So sorry that it's been a while. School has been busy but now I'm on winter break and will be updating a lot for the next few weeks. Also, sorry that this chapter isn't that exciting. I just needed to get it out of the way so I could put my next chapter into action. This is not edited. Enjoy!

As Iâm about to jog, I see my team. Jacks and Alex rush to me as Gale and Tristan take their time walking over. Iâm embraced by both but then Alex realizes what heâs doing and releases me immediately. He blushes crazily and stutters. I laugh at him as I hug him and Jacks back. Tristan smiles as heâs glad Iâm back to normal and Gale shows worry in his eyes but I reassure him. Itâs good to get back on track with things. I tell them Iâm going for a jog as they say theyâre going to go train in the gym. We say our goodbyes and just before I start to jog, Officer Russell comes up to me. He joins me in my jog.
âSo how are you feeling?â He asks.
âBetter. Much better.â I say.
âGood, Iâm glad.â
âSo what is it you really want to talk about?â I ask.
He looks at me shocked.
âHow did you-â
âItâs not that difficult to figure out. I know thereâs something on your mind so just spit it out.â I say.
He sighs and then smiles.
âNothing gets passed you. Thatâs a good quality. Thatâs the kind of quality we need.â He says.
âWhat do you mean?â I ask confused.
âYou see, we need a new general. A leader that has the respect of their men and can bring this war to an end.â He looks at me but then quickly turns back to look in front of him.
âYou donât mean-?â
âYes. A leader like you.â He says.
âNo way! How could I lead so many men? I canât even lead my team properly and I was just a substitute.â I yell.
âYou did wonderful. Sure the mission didnât go as planned but you still got the mission done and your team out safely.â He says.
âBarely.â I whisper.
âYou calmed down Alex and Jacks during the missions. You know how to handle unpredicted situations. Also, I saw how you fight.â He says the last part with pride in his voice.
âSo? Youâve seen me fight before.â
âTrue but not like how you did on the last mission or when you and Tristan met the first night.â He looks at me closely.
I gasp. He was talking about the times Iâve lost control. Well last time I didnât but I knew I wouldnât have been able to stop my bloodlust.
âIâm sorry. Iâm trying to work on it. It wonât happen again.â I say.
âNo no no. Thatâs not what I mean. Whatever you do makes you stronger. Much stronger. I know you canât control it but if we train you then you could be unstoppable.â He says with stars in his eyes.
âBut I canât control it and itâs dangerous. I donât even think I can tell the difference between my enemies and my team.â I admit.
âThatâs why we will help you control it. Have faith in us.â
I look down at my feet and watch as they keep up their pace.
âAs I was saying,â I look back up at him. âas you know, we have 3 generals that are under the command of our president. They have meetings and make the game plans. Sadly, one of our generals died and I told them about you. They were very impressed at your actions and think you would be just right for the job. You would be the strategist that leads her men into battle. You would be the stronghold.â
Before I can protest again, Officer Russell continues.
âYou will be given a test. Itâs to see if you really are ready to be put in to such a major role. It will be random and you wonât see what kind of test it will be until it happens. When it does, we will watch and see how you handle it. If you handle it well then you get the position. Simple as that.â He says it like itâs the simplest thing in the world.
Before I can object, he turns right and runs in to the woods.
âWait!â I shout.
âGood luck to you Anna!â He shouts as he disappears in to the woods.
âArgggh! You canât be serious! I donât even want the position!â I yell.
I stop running and put my legs on my knees and bend over, panting. He canât be serious! But I knew he was. How can I lead a whole army? Thatâs just insane. I barely have the respect of the men in this camp. How was I going to lead all these other men who would just ignore me? I grunt in frustration. Why did he have to pick me? I look up into the sky.
âWHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD?â I yell at the top of my lungs.
