Chapter 32: 32. Abby

A Jock, A Nerd, and A BetWords: 26243

The bell has just rung and I'm going to my locker. It's the end of the day and also the beginning of spring break. I can hardly contain my excitement right now. I start to put my things in my locker when I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I start to smile to myself before turning away.

"Hey, handsome." I smile.

"Hey, beautiful." He smiles, kissing me quickly.

I close my locker and he takes my hand in his. "Spring break has officially started. I have everything planned out." We begin to walk down the hall and out the front door of the school.

"Great. Alyssa and I are having some girl time together today and then we'll head to Troy's house later on tonight. We're still leaving in the morning right?" I ask.

"Yes, ma'am. Don't forget to bring a dress and a swimsuit. I'll see you later on tonight, Midget." He kisses me on the cheek before heading over to his car.

I shake my head, smiling at him before getting in my car. Alyssa thinks we should go to the spa today and get ourselves ready for the amazing week we're about to have. I guess I should also stop by the mall and get a new dress and some swimsuits. I stop outside of Alyssa's house and go up to the front door, knocking on it. Alyssa's mom opens the door with a wide smile.

"Abby, come in. It's been a while since I've seen you." She opens the door wider, allowing me to come in.

"Hey, Mrs. McCord. How have you been?" I ask, being polite.

"I've been great. I can't believe that you and Alyssa will be going off to college this year." She starts to sniff and I begin to feel awkward.

I walk over and hug her because that seems like the right thing to do. Alyssa's mom has always been a very emotional person and she cries over the smallest of things, but she's always treated me like a second daughter.

"Aw, Mrs. McCord. Don't cry." I pat her on the back and mentally wish that Alyssa would hurry up and come out. She probably doesn't even know I'm here.

We pull apart and Mrs. McCord wipes her eyes. "Let me get Alyssa for you." She says, disappearing and confirming my thoughts.

A few minutes later, Alyssa comes out with her hair tied into a pony tail, wearing a red crop top tank and keepers stone boyfriend shorts. I remember her buying the shorts at the mall because they cost sixty four dollars, but Alyssa claimed she just had to have them.

"Oh my God. I'm so sorry I had you waiting with my mom. She didn't cry, did she?" She asks.

"Um, she might have shed a tear or two." I tell her.

She looks embarrassed and she grabs the sandals that are laying beside the couch. She puts them on and sighs.

"She's been really emotional. Prom is the Saturday we come back to school and then a few weeks after that it's graduation. She's been sending out invitations to my family, so it's making her super emotional." She explains.

I nod my head, "Got cha. She'll be okay, right?"

"Yeah. Let's just hurry up and leave before she breaks out the baby pictures of me." I laugh and she drags me out of the house.

We get into my car and take off towards the spa. Alyssa turns up the music and starts to rock along to some new Ariana Grande song.

"So, I was wondering if we could stop by the mall after coming from the spa. Jordan told me to get a dress and a swimsuit, so I need to stop by that dress store in the mall." I tell her.

"A dress? Sounds like he has a romantic night planned for you two." I look over at her and she's wiggling her eyebrows.

I blush, "Whatever. I don't think he plans on doing anything romantic the first couple of nights. The guys have been talking about going out to parties and stuff, so I'm sure he's going to surprise me when I least expect it."

"Well, if I could, I would stay in the bed the whole time with Daniel. He's just so good at what he does. The way he touches me, kisses all over my..."

I cut her off, "Please! Spare me the details!"

She laughs, "Oh, come on. After you have sex with Jordan, you'll be wanting to tell me all about it."

I smile at her because I know it's true. I've already told her about what I've decided and she thinks as long as I'm ready to do that then I should go for it. I don't see what's the point of waiting. I mean, I love Jordan and he loves me. Why wait if I'm going to be feeling the same way about him tomorrow and the day after that and so on and so forth.

We get to the spa and enter in. There are a lot of people here, most likely getting ready for spring break themselves. We go up to the counter where a lady with red hair is reading a magazine.

"Hello." Alyssa greets.

The woman looks up from her magazine, placing it down like she didn't really want to. I read her name tag that says Jane.

"Welcome to Sam's Spa. What can I do for you?" She asks.

"My friend and I were wondering if we could get our legs waxed, a Brazilian wax, and our hands and feet done." Alyssa says.

"We're getting a Brazilian wax?" I ask, shocked. I've never gotten one before and Alyssa knows that.

"It's not that bad. I promise." She says.

I nod my head and the woman looks at me as if I'm a kid or something. She goes back to writing our requests down before telling us the price. We split the bill in half and get ourselves ready for this awkward embarrassing moment. Well, I'm sure I'm the only one feeling awkward and embarrassed about this.

"Will you relax. It's not like they're going to be inspecting your vagina." Alyssa says.

"They might as well. They're going to be removing hair from my private part, so I'm pretty sure they'll be inspecting my vagina." I rush out.

"Just calm down. It'll be over before you know it." She reassures me.

Two women come up to us and call our name. Apparently, we don't go in the same room which scares me even more. I do not want to do this alone, but I pretend like I don't have a problem with this. The woman that is taking me to the private room is Naudia. She seems really nice and I'm sure she can tell I'm nervous.

"Okay, if you'll just slip your shorts and panties off, then hop on the table that'll be great." She says, going over to get her materials.

"Okay." I look around like I'm expecting someone to pop out on me, but no one is in here besides Naudia and me.

I slip everything off and quickly hop on the table. Oh my goodness this feels awkward. I'm nervous and my heart feels like it's about to beat out of my chest. I want to cover my bottom half with something, but I can't exactly do that. She walks back over to me and sits down in a chair.

"Okay. What you're going to do is put your feet together and spread your knees. The butterfly position." She says.

"O-okay." I stammer, tentatively spreading my legs.

I look up at the ceiling, not wanting to see her do her job. This is extremely awkward. Is this what my first time with Jordan will feel like? Probably not. I don't know this woman and I know Jordan. I'm in love with Jordan, so I doubt it'll feel this embarrassing to be doing something like this.

After she puts the wax and strip on, she yanks the strip off. It takes everything in me not to cry and shout at the woman. She then goes on to doing my legs. Once we're done with everything, I'm allowed to go back up front to get my hands and feet done. I put back on my underwear and panties and hurry out of that room. I'm met with Alyssa and a smile appears on her face.

"How was it?" She asks.

"Horrible. I'm never doing that again. It hurts so bad." I say.

"It's only because you're not used to it. I promise, the more you do it the less it hurts." We head up front and we sit beside each other in the chairs, getting our feet done.

"I absolutely do not care. I never want to do that again. It's awkward too." I say.

"Are you both getting red on your toes?" The woman asks and we nod our head.

"Well, yeah, that's true. You get used to that too. At least it's not a man doing it. Some people get a man." She says.

If I had of gotten a man, I wouldn't have been able to go through with it. I sit back and try to relax. We sit and talk about different things, but we mostly talk about spring break. Alyssa is really excited about being with Daniel for a whole week. I can't blame her. I'm just as excited to spend a whole week with Jordan. After we get our nails done, we head towards the mall.

"So, I was thinking since you're going to be losing your virginity and what not this week; you should get some sexy lingerie." Alyssa suggests.

"I don't know. I don't really think I have the body for it." I admit.

"Are you crazy! Girls would kill to have your body. We'll go into Victoria's Secret after we get a dress. Not only will you look sexy in front of Jordan, but it makes you feel confident, too." She tells me.

"Alrighty then." I say.

I'm in luck when I find a parking space close to the entrance. We both get out and head inside of the mall. It's not as many people in here like I thought it would be. We get to the store that sells the best dresses and start looking around. Alyssa didn't say if she planned on getting a dress of her own, but she's picking up different ones putting them up to herself, so I'm assuming she's going to get a few herself.

I pick up this crochet sleeveless mini lace navy blue cocktail dress. It's beautiful. I go into a dressing room and try it on. It fits me perfectly and it really brings out the blue in my eyes. I change out of the dress and look around the store for some heels to go along with the dress. I pick out some black pumps and head to the register. The dress and the heels together are both expensive, but they're worth it. I only hope that Jordan likes it. I wait for Alyssa and she finally comes up to the register with three dresses and two pairs of heels. She has no limit when she spends.

When we get to Victoria's Secret, Alyssa immediately starts grabbing lingerie for me. She claims she's going to buy the bras and panties while I buy myself some perfume and makeup. I try to tell her I'm more than capable of buying my own stuff, but she won't listen to me. I think she just doesn't want me to see what she's going to buy me because she knows I'll object against it. I end up buying two new perfumes and lotions before making my way to the counter. I pay for the stuff and a few seconds later, Alyssa comes up to the counter paying for the bras and panties. She has me close my eyes until the stuff is in the bags. We leave out of the store and walk around for a few minutes.

"Crap, I forgot to get a swimsuit." I say.

"I got two for both of us back in Victoria's Secret. We're good." She says.

I nod my head, "The guys haven't called us at all today. I wonder what they're doing."

"Probably playing that stupid playstation and talking about how drunk they plan on getting this week." She laughs.

"Probably. Want to stop by the food court and get some cookies. I have a craving for chocolate chip cookies." She nods her head and we both go to the food court.

I order four chocolate chip cookies and a vanilla milkshake. The chocolate chip cookies are huge, so I doubt I'll be able to eat all four. I'll just give the rest to Jake because I know he loves chocolate chip cookies just like me. Alyssa orders peanut butter cookies and a caramel milkshake. We sit down at a table for a minute, not really ready to leave yet.

"I'm glad we got to spend today together." Alyssa says out of the blue.

"Me too. It's been a while since it was just you and me hanging out." I sip on my milkshake, looking around the food court.

"Yeah. It's usually just you and Jake hanging out. Sometimes I feel left out of the loop, you know?" I look over at her and she looks kind of sad.

I lean over and grab her hand. "Hey, I'm sorry. We hadn't meant to make you feel like that. I mean, he lives with me and everything so it's kind of hard not to spend a lot of time with him."

"I know. It's just how I feel sometimes." She gives me a smile that tells me everything is okay with us.

After we finish our milkshakes and a few of our cookies, we leave the mall. Alyssa texts Daniel, asking him if it's okay if we come to Troy's house and he tells us we can come. We have to stop by my house and Alyssa's house to get some clothes before we go to Troy's.

Alyssa is sitting on my bed, going through one of my books. "You should pack those boyfriend jeans that you just recently bought."

I look through my closet and pull out a pair of jeans and hold them up so she can see. "These?" I ask.

She shakes her head, "The other ones."

I go through my closet again and pull out another pair of jeans and hold them up so she can see them. She gives me a thumbs up and I fold them up, putting them in my bag. I mostly packed shorts and tank tops, but I packed a few other things just in case I get cold or something, but I doubt that I will. I pass my bag over to Alyssa so she can put my lingerie in it. I still don't understand why I can't just see them. We put my bags into the trunk of my car and head to her house. She packed before we left the house earlier (which I should have done) so when we get to her house, she grabs her things quickly and put them into my trunk.

I drive off and make my way towards Troy's house. Alyssa is touching up her makeup and I smile at how beautiful my best friend is. She really doesn't need the make up. When we get to Troy's house, we grab our bags and go up to the front door. I knock on the door and wait for someone to come. I hear music playing which tells me the guys are having a small party.

"Why are they taking so long to come to the door?" I ask Alyssa and she shrugs.

She pounds on the door a couple of times before ringing the doorbell. The door opens suddenly and we're met with Jake.

"Girls. Nice of you to finally join us." He smiles, turning around and leaving us.

I give Alyssa a weird look before stepping into the house. The music gets louder and I can tell it's coming from a room on down the hall. I look at Alyssa, silently asking her what we should do. She points upstairs and I head for the stairs. I go to the room that I slept in last time and I see Jordan's stuff on the bed. I toss my stuff into the room and wait for Alyssa to come out of the room she was just in. She walks out a few minutes later and we head back downstairs. We follow the music and open the door to a room we haven't been in before. Ryan, Daniel, and Jake are playing a video game and drinking beer while Jordan and Troy are playing pool and drinking beer. I'm assuming this is like their man cave.

"Ladies. You guys have finally arrived!" Troy smiles a drunk smile.

"Wow, getting a jump start on the partying." Alyssa says, going over to Daniel and kissing him on the cheek.

"Yup." He takes a big gulp of his beer before taking his turn in the game.

"Well, don't just stand by the door beautiful. Come on in." Jordan motions me over and I slowly walk over to him.

He kisses me on the side of the head. His lips are pink and cold from the beer. "Did you have fun today?" He asks me.

"Yeah. You won't believe what I did today." My cheeks heat up just from thinking about it.

"What happened?" He asks, bending down to take his turn.

I watch as the muscles in his arm flex as he shoots the ball. I go into a trance and have to fight back the temptation of wanting to touch his arm.

"Midget? Did you hear me?" He says, breaking me out of my trance.

"Um, yeah. I'll tell you later on." I say.

He nods his head and goes back to watching the game. Troy hits the white ball, making a red one go into the hole. This honestly boring. I walk away from Jordan and Troy and go over to Ryan, Daniel, Jake, and Alyssa.

"What are you guys playing?" I ask.

"Some racing game." Alyssa tells me.

"Well, why don't we connect the Wii and play just dance?" I suggest.

The guys all turn around and look at me before laughing. "Good one, Abby." Daniel says.

"Come on. This isn't fair. What are Alyssa and I supposed to do?" I ask.

"Go find something to do like we did." Jake says.

I thump him on the back of the head and leave out of the room. The guys are assholes when they're drunk. I climb the stairs two at a time and go into the room that I'll be spending the night in. I see my phone lighting up and I go over to it to see Skylar calling me.

"Hello." I answer.

"Hey." She replies.

"What's up?" I wonder why she's calling. We usually only talk whenever we're at practice or at a game.

"I tried calling Alyssa, but she didn't pick up. I was just wondering if you two wanted to hang out. A couple of girls from the team are meeting up at the park with the huge lake and what not. Just listen to music, drink a little, and pop some firecrackers." She tells me.

She's talking about the park Jordan and I usually run to. I think about it for a second. Why not? It's boring as hell here and obviously no one is paying attention to me. I look at the time to see it's eight thirty. I'll just go out for a bit.

"Sure. I'll meet you guys there." I say.

"Alright. See you soon." She hangs up.

I go to my bag and take out a crop top with a band on the front of it and a pair of jeans. I put that on and put on my black ankle boots. I throw my hair up into a messy bun and head downstairs. Should I tell them I'm gone? Nah, they told me to go find something to do and that's exactly what I'm doing. I get into my car and head to the park. It's a beautiful night outside and I'm actually glad I'm getting out instead of being in the house. When I get there, I park beside the rest of the cars that belong to some of the girls from the team. Some I don't recognize. I get out and walk through the gates of the park. I follow the sound of music and after a few minutes of walking, I spot Skylar and some other people. I walk down the small hill and walk over to her and some of the girls from the team.

"Hey, Abby. Where's Alyssa?" She looks behind me as if Alyssa will pop up any minute.

"Um, she couldn't come. Busy." I say.

"Oh, that sucks. Well, I'm glad you're here. Join the small party. The drinks are in the cooler if you want one." She offers.

I shake my head, "I'm good. I have to drive."

"Right." She takes a sip of the beer in her hands.

Since this conversation is over, I walk away. I look around and spot a few of the girls from the team. I also see some guys from the baseball team. I remember seeing them because I went to a game that Jake had recently. I also see Stephen, leaning up against a tree, whispering in a girl's ear. He's obviously drunk and the girl is giggling at whatever he's saying. I wonder if he drove here. He catches me staring at him and I try to look away like I wasn't just staring at him. I walk away and go over to the cooler with the drinks in it. I look through it and pull out a bottle of water.

I sit down on top of the picnic table and listen to the music. The song Summertime Sadness is playing. I start to rock my head back and forth to the music, closing my eyes. There's a lot of commotion going on around me, but right now I feel relaxed and good. There's a slight breeze going on, good music, and I'm surrounded by people who are my friends. Are they my friends? I don't think you get invited somewhere without being friends with the people.

"Want to dance?" I open my eyes to see a tan guy with dirty blonde hair standing in front of me.

"Um, no thank you." I say.

He smiles, "Aw, come on. Everyone around here is dancing. Just one dance." He slurs.

He's drunk. Just great. I look around the place, wishing someone would come to my rescue. He seems like he isn't going to take no for an answer, but I'm not getting up to dance with him.

"Well?" He says, still standing there.

"Tyler, why are you bothering my date?" I turn my head to see Stephen standing there. I sigh in relief.

"This is your girl?" The guy, who's name is Tyler, says.

Stephen nods his head and Tyler backs up off of me. "Sorry, bro. You're a lucky guy and you shouldn't be leaving her out in the open like this." He smirks at me before walking off.

I turn to Stephen whose eyes are red. "Thanks." I say.

"No problem. You looked uncomfortable and he's a pretty persistent guy." He sits on top of the picnic table and takes a drink of his beer.

"Don't you think you've had enough?" I ask.

He laughs a little. "I'm sorry. Are you the only one allowed to get drunk?" I know he's referring to that time he caught me somewhat drunk at my house when the guys were there.

"I'm just saying. This is twice that I've seen you drunk." I look down for a minute before looking back up at him.

"Well, I'm going through a lot. The girl that I'm in love with is in love with the guy that I fucking hate and she doesn't even want anything to do with me." He takes another gulp of his beer before tossing it to the side. He really shouldn't litter. I'm avoiding the the topic.

"That's not true, Stephen. I'm sorry about the day of Jake's party. I wasn't thinking clearly and that was stupid of me to do. And I'm sorry that we haven't been hanging out. I promise if you forgive me, I'll make it up to you." I place my hand on his forearm and he looks down at it.

He sighs before taking my hand in his. "I wish things were like they used to be before you fell in love with Jordan. We used to go out and sing to each other. I miss us both ordering Sprite on our dates. I just miss the way we used to be."

He places my hand back on my thigh and I feel a sharp pain in my heart. "But you're no good for me, Abby. I need to heal properly before I can try to be friends with you. You have good intentions, but I just need time to myself. Maybe during the summer or something we can hang out and try the friendship thing, but right now I need some space away from you." He gets up off the picnic table and walks away, leaving me.

I look down at the ground and think about how I just deserved that. I've hurt him plenty of times and he's right. Maybe he does need time to heal before we try the friend thing.

"Start them up!" I hear a girl shout.

I watch as a guy lights up some firecrackers and a few seconds later, they blast up into the sky. The colors red, blue, green, orange, and purple light up the sky. I smile at how beautiful the sky looks. I wish that Jordan was here. I'd say something about how beautiful this is and he'd say something like not beautiful as me. For the next ten minutes I watch the fireworks. Skylar runs over to me and grabs me by the arm, pulling me off the picnic table.

"Come dance with me. You've been sitting here the whole time." She smiles, pulling me over to the girls from the team.

The song Sugar by Maroon 5 is playing. I watch as she starts to dance and I look around trying to see if anyone is looking at me. I'm a little shy about dancing in front of people I don't really know. Unless I have alcohol in my system, then I can dance in front of the president.

"Come on! Dance! No one is looking." She says before closing her eyes and throwing her arms up in the air.

I slowly start to dance, feeling for the beat. After a few minutes, I'm dancing along with Skylar, Lindsey, and Mya in a big group. I feel so carefree and alive. Today has to be one of the best days of my life. After dancing to about eight songs straight, I tell the girls I have to go. They try to get me to stay for one more song, but I turn them down.

When I get into my car, I check the time on my phone. Eleven fifty-one. I can't believe I stayed out that long. It sure didn't feel like it. I also see that I have eight missed calls from Jordan, three from Jake, and three from Alyssa. I decide to call Jordan back first since he's probably seconds away from reporting me missing.

"Hello." He answers on the third ring. He sounds relieved.

"Hey." I say.

"Hey? That's all I get? Midget, I've been going out of mind for two straight hours. You leave the house without telling anyone and call me back after I've called you eight times and all I get is a hey?" He fusses.

I would laugh if it weren't for the fact that I know he would get mad. "I'm fine, Jordan. I'll be at Troy's house in about ten minutes."

"Where are you?" He questions.

"I'll tell you when I get there. Bye." I hang up the phone and start the car, leaving the park.

When I get to Troy's house, Jordan is waiting outside. I'm in trouble. I get out of the car and walk up to the front door and meet his angry glare.

"You're here, so explain." He says.

"Can we go upstairs first? I'm exhausted and these boots are killing my feet." I walk pass him and go inside. I go upstairs and go into the room.

I take off my boots, chunking them towards my bag. Jordan comes in a few seconds later, still giving me that stupid angry glare. He doesn't have any right to be mad. He's the one that rather play some stupid pool game than talk to me.

He raises an eyebrow and I sigh. "I was out with some girls from the softball team." I say.

"Out where?" He asks, wanting me to go into detail.

I stand up, going over to my bag and taking out something to sleep in. "To the park that we run to. They had some fireworks and music going on."

"Were there guys there?" He asks.

"Yes." I say.

"Did you dance with any of them?" He continues.

I unzip my jeans and pull them down. I'm so tired that I don't even care about Jordan being right in front of me. Jordan intakes a sharp breath and I find myself smirking a little at his reaction.

"Nope." I pop the p.

I throw my jeans on top of my bag and pull on my pajama shorts. Jordan walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me against his body.

"Good. Because you're mine and no one should be touching you, but me." He leans down and kisses me.

He pulls away from me. "And if you ever undress in front of me like that again, I will take you wherever we are."

I feel a tingling sensation down there at the thought of Jordan having sex with me. I squeeze my thighs together and he laughs at my reaction. I blush hard before pushing him away from me.

"Turn around so that I can change out of my top." I demand.

He smiles, "Whatever, Midget."

I laugh at him and quickly change out of my top. After I'm done, we both get in bed. We're in a spooning position, but I can't complain. This is my favorite way to sleep with Jordan.

"Good night, Midget. I love you." He whispers.

I yawn, "Good night, Jordan. Love you more."

Jordan wraps his arms around my waist and I smile to myself before falling asleep. It doesn't take long for me to fall asleep because I'm exhausted from the spa and dancing all night.
