Rosalynn took a deep breath before answering the phone.
âKarina?â
âRosalynn, I have heard from Hutton that you went to Brianâs grandmaâs.
Is that true?â
âYes, I did.
â There was a brief pause before Rosalynn continued, âBrian now knows Iâm his wife, the one he has neglected for two years.
âSo, Brian knows youâre his wife? Whatâs the plan now?â Karina asked, her tone filled with curiosity.
âWeâre going to get a divorce.
â Rosalynn inhaled deeply, her swirling emotions contrasting with the calm waters of the lake.
There was a momentary pause before Karina asked, âAre you sure about that? Donât you want to think it through some more?â
âNo, Iâve made up my mind.
Thereâs no going back.
â Rosalynnâs response was resolute.
âAlright then, Iâll support your decision,â Karina replied, her voice holding a glimmer of optimism.
âAt least youâve had some intimate moments before the divorce.
â
Rosalynn could not help but snort at Karinaâs peculiar line of thought.
Somehow, though, it brought a glimmer of amusement to her troubled soul.

âHow about we go to Royarid Club tonight?â Karina proposed, excitement lacing her voice.
Rosalynnâs inclination was to agree, but the haunting memory of what had transpired a month ago halted her.
It was on the same note that she had met Brian, merely seeking a night of enjoyment.
âNo, thanks.
Besides, this wouldnât be the first time we considered divorce.
â
âYou know, you can still have fun even if you decide not to go through with it.
â Karina tried to reason with her.
âI know, but maybe not today.
Oh, by the way, Barlow is still in the hospital.
â Rosalynn paused briefly.
âCould you watch over him today? I donât think Iâll be able to go there.
â
Rosalynn was in a bad mood.
ALL she wanted was to shut herself away in her room, where she could wallow in her own self-pity and nurse her wounds.
âDonât worry, Iâll watch over him,â Karina hurriedly assured her.
The two friends chatted for a little while Longer before bringing their conversation to a close.
In the hospital corridor, Karina stood while glancing at her phone screen, a heavy sigh escaping her Lips.
It had been over a month since Rosalynn was supposed to initiate the divorce proceedings with Brian.
Initially, her mood had seemed unaffected by the impending separation.
Granted, there were no romantic feelings between them at the time.
