I'm sitting here thinking about the events that have happened the past couple of weeks while I take my exam. It's my last exam for the day and then I get out for Christmas break. Last week, the guys played in the championship game. Jordan got to play, but he didn't stay in the game the whole time. He still wasn't one hundred percent, but he still wanted to play. He got in for two quarters and when he was out there, he made sure to show off. He scored the very last touch down for us, causing us to win the game. We won the game by a touchdown and the guys threw a party that night. Not at my house, of course. It was at Troy's house and the party didn't stop until four a.m.
The week before that, I got a letter from a college I've been eyeing. New York University. I was so happy that I was jumping up and down. I haven't told Jordan yet because that's an argument waiting to happen. Whenever he mentions school, I'll mention school.
The week before that week, Jordan's mom announced her pregnancy to everyone. Alyssa and I have become her right hand gals and we're going to help her through the pregnancy. We're basically in charge of getting the baby shower together when it's time.
I circle the last answer on the test and stand up, turning it in to my teacher. I grab my things before walking out the door and heading towards the front exit. I get outside to see Jake and Alyssa waiting for me. I run down the steps and hug my best friends.
"Are you guys ready for the best Christmas ever." I smile.
We start to walk to the school's parking lot. "Excited. I wish I could spend the whole Christmas with you guys." Alyssa says.
"You're still going to be there. It doesn't matter what time you get there as long as you get there." I tell her.
"Yup, but I'd advise you to come before the food starts to get passed out. Her dad's cooking for the holidays are so good. I'm going to have seconds, thirds, and fourths." Jake says.
Alyssa and I laugh at him. "Yeah, you're going to gain bout thirty pounds." I joke.
"Whatever. Aren't we meeting up with Jordan and the guys?" He asks.
"Yup. We're spending the whole day together because he's going to be gone Christmas break to the mountains, so I'm basically going to be miserable over break." I frown.
"No you won't. You'll have me." Jake smiles.
Alyssa hits both of us in the arm, "Just because I'm not living in the same household as you two doesn't mean you guys can leave me out."
I rub my arm, "Sorry. It was Jake leaving you out. Not me."
"Really? Put the blame on me. Some friends you guys are." He says.
I smile and kiss his cheek, "You know we love you Jakey."
"Yeah, Jakey. What would we do without you?" Alyssa smiles, hooping her arm through his.
I hoop my arm around his other one and we all walk to our cars like this. I'm no longer grounded which means I can go wherever I want again. I can't say being grounded was all that bad because I snuck Jordan in almost every day and I snuck out a couple of times. Jake and I get into my car and Alyssa gets into hers. We all head to the mall to meet up with Jordan, Troy, Daniel, and Ryan.
When we get there, the guys are swallowing down a pizza. I swear they eat entirely too much. I wrap my arms around Jordan's neck and kiss his cheek before sitting in his lap.
"Hey, Midget. How were the exams?" He asks.
I steal a pepperoni off of his pizza and eat it. "Long and boring, but I managed. What have you guys been doing the whole time?"
They got out an hour earlier than us which sucked. "Been walking around. Eating."
"Fun." I say sarcastically.
"Is this what we're doing today?" Alyssa asks.
"Um, no. I actually had an idea on what we could do." Troy says.
We all look at him, waiting for him to tell us his idea. "Have a movie night at my house."
"Sounds fun. I'm down." Alyssa smiles.
"You guys can spend the night if you want. My parents are leaving tonight to go get my grandparents and won't be back until tomorrow around noon." Troy tells us.
Alyssa looks at me, trying to see if I'm going to agree with that. It seems like once she looked at me; everyone started to look at me. I look down at Jordan, who's giving me a small smile. Like he's saying I don't have to if I don't want to.
I look back at Troy, "Sure."
"Cool. Everyone meets at my house around six o'clock." Troy says.
"What are we going to eat for the night?" Jake asks.
"I was thinking we could cook a home cooked meal. We order pizza and stuff all the time." Troy rolls his eyes.
"I'm down with that. We can make tacos. I'm feeling like eating Mexican food tonight." Jordan offers.
Troy claps his hands together, "Alright. Abby you're in charge of the beef. I'll get the taco shells. Alyssa you're in charge of the sauce for the meat. Jordan, you get the cheese. Daniel you'll get the lettuce. Jake you'll get the tomatoes and Ryan you'll get the drinks."
"Sounds great. Abby you want to come with me and get the stuff?" Alyssa asks.
I nod my head, "Yeah, I'll go. Here, take my car keys, Jake. I'll ride with Alyssa."
I toss my keys to Jake and he catches them, putting them into his pocket. I turn towards Jordan and kiss him on the lips.
"I'll see you tonight." I say.
"Alright, Midget." He kisses me again and I get up with Alyssa, leaving.
*****
"What taco sauce should I get?" Alyssa asks, holding up two different packs.
We've been in the store for about fifteen minutes now, trying to decide on taco sauce and mix. I still haven't gotten the beef yet.
"I don't know. Just choose one." I sigh.
"This is important. If I get the wrong stuff, it can ruin the whole night for everyone." She argues.
"Okay, while you're choosing a sauce, I'm going to go get the beef." I point towards the meat section with my thumb and she rolls her eyes, waving me off.
I walk over to the meat and look over my options. I pick up a small packet and a large packet, looking at the prices. I also have to think about the guys because they eat like a bunch of grizzly bears. I should just get two large packets of ground beef.
"You're such a fat ass. Wow, think that is enough beef." I turn to see Virginia standing there with a smirk on her face.
I drop the meat and roll my eyes, "Are you that obsessed with me that you follow me to a store to insult me?"
She laughs evilly, "Please. You wish I would give you the time of day. You probably masturbate at night thinking of me. Sorry, Abby, but I'm not a lesbian. Even if I were one, I wouldn't date someone like you."
"If I remember correctly, you did kiss me at a party." I say.
"Only to show you how I kiss Jordan and why eventually he's going to come back to me." She smirks.
I never realized how bad her comebacks were until now. Like, they literally make no sense. I stare at her stupidly before turning to walk away.
"Are you and Jordan still together?" She asks.
I stop dead in my tracks and smirk to myself. For the first time, Virginia sounds unsure and not so confident. I have what she wants. I now have the upper hand and I'm not going to miss the chance to rub it in her face.
I turn around and smirk, "Yup. We've been going strong for about three months now. We're actually getting together tonight and cooking dinner. Alyssa, the guys, and me."
I can tell she's jealous, but she quickly recovers. "Wow, I can't believe you guys are so desperate for popularity. Going to let the guys run a train on you. I knew you were desperate, but not Alyssa."
I step forward, "It's not like that. Just because all they wanted from you was sex, doesn't mean that's the only thing they want from us."
She lets out a humorless laugh. "Please. Jordan doesn't want any sex? That's like fish not wanting any water. They absolutely need it. Just like Jordan absolutely needs sex."
"Well, you're wrong. We haven't had..." I'm about to tell her we haven't had sex, but then I realize it's not any of her business.
"You two haven't done it yet? He's gone three months without sex?" She asks surprised.
She shakes her head in disbelief, "Wow, this is really surprising to me. It won't be long before he dumps you then. Jordan loves sex. Even if he is in love with you, without sex, he's eventually going to get bored with you and drop you for someone that can satisfy his needs. Word of advice, give it up before it's too late."
She walks pass me and I think about ripping her fake extensions out of her head. How dare she try to give me advice on my relationship. Jordan loves me. We don't need sex to communicate how we feel about each other. But is that something he wants? We never really discussed it. I mean, that one time in the movie theaters' bathroom kind of hinted that he might want to have sex with me. Jordan wouldn't break up with me because we're not having sex. Right?
I sigh in frustration. I pick up the two ground beef packets right when Alyssa comes up to me.
"You won't believe who I just saw. Virginia. She was on the same aisle as me, and she actually had the nerve to wave at me." She rolls her eyes.
"I have a question. Do you think Jordan wants to have sex with me?" I ask.
She stares at me questioningly, "Um, where is this coming from?"
"Virginia said some things to me and..."
She cuts me off, "That's where you went wrong. You shouldn't be listening to her. All guys want to have sex, but things with you and Jordan are different. He doesn't care about sex. He's in love with you and I'm sure he'll wait a decade if you want him to."
I smile at her, "You're right. I can't believe I just let Virginia get inside of my head."
"Me either. Let's go pay for this stuff so that we can leave. I need to pack some clothes for tonight." She says.
We pay for the stuff before leaving and heading to my house. I pack a few clothes for tonight and then we head to Alyssa's house to get some clothes. I'm assuming Jake is already at Troy's house because my car wasn't at my house. Once we're done with all of that, we go to Troy's house. I really hope that they didn't choose a movie like they did last time. I still blush at the thought of the guys and me watching Fifty Shades Of Grey.
"Let me grab your things." Troy comes out of the house and grabs Alyssa and my bag.
"Thanks, Troy. Is everyone here?" I ask.
"Everyone except Daniel. He's arguing with his dad about a fishing trip they were supposed to take today, but Daniel obviously doesn't want to go. His dad is always trying to bond with him when what Daniel really needs is some space." He says.
Alyssa laughs, "You sound like a therapist."
Troy laughs, "The only therapist I would want to be is a physical one."
He wiggles his eyebrows at Alyssa and me. We laugh and hit his arm before going inside with him.
"I'm assuming that you gals will be sharing a room with your boyfriends or did you guys plan on sharing one with each other?" Troy questions.
I hadn't thought about that. Jordan and I have slept in the same bed plenty of times, but for some reason this feels different. I mean, there are no adults in the house. We're practically going to be alone tonight. I don't want to ruin Alyssa's fun. I know she wants to room with Daniel, so I also have to think about what she wants.
"I was going to room with Jordan tonight." I say, not sounding so confident in my decision.
Troy smirks, "Alrighty then."
He takes our bags upstairs and I turn around to look at Alyssa, who's raising an eyebrow at me.
"What?" I ask.
"You don't have to room with Jordan if you don't want to. Daniel and I can always have some alone time some other time. If you're not ready, then we can..."
I cut her off, "I'm fine. Really. I want to room with Jordan."
It's the truth. I do want to room with Jordan. Every since he touched me, I've been craving him a lot more lately. Especially when we go for our afternoon jog and he's shirtless. The sweat is dripping down his body and the wind his blowing through his hair. His chest is moving up and down. The way his lips move when he's breathing out of his mouth. Wow, I really need to control my hormones right now.
"Earth to Abby." Alyssa snaps her fingers in front of my face, bring me back to reality.
"Yeah?" I respond.
She shakes her head, "You really need to get laid soon. I can tell you're sexually frustrated."
My mouth drops and she laughs. "I am not." I argue.
She rolls her eyes, "Whatever. Let's go into the kitchen and get started on the food."
She loops her arm through mine and we go into the kitchen. Ryan is chopping up vegetables and Jordan is measuring something out. They actually look like real cooks and it's kind of a turn on.
"Wow, you guys actually look like you know what you're doing?" Alyssa says, going over to where Ryan is standing.
"That's because we do, sweetheart. We all know how to cook. We used to cook every Saturday." Ryan informs us.
"Really? Who taught you guys how to cook?" Alyssa questions, not believing him.
"My sister taught me before she died. She taught all of us. Best damn cook in town. She wanted to own her own restaurant eventually, but..."
He doesn't finish the sentence and Alyssa places her hand on his shoulder. I remember Jordan mentioning to me his sister died, but he never told me how. Each and everyone of the guys have went through something tremendous and it amazes me how strong they are and how they stick together.
"Well, it smells good up in here. What do you guys want us to do?" I change the subject.
Ryan sends me a grateful smile, "You can go help Jordan with our famous taco sauce. Alyssa you can help me chop up the vegetables."
I nod my head before going over to Jordan. He's pouring some liquid into a bowl and smiles at me when he sees me coming.
"Well, hey, beautiful. Came to come help?" He asks.
I nod my head, "Yup. I was told you guys came up with this ingredient."
"Yup. We made it by accident one night. We were just fooling around and some things spilled and mixed together. Anyways, since then, this has been like our famous secret recipe that we eat on our tacos. You, Alyssa, and Jake our going to love it." He smiles.
"Well, can I know this famous secret ingredient?" I smile.
He laughs a little, "I don't know. Can you keep a secret?"
"I'm sure I can." I put my hand on his forearm seductively.
"Okay, but save that for later. I'm assuming we're rooming together?" He hands over a piece of paper with the recipe on it.
"Yup." I pop the "P".
His hands snake around my waist, "Good." He kisses my cheek before going back to stirring the stuff in the bowl.
I start to add different things in there when he tells me too. Jake comes in with some movies that he's picked up from the red box.
"Me and Earl and the dying girl?" Ryan questions.
"I heard it was a good movie." I say.
Ryan rolls his eyes, "Sure it is. What else did you get?"
"I got San Andreas, Spy, and The Final Girls." Jake says.
"I haven't seen San Andreas before. Nice pick." Ryan says.
Troy comes in with two bottles of liquor. "Wouldn't be a party without liquor."
"You know, I'm starting to think you're a drunk Troy. This isn't supposed to be a party. No one is drinking tonight." Alyssa says.
He rolls his eyes, "You don't have to drink, but I am."
She rolls her eyes before going over to the stove to start cooking the beef. I laugh at how Troy and Alyssa never seem to agree on anything. Honestly, they're too blunt and honest for each other. Maybe that's why she ended up with Daniel out of all the guys.
"Okay, now we just let it sit in the fridge." Jordan takes the bowl and puts it into the fridge before going over to Ryan.
Jake comes over to me, "I have to tell you something."
He looks mad and I immediately become worried, "What's wrong?"
"Let's go somewhere private. Away from everyone." He says.
I nod my head and we leave the kitchen, going unnoticed. We go into the living room and I take a seat next to him. He sighs before looking at me. He seems really upset about whatever he's about to tell me.
"My parents want me to come back and live with them. They're threatening to go to the police if I don't come back home." He says.
I stand up, "They can't do that! Can they do that?"
"Honestly, they can. They're my legal guardians. I'll be eighteen in two more months and then I can leave, but until then, I'm stuck with them." He sighs.
I sit back down and lean my head on his shoulder. "Please tell me you're still going to be with me for Christmas."
He shakes his head, "They want me with them for Christmas. That's the reason why they want me to even come back. They're hosting a Christmas dinner and if I'm not there, people are going to know something is up."
My heart drops to my stomach for my best friend. They don't want him to come back because they miss and care about him, but because of their image. It upsets me so much that I can't do anything about it and I know he's barely holding on by a thread.
"Hey, don't cry." He wipes my cheek.
I hadn't realized I was even crying. I bury my head in his chest and close my eyes. He wraps his arms around me and I know I shouldn't be the one crying right now, but I can't help it. This is my best friend. He doesn't deserve to go through any of this.
"Everything is going to be okay, Abby. It's not like I won't ever see you again. We live right next to each other." He tries and reassure me.
He kisses the top of my head, "I didn't mean to ruin your night. Let's just forget about everything and have a good time tonight."
I nod my head, "You're right. We're not going to let your parents have another second of your happiness or mine."
We both stand up. "That's my girl. Now let's get back in there before Jordan thinks I've kidnapped you or something."
I smile and wipe my eyes before following him back into the kitchen. The food smells so good that my mouth begins to water. Alyssa is cooking the beef still, but it's almost done. Jordan and Ryan are sitting on the counter with a beer in their hands. Troy is getting the shells out of the oven and Daniel is playing music on his phone.
"What did we miss?" I ask, going over to Jordan.
"Well, Daniel just got here. He snuck out of the house." He laughs, his eyes shining because of the lights in the kitchen.
"For your information, I didn't sneak out. I told him I was leaving and he said no. Just because he said no, doesn't mean I wasn't still going to leave." He says.
Troy laughs, "You two are going to end up fighting. I can already see it."
"And you know what kills me? He has the nerve to look heart broken whenever we argue. He brought this upon himself, so he has no right to feel sad or try to make me feel guilty." Daniel takes a drink of his beer.
"Calm down, buddy. That's what tonight is for. For us all to relax and enjoy each other's company." Jordan says.
"Jordan is right. Everybody get a beer or something to drink and let's raise our cups." Troy demands.
Everyone grabs a cup and pours soda or beer into their cup. Troy lifts his cup in the air and so do we.
"You know, a few months ago, I would have never thought that my group of friends would ever expand. I always thought it would just be Jordan, Ryan, Daniel, and me. But I'm glad Jordan met Abby and I'm glad Abby introduced us to Jake and Alyssa. Even though I can't stand Alyssa ninety-nine percent of the time." He winks at her and she smiles and shoots him a bird.
"But honestly. Abby, Jake, and Alyssa you guys are like my family now. I'm happy for both Jordan and Daniel. They've finally found two girls to tie them down. I, myself, don't understand why they would want to be tied down to one girl, but hey that's none of my business. Anyways, I'm rambling, so let's make a toast to Jake, Alyssa, and Abby. Our new family members." He raises his cup higher.
"Our new family members!" Jordan, Ryan, and Daniel yell.
I smile along with Jake and Alyssa before clicking our cups together and drinking it. I have soda in my cup, of course.
"Okay, is the food done because I'm starving." Jordan complains.
"Actually, it is." Alyssa says.
"Well, while you guys stand around having an emotional moment, I'm going to stuff my face." Jordan hops off the counter and begins to put food on his plate.
The guys follow after him. Whatever happened to ladies first? By the time it's Alyssa and my turn to get some food, it's almost gone. These guys can really eat. We fix our food and go into the living room. They've put the movie San Andreas in.
"The Rock is bae." Alyssa says.
I smile and agree with her, "Definitely."
"Um, boyfriend sitting right here. I can hear every word you two are saying." Daniel says.
Jordan looks at me too, and I send him a wink. We eat all of our food about thirty minutes into the movie. I have to admit, the sauce that the guys came up with is really good. The movie ends and Ryan pops in The Final Girl. The boys drool over Nina Dobrev and Alyssa and I roll our eyes at them. She's okay. By the time we get to the third movie, it's eleven forty-one. I'm getting tired and I can tell everyone else is too. I yawn and lean my head back against the sofa cushion. Jordan comes and sits beside me on the floor.
"Sleepy?" He asks.
I nod my head. "Yeah. I think I'm about to turn in."
"I think I am too. How about I give you a piggy back ride upstairs?" He smiles.
I smile sleepily, "You're the best."
He helps me stand up and turns around so that I can jump on his back. I do and rest my head against his back closing my eyes.
"Midget and I are about to turn in. We'll catch you guys in the morning." Jordan says.
"Use protection." I hear Troy say as we're leaving out.
My eyes snap open. I wasn't actually planning on having sex with Jordan tonight. Honestly, as much as I'm craving him to touch me again; I don't think I'm ready to have sex with him yet. We haven't been dating that long and although I love him a lot, the moment isn't right.
"Don't worry, Midget. I don't plan on taking you up here to have sex with you. You can relax." He says.
"How did you know what I was thinking?" I ask.
"Your legs tightened around my waist and your body started shaking lightly." He says.
He opens the door to the room and sets me down on the bed. He starts to undress in front of me and I look away, blushing. I'll never get used to Jordan's body. When it's my turn to change into something to sleep in; I make him look away. He sneaks a few glances at me and I pretend to be annoyed, but really, I like when he looks at me.
I lay beside him and rest my head on his chest. He turns the TV on because he can't go to sleep if the TV isn't on. I listen to the rhythm of his heartbeat and I feel myself slowly drifting off to sleep.
"Jordan." I say.
"Yeah." He responds.
"Do you want to have sex with me?" I ask.
I can feel him shift and I know he's looking at me now. "Why do you ask that?" He asks.
"We've been dating for like three months now and you've had to go without sex for that long. You used to be a real active guy." I hate thinking about the girls he used to be with, but that used to be him.
"Midget, the love I feel for you over powers my sexual desires. I will admit that I do want to have sex, but at the same time I want you to be ready. I don't want you to feel like you have to have sex with me because that's what I want. I want you to want that, too, okay?" He says.
I smile and kiss him on the chest. "I love you."
He smiles, "I love you. Now go to bed and stop trying to seduce me."
I laugh, "Whatever. You wish."
He kisses me on the forehead and I snuggle into him. He wraps his arms around me and I feel like I'm in heaven. Before I know it, I'm falling asleep and dreaming about Jordan and I making love for the first time.
