She gave it a quick look.
It was a call from Hutton.
What was the reason for his late-night call? Rosalynn thought it was strange but picked up the phone.
âHutton.
â
âRosalynn, are you asleep?â
âNot yet.
Whatâs on your mind?â
âValeriaâs in trouble.
Can you get to Wragos Hospital? Iâm⦠Iâm really worried.
â
Hutton sounded scared, his voice shaking.
Startled, Rosalynn quickly sat up.
âHospital? What happened?â
âWe had a fight, and she fell down the stairs by accident.
Sheâs bleeding, and Iâm not sure if the baby will make it.
â
âs BunnyBookery
Rosalynn frowned and hurried out of bed.
âStay calm.
Have you two arrived at the hospital now?â
âYes, just arrived.
â
âOkay, I got it.
Iâll head there immediately.
â
After hanging up, Rosalynn quickly dressed and prepared to drive back to Wragos.
As she reached the living room, she encountered Lyndon, who had just come back.
Seeing Rosalynn rushing, he asked, âOuting at this hour?â
âYes, Iâve got to get back to Wragos,â Rosalynn answered.
Lyndon frowned.
âItâs late, and youâre still planning to head back to Wragos? What happened?â
âMy friendâs in trouble.
I need to go back now,â Rosalynn explained, heading towards the door.
Noticing Brian wasnât there, Lyndon asked, âWhereâs Brian? Isnât he going with you?â
âHeâs busy with some company work.
â
After a brief pause, Lyndon said, âLet me drive you back.
â
âThank you, but I can manage by myself,â Rosalynn responded with courtesy.
âIâm not comfortable with you driving this late.
Also, I have a meeting in Wragos tomorrow morning.
It works out if I leave tonight.
Letâs go,â Lyndon insisted, gently leading her to the door.
