âDeanna, whatâs going on?â Brian queried.
âBrian, hurry to the hotel.
Momâs passed out!â
Deannaâs voice was shaky, teetering on the edge of tears.
Brianâs expression changed instantly.
âWhat? Why did she faint?â
âI donât know.
I walked in and found her on the floor.
â Deanna sobbed.
âOkay, donât panic.
Iâm on my way.
Keep your phone on,â Brian replied, his voice like ice.
He hung up and immediately called for an emergency car, then darted back into the bedroom to change.
A chill crept into Rosalynnâs heart.
Could it be that Noemi had seen the message from Hutton and this was the result?
âRosalynn, my momâs in a coma.
I need to leave right now.
â Brian changed his clothes and walked out of the bedroom.
âIâUL come with you,â Rosalynn offered.
Pausing for a moment, Brian nodded.
âSure, letâs go.
â Rosalynn quickly changed and trailed behind him.
As they drove to the hospital, Deanna rang again, letting them know that Noemi was already there.
Without a detour, Brian headed straight for the hospital.

Once they got there, they spotted Deanna, her eyes red and swollen, sitting by the emergency room door.
âDeanna,â Brian called out and walked briskly towards her.
âBrian.
â Deanna choked out his name through sobs.
âHowâs Mom doing?â Brian queried.
âThe doctors are checking her out, but she woke up right before they wheeled her into the ER,â Deanna explained.
With a sniffle, Deanna pulled a cell phone from her bag and unlocked it.
âBrian, this is Momâs phone.
She had it in her hand when she fainted.
There was some document on it.
I donât know who sent it, but whateverâs in it seems to have made her pass out.
