He said coldly, âTell her Iâm busy.â
Liam hung up and told Adeline, âSorry, Miss Aniston. Mr. Arnold is busy. He canât see you right now.â
Adeline heard the sounds of laughter coming from within. Patricia is in there! Thereâs no way heâs busy!
She gnashed her teeth. That f*ckinging b*tch! What did she do to make him show up right at that
moment? Itâs like heâs the kidsâ father. Now nobody trusts me. They think sheâs his wife, not me. Darn it!
There were guards outside, so she could not go in if they did not let her.
Yvonne came to her side. âTheyâre not letting you in?â
Adeline forced a smile. âThey said Isaacâs gone. Patriciaâs his secretary, and he came with his relatives.
Their kids wouldnât stop crying, so he asked Patricia to take care of them.â
Yvonne smiled. âI see. And I thought she actually has Isaacâs kids.â She would be more than happy to
have his kid. They would be her lucky charm. She would still be the mother of his child even if she
could not marry him. The child would still have the right to part of the inheritance.
Adeline went ahead. âAs if. She was pregnant with an old fartâs kids. Heâs almost seventy.â
Yvonne frowned. âDisgusting. She sleeps with everyone, huh?â
â¦
The kids were exhausted after playing for the whole afternoon. They slept right after they took a shower
and went to bed.
The first thing Patricia saw when she came out of the shower was the kids lying on the bed. Sylvie was
in the middle, and her brothers flanked her, as if they were keeping her safe. She tucked them in and
looked at them. The kids were getting really beautiful. They were adorable and lovable. She sat on the
edge of the bed, and she smiled at her children.
Isaac came in and saw her smiling at the children lovingly. He was stunned. He never thought a woman
could look as gentle and beautiful as when she was tending to her children. Sheâs so different from her
usual self. He felt something pulling on his heartstrings, and he slowly went to her side, then raised her
chin.
Her smile faded the moment she saw him. âMr. Arnoldâ¦â
âDonât space out. Iâm hungry. Come with me. Weâre getting dinner.â
Patricia looked at her children. She was worried about them.
âLiam and the bodyguards are here, so theyâll be fine. You can get some takeout for them later.â
Patricia was starving as well. She had played with the children in the hot spring for a whole day too,
and she needed something to replenish her energy. âSure.â She walked with him, and they went to the
restaurant.
The sun was setting, and they were walking on a quiet path all by themselves. It felt a little romantic.
Isaac put his hands in his pockets and looked ahead. âTheyâre really important to you, arenât they?â She
looked really happy when she was playing with the kids. Isaac knew they were her whole world.
Patricia smiled. âOf course. Theyâre my whole world. Probably the only people I care about in this
universe.â
Isaac frowned. What about me? Do you care about me? What do you think of me? He wanted to know.
