Lu Nan added, “Isn’t it under control now, though?”

A little surprised, Lin Yu He responded, “Well…”

Lu Nan said, “It shouldn’t affect normal activities anymore, and it’s good to do some proper exercise.”

Lin Yu He had believed that a person of Mr. Lu’s status would feel that skateboarding and such activities would be very unprofessional, and didn’t expect the man to say, “Go play if you want to play.”

Lu Nan’s tone was serious. “You are still young. Now is a good time to keep trying new things. Instead of hesitating, be bold.”

Lin Yu He was stunned.

On the side, there was a couple who also seemed to want to enter the skateboard shop.

One of them rejoiced, “This is the store I’ve been looking for! I’ve been looking at this store for such a long time, and there are so many people here today!”

The other person was not as happy. “What’s the matter with you, travelling so far just to come to this kind of store?”

“You’re grown up now, why can’t you be more sensible, not messing with these bells and whistles every day?” He said impatiently. “Can’t you do anything serious?”

Despite standing far away from the couple, Lin Yu He felt the sadness from the first person’s joy being suddenly interrupted in this manner. While he was distracted, Lu Nan had attracted the attention of one of the greeters entertaining customers in the queue.

The worker walked over to the two and was stunned, as Lu Nan did not look like someone who would visit a skateboard shop. Lu Nan asked directly, “Do you have to line up to enter the store?”

The worker quickly recovered from his shock and asked, “Are you here to purchase the limited-edition skateboards that are on sale today? Those require queueing, but not for the ordinary skateboards.”

Lu Nan looked at Lin Yu He, and Lin Yu He said, “We want to see the ordinary models.”

The worker led the two inside.

They said they were shopping, but did not actually look around for long. In a few minutes, Lin Yu He had already decided on a skateboard.

Lu Nan asked, “Have you been looking at this for a long time?”

Lin Yu He nodded. “Well… I’ve been looking at it for a while, but I’ve never actually bought it.”

He was worried that he would never use it if he bought it, but today he felt that Mr. Lu was right. If one didn’t try it at the right age, how long would one wait to do so?

“Do you want this one?” Lu Nan asked. “Buy it if you like it.”

“Yes, this one.” Lin Yu He smiled. “This is the one that Hui Xi recommended for me. It’s perfect for beginners who are just learning.”

After he said this, the Lu Nan who had just said “Buy it if you like it” suddenly fell silent.

The store worker helped the two check out. Fang Mu Sen stepped up to swipe his card, but Lin Yu He stopped him. “No, no. I’ll do it by myself.”

Lin Yu He took his phone to pay, and when checking out, the boss heard Lin Yu He mentioning Shen Hui Xi’s name, gladly giving him a discount.

“Brook is my friend! We both skateboard, and have known each other for a very long time.”

“Brook is Shen Hui Xi’s English name.”

“I’ll give you a discount, and this set of protective gear is for you, too.”

Lin Yu He left the store with several bags from the enthusiastic boss. When he turned around, he saw the man’s unhappy look.

Lin Yu He was surprised. “What’s wrong?”

Lu Nan said it was nothing, but after Fang Mu Sen took the bags from Lin Yu He’s hand, the man grabbed Lin Yu He and pressed him against the wall, then proceeded to carefully apply lip balm on his lips again.

The process took so long that Lin Yu He began to develop a mental aversion towards the act of applying lip gloss.

After shopping at the mall, the two had a light dinner and then called a car to take them back.

They agreed to stay the night and return to the dormitory tomorrow to pack, since the car didn’t drive back to school and instead went directly to Lu Nan’s place.

Fengqi Bay was very close to Yancheng University and was only about a ten-minute walk away. It was a newly built community and had all sorts of new facilities. Lin Yu He and Lu Nan entered the house. Unexpectedly, Mr. Lu’s place wasn’t decorated with black, white, and grey and he imagined, but instead, it was a comfortable home with warm colours. Lu Nan gave him a brief tour of the rooms of the house, and Lin Yu He silently gave a sigh of relief when he saw the made bed in the guest room.

It was still early, so the two did not go to bed yet, and instead went to the study together.

The study was spacious and adequately lit, and there were two desks not too far from each other. Lu Nan asked Lin Yu He to sit at the smaller desk, bringing him a notebook and a tablet.

“Just take it and use it. I have others.”

Lin Yu He thanked him and took the items.

He prepared to read his thesis and opened the tablet first. The tablet was the latest model, released a little over a month ago. The protective film on the screen had not been removed, and it seemed brand new.

Lin Yu He thought he would need to set up a new device, but he didn’t expect the tablet to operate so smoothly, with a lot of useful apps already inside. He scrolled through it and found that the commonly used apps for academic and medical subjects had been downloaded, and even Yancheng University’s on-campus VPN was available. The tablet had been thoroughly prepared.

Lin Yu He was stunned. Had anyone used this tablet before? Or… had it been specially prepared for him?

He subconsciously looked towards Lu Nan, but the man had already sat down at the other desk and began to work.
