Chapter 6 Henry, Iâm Cold Just as Henry was about to pull her arm away, Evelyn moved.
Henry sneered. âAwake? Or canât pretend anymore?â
He could almost imagine the disgust the girl in his arms would show him next.
Without opening her eyes, Evelyn tilted her head up and fiercely punched Henryâs chest. Her voice sounded both annoyed and petulant.
âCold, Henry, Iâm cold.â
Evelynâs strength was weak, like scratching an itch. The warmth from the place where she scratched on Henryâs chest spread from the inside out.
She was calling him⦠Henry?
The raging fury in Henryâs heart was instantly extinguished by this sweet voice.
Never in his life had he thought his name could sound so melodious.
The girl in his arms shrank a bit, and Henry realized Evelyn was genuinely cold. He quickly pulled the blanket over them.
Afraid of disturbing the rare tranquility, Henry maintained this posture the whole time.. As time passed, he unexpectedly fell asleep.
Little did he know, when his breathing became steady, the girl in his arms revealed a mischievous smile, she had more than enough charm to captivate Henry.

The next morning.
When Evelyn woke up, Henry was nowhere to be seen.
Evelyn went downstairs and unsurprisingly spotted Henry in the dining room.
He lazily leaned back in his chair, a simple breakfast of bread and milk in front of him. Upon seeing Evelyn, he appeared noticeably surprised.
Even in the past, Evelyn never appeared in the dining room at the same time as him. She had mentioned that having a meal with someone she disliked would ruin her appetite.
Evelyn had long forgotten the nonsense she used to say; all she knew was that she was now ravenously hungry, wishing she could devour whatever can eat.
She walked up to Henry, questioned, âNothing prepared for me? Iâm starving to death.â
Saying that, she pinched the bread in front of Henry and took two hearty bites. Eating too quickly, she accidentally choked and, in the process, drank Henryâs milk as well.
Henryâs deep eyes stared at Evelynâs mouth, stained with milk. There was a small gap where he had taken a bite. Instead of feeling repulsed, Evelyn ate even more indulgently.
With her charming red lips moving, Henryâs mesmerized eyes narrowed, and the gleam in his eyes grew more dangerous.
He pulled her into his arms abruptly.
âIs it delicious?â His voice was low and husky.
âMmm,â Evelyn nodded, âRemember to call me next time youâre eating; Iâm hungry too.â
Henry didnât refute, just asked her in a low voice, âAre you hungry? What should I do? Iâm hungry too.?â
He sensually slid out his tongue, delicately tracing the milk stain at the corner of her mouth.
Subsequently, he employed his fingers to gently remove the milk residue from her lips and leisurely savored the taste.
Very sweet. A slight smile formed on Henryâs lips.
Evelyn blushed, feeling the heat spreading throughout her body. She felt the intense gaze from Henry and hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to continue chewing the bread in her mouth or not.
âBoss!â David abruptly barged in and was instantly stunned by the scene before him.
What did he just witness?
The Madam wasnât making a scene; instead, she sat so peacefully in the bossâs arms?
Without further thought, he felt a chill at the back of his neck. As he raised his head, he ran into Henryâs displeased look.
âWhatâs the matter?â
âThe meeting is about to start; Iâm here to pick you up,â David said, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Evelyn stood up, puffing her cheeks. âSince youâre busy, go ahead. I can eat at my own pace..â
Henryâs gaze deepening. In any case, he wasnât pleased.
David knew he was in trouble. He didnât dare say more than necessary and silently followed behind Henry.
Once the two left, Evelyn poured herself another glass of milk. Before she could take a sip, David returned.
âMadam, this is a gift from the Boss.â As he set down a diamond crown, he added, âBoss wanted me to tell you that he has agreed to give the land cooperation contract to The Martinez family.â
âWhat?â Evelyn stood up in surprise.
In her previous life, she had wished for the land to be Williamâs. In this life, she hoped for everything to fall apart, anything is better than giving it to that scumbag.
âYes, Boss promised.â Davidâs smile faded.
He continued, âHowever, the auction invitation has been sent out. Boss means to let that side go through the motions.â
âThatâs good.â Evelyn felt relieved. Then she still has a chance to turn the situation around.
David felt very puzzled: Evelynâs reaction today seemed strange. It was as if she didnât want The Martinez family to get that piece of land at all.
Evelyn waved her hand to signal David to leave, then picked up the milk to drink.
At that moment, the phone beside the dining table rang.
The screen displayed an affectionate nickname: âDear William Brother.â
The bastard!!
