Keeping her eyes on the road, Karina asked, âRosalynn, could you check who itâs from?â
She was wary of using her phone while driving, especially with her pregnant best friend onboard.
If anything happened to Rosalynn, Brian would have her head.
Rosalynn picked up Karinaâs phone and glanced at the screen.
It was a message from Barlow.
âItâs Barlow,â she announced.
âs BunnyBookery
âOh? Letâs see what he has to say!â Karina was a little smug.
She enjoyed teasing Barlow.
âArenât you afraid Iâll see something private?â Rosalynn teased with a smile.
âItâs okay.
Youâve dealt with your husbandâs charming words before.
â
Karina shrugged, unfazed about sharing Barlowâs message with Rosalynn.
Brian had his way with charming words, too.
Rosalynn chuckled and stopped teasing Karina.
She clicked on the message and read it aloud, âHe said heâs going out of town and will talk to you when he gets back.
â
Karinaâs smile faltered.
âWhyâs he leaving town with the new year around the corner? Can his injured legs handle that?â she mused aloud.
âAre you worried about him? Why not simply tell him that you know his identity?â Rosalynn suggested.
Karina shook her head adamantly.
âNever.
â
Rosalynn chuckled, seeing through Karinaâs true thoughts and recognizing her as stubborn verbally but tender-hearted at heart.
Just as she was about to set down the phone, Karina piped up, âRosalynn, do you think heâs planning to tell me everything when he gets back?â
Rosalynn raised her eyebrows slightly and replied, âItâs a possibility.
â
Karinaâs eyes sparkled with curiosity.
âRosalyn, text him, asking why he canât tell me now.
Why wait until heâs back?â
Rosalynn typed out the message and sent it off.
Soon, Barlow replied with two words, âGood news.
â
After a brief silence, Karina instructed, âSend him another message.
Tell him to wear more clothes when he goes out, and be careful not to catch a cold.
And remind him to look both ways before crossing the street-safety first.
Iâll be here waiting for him to share the good news!â
Her words were simply a caring reminder for Barlow to take care of himself outdoors.
What a thoughtful woman, Rosalynn mused to herself as she relayed the message.
âArenât you driving? No texting while behind the wheel,â Barlow cautioned, concerned for her safety.
Karina curled her lips and decided not to press further.
