as the alpha continued. “but only if you tell me the full story of why you’re here. And… both of you have to stay at the pack house.” he said. Scarlet was angry, you could see it on the face but she wanted their parents back. She was breathing hard but with one last heavy exhale “ fine…” she gave in.

“but I want a room with Danny” she smugly said back. Blake snarled at the though of his mate with that rogue in the same room. “no!” he snarled. “no room together, no stay in pack house” she said. “then your parents cant get out” he countered. “then we leave and never come back” Scarlet said in a dead low serious tone. She knew what she was gambling. If he doesn't take the bait she will never see her parents, John and Susan again.

Blake was taken back, she was serious. “No she cant leave! i cant win her back if she’s gone. Fuck. Well played Scarlet, well played…” Blake thought. He smirked at her. “very well… you will have a room with him” he said him is such disgust. “both your belongings will be collected and brought to your room. Now for the other part of the bargain. Why are you here?” he ask. “were here because of John’s and Susan’s weeding. Its in a week’s time correct?” Danny said. “ya” Susan said. “other than that, before the weeding we came here to visit my family. When the weeding and dinner is over we’ll be leaving so you wont have to worry about your rogue problem” Scarlet at the last part in a mocking tone.

“no!” Blake suddenly said. Every one looked at him confused except Scarlet, she just gave him a menacing smile. “what’s the matter alpha?” Scarlet said but it had a hidden meaning to it. She was going to stick it to him just like how he did it to her a long time a ago. “no-nothing… uh… will you visit your family again after the weeding?” Blake asked. “yes we will. So when the next time we come, tell your dogs to stand down.” she spat. Coby and his team, the people that brought in Danny growled at her. “oh so you’re the fucker and friends that beat my hubby for no fucking reason. “ she said. “you don’t shut up we’ll teach you a lesson too.” Coby spat back. Blake instantly circled his hands around Coby’s neck tightly. “if you or your team lay a finger on her, I WILL KILL YOU!” Blake ordered. With that, he let go of his chokehold and coughing Coby fell to the ground.

“so are we done with the interrogations alpha?” Scarlet said impatiently. Danny circled his left arm around Scarlet’s waist and pulled her closer to him. “yes… Brian will… show you to your room. Coby will release your parents…” he said in clenched teeth. We wanted to rip this guy’s head off for touching his mate. Danny gave him a sly smile “thanks” he said. Coby got off the floor and went to the cellars.

Minutes passed and their parents came in to view. John and Scarlet rushed to their parents. They engulfed each other in a family hug. Finally after so long, their family was finally whole again. Danny and Susan was watching them. Bruce, Scarlet father, looked up at the two. “why you standing there? Come here. Where not whole without you two.” he said. Danny and Susan soon were engulfed into a big hug.

all were gone except the hugging family and Blake. He stood there watching them. Feeling awkward and sad. “it should have been me in there.” he thought. Silently he left them to their reunion.
