Indonesian Horror StoryWords: 2980

In the heart of a small village in Central Java, there was a legend about the Lady in White. Legend says that she was once a beautiful woman, married to a wealthy man in the village. However, her husband had betrayed her, and in her rage, she cut off his head with a sickle. Driven insane by the act, she threw herself off a cliff, but instead of dying, she became a vengeful spirit, haunting the village ever since.

In the present day, the villagers still believe in the legend of the Lady in White. They say that she appears each night at midnight, walking through the streets in her white gown, her long hair flowing in the wind, searching for her husband's spirit.

Dewi, a young woman visiting the village, was intrigued by the legend of the Lady in White. One night, while walking alone on the village street, she spotted a white figure in the distance, walking towards her.

As the figure approached, Dewi could see it was the Lady in White. She was struck by the beauty of the apparition before her, but also felt a sense of unease. The woman's face was pale and cold, and she seemed to walk straight through Dewi, as if she wasn't even there.

From that moment on, Dewi became more and more obsessed with the Lady in White. She would often walk the empty streets at night, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ghostly figure.

Over the days, Dewi started to notice that things were changing around her. Strange things began to happen.

She would wake up in the morning to find objects moved and out of place. Sometimes strange whispers and voices could be heard in the night. She tried to tell the villagers, but no one seemed to listen or take her seriously.

Then one night, while walking alone, she saw the Lady in White again. This time, the spirit seemed to beckon to her, calling her further into the darkness.

Dewi followed, transfixed by the ethereal figure. She was led to the cliff that supposedly has been the site of the Lady in White's suicide. To her horror, she saw her husband's ghost standing before her. The Lady in White had found her husband, and he was cursed to walk this earth, trapped in the realm of the living.

Dewi knew she had to help the spirits find peace. She went to the village's spiritual leader, who gave her directions on how to conduct a ritual to pacify the spirits.

Dewi held the ritual, asking the spirits to find peace and return to their proper place in the world beyond. As the ritual proceeded, the spirits of the Lady in White and her husband started to glow with a bright light and drifted towards the heavens.

That was the last anyone ever saw of the spirits. But the village is said to be haunted by their presence, even to this day.

Dewi left the village a changed person, having experienced the power of the supernatural and the cost it can bring. The villagers still tell her story as a warning to others not to be too curious about the world beyond. For sometimes delving too deeply into these things can have grave consequences.
