I wanted to come to all of you at the close if this story and say thank you. Thanks to those of you who are reading this! This book sprung mostly from a desire to see less romance-oriented books in the Historical Fiction community and a genuine love for the history of my country. Thanks to those of you who were reading this during the writing of it... and your patience between updates. To those of you who have read it since I wrote the epilogue? I love you just as much. If you're reading this, then you have experienced the trials of the MacEilan children- their pains and their joys. At least I hope you have.
I wrote this book when I was 13 (or started it anyways) and I feel I've grown a lot as a writer since then. Hopefully I've developed in style so the other books read more easily, but I"m not a great judge of my own writing. Hard to believe it's been almost 3 years since I started!
Also thanks to my good friend HistoryGuru, because she helped me come up with the characters in this book (the plot is entirely my own). I wanted to make sure she gets the recognition she deserves!
To all of you who voted, commented, and/or added My Wild Irish Rose to your reading lists, you have all been wonderful. I hope you had as much fun reading this as much as I did writing it. If you want to learn more about what happened after Mary left for Denver, I've written her story and it can be found on my page with my other works. I'm writing Emma's currently, and it can also be found on my page!
Love to all of you,
Megan Petersdatter
