I was just stunned by Pond's words, and he left without a 2nd look at me! The audacity of this guy. How does he drive me crazy like this consistently?
I heard my maid calling out for me to come eat. I went towards the dining table but saw no one. I went to the kitchen and saw Pond sitting at the small dining table and dishing food for me and himself.
He looked at me and smiled.
"Let's eat here, shall we? It's only the two of us, and we can chat with auntie as we eat. It will be more fun."
I nodded, sitting next to him. He had plated for me and asked my maid if she wanted to join us before he started eating. I just smiled to myself as I ate. My maid fussed over us, especially me, as she barely got to see me, and she's been around since I was a teenager. We chatted as we ate and Pond made sure I had a 2nd serving of everything.
Once we were done, we offered to clean up but she chased us away, asking us to go rest. I nodded and as we went back to my room, I called my stepdad to check on the situation which was still the same. He said he would be home in a bit and we ended the call.
We got to my room and Pond flopped onto the bed, exhausted. I think the time difference and jet lag was starting to hit him. He just cuddled a pillow and turned to his left. I sat down on the bed, next to him, just using my phone.
"Don't you want to nap?'
"You rest first. I don't feel too tired."
"Really?"
But Pond just pulled me to lie down next to him, facing him.
"Just lie down here and if you don't fall asleep in the next 10 minutes, you can do anything you want."
I chuckled, and nodded my head. I looked at him, just caressing his face absentmindedly. Soon, his eyes slowly closed and his breathing became regular as he drifted into heavy sleep. But oddly, watching him sleep, I cuddled closer to him and ended up closing my eyes.
Before I knocked out completely, I vaguely recall Pond placing his arm over me.
I woke up hours later, which only hit me when I saw the clock. It was easily 9pm. I sat up, quite awake, realizing I was alone in the room. I got out of bed, washed my face and went downstairs. I could hear people chatting in the living room.
I went down only to see Pond and my stepdad chatting away with my maid seated on the floor cutting fruits for them. I could hear both of them nagging at her to sit on the couch, but she refused to.
"Hey.." I called out.
My stepdad saw me and stood up, smiling as he grabbed me in a firm, warm hug. I leaned into his touch immediately, having missed him sorely. I pulled away and he ruffled my hair fondly, asking how was I. I nodded saying I really knocked out but feel much better now.
He nodded, saying yes and that it was good I napped. I looked over at Pond and asked him on what time he woke up and why didn't he wake me up too.
He laughed as he said he woke up 2 hours later and he did try to nudge me but I was dead to the world so he decided to let me sleep. I felt embarrassed but everyone just waved it away. My helper asked if I was hungry and I nodded. She was about to stand up to go get me dinner but Pond told her he had it and he went off instead. I just watched him go off and turned to my stepdad who was watching me with amusement and curiosity.
"So he's the boyfriend?"
I blinked and then blushed, but neither agreeing or disagreeing.
"He's Pond. He is in the same group as me for our band. He's the lead singer."
My stepdad looked at me and started laughing.
"So, you are going to ignore the boyfriend statement huh? And neither deny nor agree?"
I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to agree but I also definitely did not want to disagree.
"He.. I.. we.... "
Just then Pond came back with food and we all kept quiet. He looked at us curiously.
"Is everything ok?"
I nodded, saying everything was fine and took the plate from him, sitting down to eat.
But my stepdad decided to go on a roll today. He just casually looked at Pond and said, "Oh I was just asking Joong if you are his boyfriend."
I nearly spat out my food when Pond's reply definitely make me choke instead.
"Oh. It's a little complicated Uncle. I have asked him but he hasn't replied. So still waiting for him to say yes or no."
I definitely choked on my food at that point and just glared at all 3 of them who burst out laughing at me!
But Pond did walk over and sat down next to me, tapping my head softly and told me to take it easy.
I glared at him and he chuckled as he promised to lay off shocking me till I was done with dinner. He wiped my tears away as I had choked fairly badly.
"You ok?"
I nodded. He smiled at me and told me he would go get me a drink too. I nodded and he went off.
I turned back to my food only to see my stepdad and maid definitely looking at me with a minute of amusement and yet love in their eyes for me.
And that just warmed my heart greatly.
