âStop that car,â he instructed.
âGot it,â Sanford replied, turning on the hazard lights and maneuvering the car to block the road.
Seeing the sudden maneuver, Lyndon, following close behind, was momentarily stunned and hurriedly braked.
The nearby police cars arrived, their sirens blaring.
On the opposite side of the road, Jamirâs subordinate cursed as he saw the blockade.
âJamir, someoneâs blocking our way, and the police are here.
What should we do?â
Jamir, noticing the situation, frowned and glanced at Rosalynn, who was beginning to wake up.
âs BunnyBookery
âTurn around,â he ordered.
âWhat?â his subordinate asked, surprised.
âI said turn around.
Hurry!â Jamir barked.
âOkay,â the subordinate replied, immediately braking and making a sharp U-turn to flee the scene.
Brian, just getting out of his car, saw the vehicle make a sudden retreat.
His face darkened with determination.
Certain it was the kidnapperâs car, he quickly got back into his own.
âFollow them!â he ordered.
âGot it,â Sanford responded, starting the engine and speeding after the fleeing vehicle.
In the escaping car, Jamirâs subordinate asked nervously, âJamir, what do we do now? The police are right behind us.
â
Jamir frowned, âWeâll figure it out as we go.
â
Rosalynn had fully woken up by now.
She shifted and sat up, glancing around to find Sheldon still unconscious beside Jamir.
Noticing Tilda wasnât in the car, she realized they were driving at a dangerous speed, clearly trying to escape.
Rosalynn remained silent but looked back instinctively.
As she observed the pursuing vehicles, a glimmer of hope ignited in her eyes.
Was Brian coming to rescue her?
