Chapter 14 The Great Gift of Preparation Reading the content, Henryâs brows furrowed. After a moment of hesitation, he stood up and left the hospital without a word.
Evelyn felt extremely tired. Her eyelids seemed to be weighed down by a thousand pounds of iron. She should surrender to this feeling and fall asleep, but a voice in her heart kept shouting, âWake up quickly.â
Suddenly, she opened her eyes, and her first instinct was to grab the phone on the bedside table.
November 24th!
It was Henryâs birthday.
A scheduled text message on her phone had been automatically sent to Henry twenty minutes ago.
âHappy birthday, Erting Club, Room 304, I has prepared a gift for you. Go get it.â
After reading this message, Evelynâs face turned pale. She felt her blood freeze, and a chill ran down her spine.
In her previous life, it was this event that led to Henry locking her up in the villa for several months.
What mood had he gone to Erting Club with that night, and what disappointment had he experienced?
Evelyn was unsure whether Henry had slept with that woman. but she knew that after that night, the woman was kept in another villa by Henry. He never visited again, nor did he drive her away.

The snow began to fall outside.
At Erting Club, Room 304 was quiet.
Memphisâ four commercial giants, Matthew Garcia, Noah Anderson, Alexander Smith, and stern-faced Henry, gathered on the sofa.
âHaha, the famous Mr. Wilson called us here overnight just to enjoy the surprise gift your little wife prepared for you? How delightful,â Alexander laughed carelessly.
Noah shook his head and smiled, seemingly unsurprised.
âHenry, Happy birthday.â Matthew said seriously, raising his glass.
Henryâs expression darkened even more.
The woman sitting in front of him, holding a glass of wine, was trembling, but meeting Henryâs gaze, she boldly exposed her leg, intentionally highlighting her chest. âMr. Wilson, it really⦠really has nothing to do with me. Your wife gave me money to take good care of you.â
Henry stared at the glass of wine, finished it in one go, and said to Alexander and the others, âGet out.â
The woman in front of him immediately bloomed with joy and sat next to him. âMr. Wilson, Iâll take good care of you.â
The three were inexplicably driven out. Alexander was the first to explode.
âIs Henry all right? Evelyn treated him so badly, and he still obey her? Isnât he a masochist?â
Noah couldnât agree with this.
Matthew is thinking uniquely, âIâm wondering how strong that wine is?â
âCurious?â Alexander smirked, standing up. âLetâs see.â
Suddenly, Alexander was pulled away by someone.
Covered in snow, Evelyn stood at the door urgently, her voice full of anxiety.
âIs Henry inside?â
She was dressed in a thin patient gown, one slipper missing, revealing toes that had turned red from the cold, making her look extremely disheveled.
Alexander and the others knew her, but they all disliked her. So, they gave her a glance but said nothing in unison.
âIâm asking you, Henry is inside, right?â
She became increasingly agitated, rushing up to the door, but was stopped by Alexander.
Alexander sneered, âTonightâs event was arranged by you. If you go in now, wonât you ruin everything?â
âAlexander! You better let me through,â Evelyn threatened, recalling the events from her previous life, âIf you donât want the journalists to ask about your secrets at City Hotelâ¦â
Confronted with her determined and dangerous gaze, Alexander, hurriedly interrupted her. âAlright, alright. Iâll let you through!â He covered up that matter very well, how could she girl know?
Evelyn had no time to deal with him and rushed to the door, knocking and smashing.
âOpen the door, Henry, open the door, quickly!â She knocked more and more urgently.
Evelyn pushed the door with all her strength, and the door slowly creaked open.
