âOh, keep going,â Barlow teased.
Karina was exasperated.
Rosalynn and Tilda exchanged amused glances and burst into laughter.
âWell, are you all hungry? Want to barbecue or keep bantering here?â
Rosalynn asked, her eyes twinkling with amusement as she thought about the earlier scuffle.
âIâm not really hungry, but I can handle the barbecue.
Would you like to have some barbecue, Maggie?â Sanford said, turning to her.
Maggie, having just finished dinner, wasnât very hungry either, but she smiled and said, âI can grill some food for Sheldon.
â
Sheldon touched his belly and chirped, âBelly, grow bigger!â
Everyone laughed and headed toward the barbecue area.
Brian, smiling, was about to put his arm around Rosalynnâs waist, but then he paused, catching a glimpse of something.
The forest not far away swayed slightly in the night wind.
Brian thought he saw someone in the forest, but he was uncertain.
âWhatâs wrong, Brian?â Rosalynn asked, noticing his distraction.
âNothing.
Letâs go,â Brian replied, glancing back at the forest but seeing nothing unusual.
He put his arm around Rosalynnâs waist, and they headed to the barbecue area.
None of the men had much experience barbecuing.
Brian bought the ingredients, but they needed to be skewered, so he specifically asked Sanford to do it.
Sanford looked around, feeling singled out.
âWhy just me, Brian? Donât be so unfair.
â
Brian shrugged.
âIf you donât want to, you can go back to sleep.
â
Sanford sighed and gave Maggie a pitiful look.
âMaggie, come help me, please.
â
Maggie smiled and walked over to assist.
Meanwhile, Karina, who was playing with Sheldon, turned to Barlow.
âWhy are you still sitting there? Go help Sanford.
â
âLetâs go together,â Barlow replied, raising an eyebrow and pulling Karina up from her chair.
âNo way!â Karina protested.
