Lin Yi leaned against her chin and said, “I went to Aunt Feng’s place today and asked for a few chicks. When they hatch, she’ll send them to us. If you have time, build a chicken coop in the yard. Oh, and I want to make a vegetable garden at the corner of the wall. I want to plant some cucumbers, peas, cabbage, and onions. What do you think?”

Wei Luan was stunned as he looked up at Lin Yi.

Wasn’t she leaving him soon? Why was she doing these things?

“Why are you looking at me like that? You don’t want to help me? Hmph, I’ll do it myself.” Lin Yi pouted and snorted.

“No,” Wei Luan immediately said, “I’ll help you.”

A smile appeared on Lin Yi’s face. She looked like a completely different person. She looked energetic and adorable.

Wei Luan lowered his head again, not daring to look into Lin Yi’s sparkling eyes.

Today, Lin Yi had waited for him to come home. She even prepared a piping hot dinner for him. Wei Luan never dreamed this day would come.

He was confused and surprised.

Perhaps Lin Yi didn’t plan to leave him immediately. That’s right, they had just gotten married, so Lin Yi might want to stay here for a while longer.

What about the future?

Lin Yi was the daughter of a rich family from the city. She would never be willing to stay in this poor and backward village for the rest of her life. Moreover, she did not like him.

Wei Luan’s mind was filled with all kinds of thoughts, but negative thoughts still prevailed.

Lin Yi’s egg pancakes and porridge were delicious. Wei Luan had never done his taste buds any favors before, so he felt satisfied and happy eating the food. However, Wei Luan felt bitter in his heart.

After dinner, Lin Yi rubbed her stomach and said to Wei Luan, “I cooked, so you do the dishes.” Her tone was very firm.

Wei Luan had no intention of letting her wash the dishes. When he heard that, he took the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen to wash them.

It was late at night, and Lin Yi was lying on the bed. Not long after, Wei Luan entered the bedroom. He slowly took off his coat and lay down. Lin Yi was a little nervous.

Although the two of them had sex for a few hours last night, Lin Yi was drunk.

Lin Yi had not interacted with men for many years, but now that she was awake, there was a man lying next to her. Under her nervousness, Lin Yi no longer felt sleepy.

The man’s breathing was steady and soothing. Lin Yi was not sure if he was sleeping, but she could not fall asleep and wanted to go to the bathroom.

Lin Yi hesitated for a moment, then slowly pulled the blanket away and prepared to get out of bed.

“What are you doing?” The man’s deep and magnetic voice suddenly sounded.

Lin Yi was shocked and slapped Wei Luan. “Aren’t you sleeping? Why did you suddenly say that? You scared me!”

Wei Luan did not get angry after being slapped by Lin Yi. He seemed to be in a good mood.

Seeing that Wei Luan did not say anything, Lin Yi gritted her teeth and said, “I want to go to the toilet.”

Lin Yi looked at the dark room and did not dare to go out.

After all, she was a girl and was quite timid.

Wei Luan was not sensitive to women’s emotions, but for some reason, he surprisingly sensed Lin Yi’s fear.

After a moment of silence, he got up, put on his clothes, and said to Lin Yi, “Follow me.”

The two of them went outside. The toilet was in the woodshed.

Lin Yi nervously walked towards the woodshed and turned to look behind.

Under the dim moonlight, Wei Luan was watching her from afar. Lin Yi suddenly felt a sense of security. She quickly used the toilet and found a bucket of water to wash her hands.

“Alright, let’s go in.” Lin Yi heaved a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to enter the house, she suddenly felt something crawling on her feet. Lin Yi screamed and grabbed Wei Luan.

Before Wei Luan knew what was going on, Lin Yi hugged him and screamed, “Something’s on my foot! Help!”

The woman’s soft body pressed against Wei Luan, and the sweet fragrance appeared again.

Wei Luan was stunned and subconsciously hugged Lin Yi. After he regained his senses, he stopped Lin Yi. “Don’t move.”

Wei Luan picked Lin Yi up with one arm and touched her feet with the other.

“It’s just a bug.” Wei Luan patted the bug away and put Lin Yi down. However, Lin Yi continued hugging him tightly.

Wei Luan did not expect Lin Yi to be so timid. He did not know how to comfort her, so he patted her back and said, “It’s okay, there are no more bugs.”
