I was curling my hair while talking to Alyssa, who was sitting on my bed. "So, who is hotter," I saw her smile through the mirror, "Jordan or Stephen?"
I placed my curling wand on the table in front of me and turned around. "Why would you even ask me something like that? We're only friends." I tell her.
I get up and slip on white heels to go along with my purple dress I had on. Alyssa was forcing me to wear this because she said it was basically my first date.
"Yeah, right. Jordan flirts with you constantly and Stephen always wants to hang out with you. They both like you." She pointed out.
She gets up and goes over to my jewelry box. My mom bought all that stuff, but I never wore any of it. The only thing I wore was a necklace that Matt got me. He got it for me for my birthday and I started wearing it more when he went off to college.
"Here, put on these diamond earrings." She tossed them to me and I barely caught them.
I put the earrings on and looked at myself in the mirror. Alyssa had done my makeup already and I did my hair. I had been watching YouTube videos because I bought a curling wand and I wanted to know how to do my hair. Anyways, turns out I did a pretty good job. Those YouTube videos really helped.
A knock came from my balcony door. I turned to Alyssa and gave her a questioning look. She shrugged and gestured for me to go over to the door.
I walked over to the door. I picked up a book off one of my shelves. It was pretty heavy and I looked at it. Divergent. I opened the door and threw the book.
"Ouch! What the hell, Abby?!" Jake shouted.
He was on his knees grabbing his crotch, in pain. I kneeled down beside him. "I'm so sorry, Jake. I thought you were a robber or something." I helped him up and took him over to my bed.
"Abby, a robber wouldn't knock if he was going to steal something." He smirked.
Alyssa helped me place him on my bed and then went down to the kitchen to get some ice.
"Why didn't you come to the front door? You haven't used the balcony door in like forever." I asked him.
"I just thought I would just surprise you. Remember the first time I used the balcony door. I didn't want your parents to know I was here at 2 a.m." He laughed.
"Yeah. Your parents were fighting and you couldn't get any sleep so you came to my room." I remember it like it was yesterday.
Jake would always come to my house when his parents fought or had to work. He would knock on my balcony door, I'd get up and let him in, he'd get on the right side of the bed while I was on the left, and then we'd talk for hours until we both fell asleep.
"So why are you dressed up. Jordan coming to get you or something?" He asked.
"Um, no. I'm hanging out with Stephen tonight. It's not a date. We're just friends." I tell him.
Alyssa comes back in and tosses the ice pack towards Jake. He catches it and places the ice pack on his crotch. "She's lying. It's totally a date." Alyssa smiles.
I shoot a bird at her. "You're an idiot." I tell her.
We all sit around and talk for about half an hour. The door bell rung downstairs and I got up. I went downstairs along with Jake and Alyssa.
I opened the door and was met with Stephen. He was already smiling and his smile became wider when he saw me. He looked so good right now.
He had on a black snapback turned to the back, a black v neck on, and light wash jeans. He was looking me over while I was looking him over.
"Are you guys just going to stand there and eye rape each other?" Alyssa said, breaking me from my trance.
Stephen gave us a small laugh while I blushed like an idiot. He turned to me and smiled. "Are you ready to go?" He asked.
I nodded my head and turned around to face Jake and Alyssa. "You guys can let yourselves out. Don't forget to lock the door." I told them.
They both nodded their heads and pushed Stephen and me out the door. We walked over to his car and he opened the door for me. "Thank you." I smiled.
He jogged over to the drivers side and got in. "You look beautiful tonight." He smiled at me before turning on the car and leaving.
"So where are we going tonight?" I ask. He turns the radio down a little. "It's this new place that just opened that makes great Mexican food." He tells me.
I nod my head and look out the window. I wonder what Jordan is doing right now. Probably with some girl or hanging out with the guys. I can just picture him smirking right now.
I shake my head from the thoughts. I shouldn't be thinking about Jordan while I'm with Stephen.
We pull into the parking lot of the restaurant and he comes around to my side and opens the door for me. He grabs my hand and smiles at me.
"Shall we, Ms. Monroe." He winks. I laugh and we began to walk into the restaurant together.
It's a nice restaurant. They have a lot of business tonight and I'm guessing it's because they just opened. The smell in here automatically makes your mouth water and your stomach growl.
Our waitress came over to us and walked us over to our table. She took our drink order, which we both ordered Sprite, and then went off to get them.
We were both going over the menu. "What are you getting?" I asked him.
He looked up from his menu. "I think I'm going to get the Tacos De Pollo." He said, pronouncing pollo like polo.
I started laughing and he looked at me confused. "The two L's in pollo make a Y sound. It's pronounced like po-yo." I smile.
He laughs embarrassed. "As you can see I don't pay much attention in spanish. If it weren't for the description under here, I wouldn't know what I'm ordering." He said.
"Well, I'm pretty good at Spanish myself so if you need any help I'm your girl." I smile.
"You're my girl?" He questions with a smirk.
My cheeks heat up. "I didn't mean it like that. I meant..." He cuts me off and smiles.
"It's okay, Abby. I'm just teasing. Besides, I wouldn't mind you being my girl." He places his hand on top of mine and I blush even more.
The waitress comes back and takes our order. Stephen orders the Tacos De Pollo and I order the Fajitas De Pollo.
"So, coach Johnson is having softball tryouts a little earlier than usual. I told him he should keep an eye out for you." He tells me.
My eyes become wide. "You did not? Now I'm going to have to start practicing because you made me sound like I'm really good." I said.
"I don't doubt in my mind that you're good. We can work together. I'm trying out for baseball this year and we can go running and stuff to get in shape." He offers.
"Alright, that sounds good to me. When do you want to start?" I asked.
"How about never." I turn my head to see Jordan, Troy, Daniel, and Ryan. My eyes go wide and I'm surprised they're here.
"What are you guys doing here?" I whisper yell. Jordan pulls a chair from another table and puts it up to our table and sits down.
"We heard about this new restaurant being opened and we decided to come check it out. I saw you and Stephen here so I decided to come join you guys." Jordan smiled innocently.
"Go sit with your friends. We're hanging out alone." I tell him.
"Sounds more like a date to me," He turns to Stephen, "Are you two on a date?" He asked.
"It's none of your business if we are or if we aren't. I didn't ruin your hang out time with her yesterday so don't ruin mine." Stephen said.
"Well, if you two aren't on a date then what's one more friend added to this 'hanging out'." He puts quotations around hanging out.
The waitress came back with our food. "Oh, I didn't know you had another friend joining you. Can I take your order, sir?" She asked him.
"Neither did I." I muttered under my breath. I look over to Stephen and give him an apologetic look. He nods his head and shrugs.
Now I'm mad. Jordan is ruining our date on purpose. Just because he doesn't like Stephen doesn't mean he gets to ruin our date and yes, I'm admitting to it being a date. I like Stephen and he likes me.
The whole time we sit and eat in silence except for Jordan. Troy, Daniel, and Ryan are all sitting to a table next to us and Jordan is talking to them about the food and football. It's quite annoying really.
I get out my phone and shoot Stephen a text.
To that cute guy
I'm really sorry about tonight. I didn't know they were going to be here.
He digs in his front pocket and gets out his phone. He unlocks it and reads the message. He looks up at me and gives me a small smile. I know he's telling me it's alright, but it's not.
"Are you guys secretly texting? You know secrets don't make friends." Jordan says suddenly.
I give him a death glare. How I wish I could totally kill him right now. "Jordan, can I talk to you in private for a second?" I ask.
He nods his head and we walk to where the bathrooms are. When we get to the hallway of the bathroom, I turn around and scowl at Jordan.
"Why the long face, Midget?" He asks, as if he doesn't already know what's making me mad.
"You know why I'm upset, Jordan. I'm supposed to be spending this time alone with Stephen and you're ruining it for me." I say.
He raises an eyebrow. "Do you like him?" He steps closer and looks me in the eyes.
I gulp. "Maybe. It's none of your business if I do or not. So how about you and your friends leave us..." I'm cut off by his lips on my cheek.
I know it's just a cheek kiss, but it means so much more to me. His lips linger there longer than they need to before he pulls back. I touch the spot on my cheek where he kissed me. My cheek is tingling and I'm probably blushing.
"I'm sorry, Abby. I just got so jealous. I shouldn't have messed with you guys. I'm really sorry." He turns and walks away.
It takes a moment for me to recover and I run back over to the table we were at. Stephen and Troy are on the ground fighting. My eyes are wide and I see Ryan and Daniel trying to pull Stephen and Troy away from each other.
"We're gone for five minutes and a fight breaks out." Jordan says, coming up beside me.
I stare at him for a minute before I rush over to Stephen and Troy. "We need to take them outside before they call the cops!" I yell over the shouts of other people.
Jordan finally comes over and helps drag Troy out of the place. Stephen pushes Daniel off of him. "You and the rest of your friends better stay away from me or I swear I'll kill you." Stephen says.
I'm shocked. I've never seen this side of Stephen and it's scaring me. "Stephen, I didn't know he was going to say any of that. I would have stopped him. I'm sorry." Daniel apologizes.
Stephen shakes his head and throws some cash on the table. Right now wouldn't be a great time to argue about splitting the bill.
"You know exactly what he was going to do. All of you are assholes and I hope you guys drop dead. Let's go, Abby." Stephen walks off not even checking to see if I'm behind him.
I turn to Daniel. "What happened, Daniel?" I asked.
"It's a long story. You should get going." Daniel says, looking down.
"Daniel, I want you to come to my house after school. We need to talk." I don't wait for an answer because I run out of the place to find Stephen.
Troy and Jordan are yelling at each other and Ryan is making sure that Stephen doesn't try to attack Troy again.
"It was a dick move! If coach finds out about this he's going to have you bench three games!" Jordan yells.
"You're one to talk about being a dick! Have you ever questioned how many girls you slept with that has boyfriends! Have you even told Abby about how many girls you fucked!" Troy yells back.
I look away from them and walk over to Stephen. "I think we should go now." My voice is low.
He looks at me and the anger on his face turns into concern. "Alright. Let's go." He opens the door for me and I get in.
My eyes connect with Jordan's eyes and he's giving me an apologetic look. I really don't know how to feel about him sleeping around with girls. I mean, I already knew it, but he doesn't seem to be ashamed about it.
I look away and Stephen starts the car and heads to my house. The whole ride to my house is silent. Every now and then, Stephen will sneak glances at me.
He pulls into my driveway and as soon as he stops, I open the door to get out of the car. "Abby, wait." Stephen says.
I stop and get back in and close the door. I don't look at him, but look straight ahead. "I'm sorry about tonight, Abby. I should have kept my cool." He says.
"You don't think," I say sarcastically, "What happened between you two anyway?"
He leans his head back on the head rest and sighs. "It's a long story and I really don't like talking about it." He takes off his snapback and runs a hand through his hair.
"Nope! I'm tired of people telling me it's a long story! I'll sit out here and wait for you to finish. Everyone is keeping secrets from me and I'm tired of it." I snapped.
He looks scared of me for a moment before he clears his throat. "Alright, I'll tell you. I didn't want to tell you because I wanted you to find out about Jordan and his friends on your own, but I guess you deserve to know since you had to witness all of this tonight." He says.
I nod my head, letting him know he can start. He turns in his seat so that he can face me.
"Alright. Two years ago, believe it or not, Jordan, Troy, Daniel, Ryan, and I used to be friends. We used to hang out and everything. Of course, I wasn't friends with them as long as they had been with each other, but they still accepted me like we had been friends forever." He says.
"Anyways, do you remember a girl named Chloe Daniels?" He asked me.
I think about the name. Chloe. Chloe. "Oh, yeah. I remember her. She moved like two years ago didn't she?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'll tell you why in a minute. Anyways, I was dating her. We had been dating since middle school and I was madly in love with her. We were so in love that we started planning our future together. I had introduced her to the guys because they were my friends and I wanted them to meet Chloe. They immediately all became friends with her. I should have noticed it, but I didn't. One night, we all went to a party. Troy and Chloe disappeared. I just thought that Troy was hooking up with some girl and Chloe was hanging out with her friends." He pauses taking a deep breath.
"He was hooking up with a girl. He was hooking up with Chloe. They had been doing it for months and I never knew. I felt stupid and I was hurt." He looked down.
"How did you find out?" I asked. My heart was breaking for him. It was so wrong and I couldn't believe Troy would do something like that.
He lets out a sad laugh. "That asshole went to school the next day showing all the guys on the football team messages between him and her and pictures she had sent him. Not just selfie pictures. Pictures of her laid on her bed naked." His fist are clenched and his jaw is clenched tight together.
"I was so hurt. The girl that I had been dating for four years had cheated on me with a guy I considered my friend. I was also pissed. I wasn't just mad at Troy, but Jordan, Daniel, and Ryan. They knew he was doing that fucked up shit and they didn't even tell me. They let me look like a fool. Chloe was so embarrassed. Guys kept coming up to her asking her to send naked pics to them and girls kept calling her a slut and saying that she was loving the crew. It was bad for her. She was so upset that she moved." He said.
I remember this story. I remember Matt coming home one day telling me about it, but I didn't know the people he was talking about. I felt really bad for him now.
"She didn't even apologize to me. She was so ashamed that she couldn't even look at me anymore. Troy never apologized either. In fact, I don't think he was even the slightest bit guilty. None of them apologized to me. Tonight was the first night I heard an apology from one of them and that was Daniel. I never thought I could hate someone so much, but I hate all of them. I haven't been the same since what happened." He tells me.
I can see the pain in his eyes and I wish I could take it away. I was suddenly filled with rage. I was so angry at Troy, Jordan, Daniel and Ryan. If I were to see Jordan right now, I will punch him in the face. No, in the balls so he can't have kids.
I grab Stephen's hands and he looks up at me. I can tell that he's holding back those tears. Yup, I just used a one direction lyric. Not now Abby.
"Stephen, I'm so sorry that that happened to you. I wish I could take the pain away from you because you're a good guy. Chloe doesn't deserve a guy like you and the guys don't deserve a friend like you. You're amazing and I wish I would have met you before this year and maybe I could have helped you with all that pain and hatred that you feel. I think you should let it go. I'm not saying forgive them, but let it go. It's not worth it. You'll never learn to love again if you keep holding on to what they did. It's obvious that they don't care and have already moved on. You should do the same." I tell him.
He gives me a small smile and laughs a little. "You know, you're right. You might think I'm an asshole for this, but when I first met you the only reason why I hung around you was because you reminded me of Chloe, but you're much different from her. You're better than her. I started finding myself daydreaming about you and always wanting to be around you. I really like you Abby and I wish I would have met you before this year." He smiles at me.
He leans forward and my eyes go wide. He's going to kiss me. I've never been kissed before. Our lips connected and my eyes narrowed on his lips. He laughs against my lips and pulls away from me. I'm blushing because I'm embarrassed at my lack of experience.
He grabs my hand and intertwins our fingers. "Abby, relax. Was that your first kiss?" He asked.
I nod my head not really trusting my voice right now. "Hey, listen, I'm not laughing at your lack of experience. How about we try it again and this time, relax and close your eyes. Your body will take over for you." He says.
I nod my head before I close my eyes. I can feel him getting closer to me. I can feel his breath on my lips. His lips brush up against mine, but they don't touch. He's teasing me. I can't wait any longer so I lean forward and our lips connect.
He was right. Your body will take control for you. Our lips start to move together in sync and my hands go to the snapback on his head. I push the hat off so that I can play in his hair. He laughs a little against my lips causing me to smile myself.
One of his hands are on the back of my dress where there is no fabric covering the skin there, causing goose bumps to form all over me from his touch. The other hand is at the back of my neck pulling me closer to him.
His lips are so soft and gentle. I tug at roots of his hair and he let's out a groan causing my ladies parts to tingle. I'm running out of oxygen and I think he is too because he pulls back.
We're both panting like dogs and our foreheads are rested against each others. "Wow, I don't think I've ever been kissed like that." He says.
"Me either." I say. He looks me in the eyes and places a hand on my cheek, bringing our lips back together. This kiss is more gentle.
A knock on his car window breaks us apart. My dad is standing there, looking at us. My eyes go wide and so does Stephen's.
My dad gestures for us to roll down the window and Stephen does. "Abby, I think that it's time that you tell your company good night." My father says in a stern voice.
"Alright, can I just have a few minutes with Stephen? I need to talk to him about something." I ask him.
My dad looks from me to Stephen then back to me. "Make it quick and I'm not going back inside until you're in the house." He says, walking away from the car to go sit on the steps in front of our house.
"I have a lot to say to you, but my dad is giving us a time limit. So, go down the street, park your car, walk back up here, then go around to my backyard, climb up the ladder to my balcony, and I'll sneak you into my room." I tell him.
"Why, Abby? On the first date. What kind of guy do you take me for?" He teases.
I hit him playfully. "Shut up. I didn't mean it like that. I'll see you in a bit." I smile at him before getting out the car.
I ignore the stare my dad is giving me as I walk into the house. Mom is in the kitchen drinking tea and on her computer, probably looking at pictures she took today.
I grab a bottle of water and start to drink it. "Parched from your make out session?" My dad asked.
My mom looks up fast at the both of us. "Dad, it was just a kiss. People usually do that after a date." I tell him.
"You said you were going to go hang out with a friend. Friends don't kiss." My dad said.
"Dad, we left as friends. We really did, but then we realized we wanted something more than just friends." I say.
He starts pacing around the kitchen. "Just wait until Matt hears about this." He says.
"John, calm down. She's not a little girl anymore. Eventually she was going to start dating. Most girls start way earlier than this." My mom says.
Thank God my mom is much more reasonable. Dad tends to make things more than what they really are.
"She's not like other girls." My dad points out.
"May I be excused. I'm very tired and would like to get some sleep. I have school tomorrow." I say.
"Yes," My mom says at the same time my dad says, "No."
My mom gives dad one of those 'Do not try me in front of our daughter' looks and my dad nods his head towards the stairs letting me know I can go. I smirk at him before running up stairs to my room.
When I'm in my room, I lock the door and make my way to the balcony door. I open it and Stephen is leaning up against the door frame looking like a greek god.
I pull him into my room and press a light kiss to his lips. He laughs at me before kissing me back. We pull apart and look into each other's eyes. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me close to him.
I'm up against his body and my heart is hammering at how close we are. He's biting his lips that are pink and inviting, but the whole reason I snuck him in was for us to talk.
"We need to talk." I whisper. He nods his head and pulls me toward my bed. He seems more comfortable than I am and it's my room.
"What do you want to talk about?" He asked, pushing some of my hair behind my ears and glancing from eyes to my lips.
Focus Abby. "Are we dating now?" I asked. He seems to be thinking about my question. He's going to say he doesn't want to date me and that it was fun while it lasted.
"Only if you want to be my girlfriend. I know I'm probably not worthy of a girl like you, but I really like you Abby. I love the way you turn red as a tomato when you blush. I love the way your long blonde hair falls down your back. I love the way your blue eyes trap me and pull me into trance. I love how you're shy at times, but at the same time you're not. I love the way you're so passionate about everything. So if you want to be my girlfriend that would really make me happy." He says.
I'm shocked by what he just said. He thinks he's not worthy of me? Alright. Where are the cameras? Jake come on out. I know you're getting me back for that time I dropped your tooth brush into the toilet and didn't tell you about it until you got strep throat and had to stay home for a week from school.
"Abby, say something because you're making me really nervous." He says, looking at me with worried eyes.
"I would love to be your girlfriend." I smiled. Relief washes over his face before a huge grin breaks out on his face.
He closes the distance between us and connects our lips again. His lips are addicting and I don't know how I'm going to keep myself from wanting to kiss him all the time.
I pull away first. "Stephen, is it okay if we take things slow? Not just for me, but for you too." I say.
He nods his head. "Yeah, anything you want. It's probably best if we don't rush things." He smiles.
I nod my head and smile. "You should get going. We have school tomorrow." I say.
"Right." He smiles. We get up together holding hands and I walk him out onto the balcony.
"Good night, Abby." Stephen says before placing a kiss on my lips.
When he pulls back, I wrap my arms around him and hug him. "Good night, Stephen." I say.
We kiss for another three minutes before he climbs down the ladder that is attached to the balcony. I don't know why they built it like that. They're basically saying 'Hey, come rob me' or 'I sneak my girlfriend/boyfriend in my room all the time'.
I close the balcony doors and lock them. I run over to my bed and jump on it. I have a boyfriend. I had my first kiss tonight. I'm dating one of the hottest guys in the school. Life doesn't get better than this does it?
I still can't believe what Stephen told me tonight. I was mad. Mad at Jordan for not telling me, but then again, he never tells me anything. Friends don't keep secrets from each other. He constantly says how he wants to be friends, but he doesn't want me to know anything about him. As of right now, Jordan Collins and I are no longer friends.

Stephen on the banner. So I really enjoyed writing this chapter. You find out why Stephen hates the guys so much, but it's more to come after that.
If you're ever wondering my chapters are about 3,000 to about 5,500 words long. I try to keep it somewhere in the 4,000s because I don't want my chapters to be too long or not long enough.
Also want to dedicate this chapter to little_hazel_one for sending me a very sweet message on here. I'm glad that you think I'm an awesome writer because I think you're an awesome person.
Don't forget to vote and comment what you think. I'll try to update every Tuesday, but sometimes I might update twice a week so just be on the look out. Until next chapter.
