If only Barlow were an ordinary man!
After they finished washing up, Karinaâs phone rang.
It was her mother, Denisse Glyn.
She hurriedly answered, saying, âHey, Mom.
â
âKarina, did you have a fight with your brother? Why didnât you come home last night?â Denisse inquired.
Do You Like Barlow
Karina glanced at Rosalynn and fabricated a lie.
âNo, Iâve just been busy with work.
I didnât want to disturb you and Dad by coming home late, so Iâm staying over at Rosalynnâs.
â
âWell, your brother will be taking Annalise home for dinner tonight.
Make sure to come back early,â Denisse casually mentioned.
âI understand,â Karina responded, ending the call.
She stared at her phone and let out a sigh.
Rosalynn approached and embraced her, offering comfort.
Karina managed a bitter smile.
âRosalynn, Iâm not trying to ease my guilt.
Iâm just worried that my brother will end up hurt again.
â
Rosalynnâs positive opinion of Virgil had undeniably waned.
âNo matter how sad he may be, he deserves it,â she declared.
It was his fault that he couldnât see Annaliseâs true colors.
âRosalynn, please donât say that,â Karina pleaded, feeling a sense of protectiveness for her brother.
Rosalynn gently guided Karina to the table and said, âAlright, I wonât say anything more.
Letâs focus on having breakfast.
â
Karina blinked, contemplating her next move.
âI still need to find a way to make my brother realize what kind of person Annalise truly is.

Rosalynn handed Karina her breakfast and said, âKarina, you can never awaken someone who pretends to be asleep.
Only he knows if such a person is truly right for him, donât you think so?â
Virgil wasnât foolish.
Deep down, he must have known that Annalise didnât have genuine feelings for him.
Perhaps he was just pretending not to notice, hoping that Annalise would eventually choose to be with him.
Karina remained wordless, lost in her own thoughts.
