The end-of-semester ceremony went off without a hitch.
The report cards were handed out, and I left the classroom in an uproar.
Just as I was about to leave, my cell phone rang.
âItâs rare for you to call me.â
I said to the person on the other end of the line.
The screaming and shouting was replaced by joy at the prospect of the summer vacation.
âIs Kurusu-san there?â
It was Eda on the other end of the line.
It was a typical Eda call, as she simply told me what she needed.
âEh?â
When I looked back at the classroom, Mia was surrounded by many of her friends.
âIâm in the classroomâ¦â
âRight. Then will you come with her to the student council room?â
âDo you need me too?â
âOtherwise, I would have called Kurusu-san directly.â
Sheâs right.
It does not seem to be an urgent matter.
After a while, when the area around Mia had become quite empty, I went back into the classroom.
I immediately made eye contact with Mia. Without making a sound, I told her that I needed to see her.
âIâm sorry, I have to go.â
Mia told her friend and got out of her seat.
At the same time, I left the classroom again.
I heard the sound of Miaâs footsteps chasing after me from behind.
âWhat?â
âEda wants us to go to the student council room.â
âMe too?â
We climbed the stairs and headed for the student council room.
Because of the eyes around us, we kept our conversation to a minimum.
She is not afraid to talk to me in school. I, on the other hand, am. I still canât walk around the school shoulder to shoulder with Mia Kurusu, the perfect girl.
Todayâs Mia was just as beautiful as always.
She drew the attention of almost every student who passed her.
She wore her long chestnut hair in a ponytail and her uniform was neatly worn. Two thin legs stretched out from her skirt, which was neither too long nor too short.
Her breasts swelled like a combination of both purity and eroticism. They were large, but in Miaâs eyes, they were not indecent.
âYouâre late.â
Eda looked up as she entered the student council room.
She seemed to be in the middle of some kind of work with her laptop in front of her.
Today, Eda was looking dignified, and the position of student council president suited her well.
Event though she wears her heavy-duty glasses, her good looks are hard to hide.
âI donât think there was a student council meeting todayâ¦â
Mia said to Eda, without attempting to enter the student council room.
âThere isnât. If there was one, I wouldnât have called the simpleton next to you.â
Iâm your boyfriend, though.
âWhat do you want?â
Itâs not that the two of them are bickering with each other.
But when they meet each other, they inevitably create a tense atmosphere.
âLetâs go to the outlet mall.â
âEh?â
I was surprised, but Mia seemed to be more surprised than me.
After a moment of silence, Eda closed her laptop.
âLetâs go buy a ring.â
âAhâ¦.â
I was worried.
Mia, Mikoto and Shirota are wearing matching rings.
I have the same ring, and I still wear it around my neck.
The new girlfriends, Eda and Rino, donât have them yet.
âHey, Eda-san.â
âWhat is it, Kurusu-san?â
The air was tense again.
But the two of them had no intention of improving this atmosphere.
The two of them being friendly would be weird to me, but I think they should try to be a little more approachable.
âWhy did you ask me out too?â
âIs it wrong?â
âI donât think itâs wrong, but if you want to buy a ring, why donât you and Koumei go together?â
Yes, thatâs true.
Itâs not like Mia and I had promised to go home together.
As for me, if Eda had asked me to get a ring with her, I would have agreed.
Itâs not a shame to go together.
And yet, Eda went to the trouble of inviting Mia as well.
âIf you donât want to go, I and Okutani-kun will go alone.â
âI didnât say I didnât want to go, did I?â
âI invited the others, but they refused.â
I could see the slightest hint of emotion in Edaâs words.
âYotsuba has club activities, Mikoto-san has classesâ¦. I donât know Rino-sanâs contact information.â
Apparently, she had invited her best friend and henchman before she invited Mia.
Hearing this, Mia gave a subtle smile.
âIt would be unreasonable not to ask Kurusu-san out, wouldnât it?â
âEda-san is cute, isnât she?â
âWhat!?â
Eda bit her lip at the expression on Miaâs face as she giggled.
Eda turned away as if she was trying not to be seen through something.
I had a feeling I understood.
To put it simply, Eda wants to get along with everyone.
She was also grumpy when she got kicked out of the harem, and at the meeting she suggested an overnight trip.
And today, she was going to invite everyone to go buy matching rings.
âIâll go with you.â
âItâs okayâ¦.Iâm not going to force you to go with me.â
âI understand. Then Iâm not going.â
âAhâ¦â
Suddenly, Eda looks at Mia.
There was even a subtle hint of sadness in her expression.
Apparently, Mia was better this time.
âI lied. Letâs go together, Eda-san. Oh, can I call you Fukiko?â
âWa, eh? What was that? Why?â
I couldnât help but laugh at Edaâs confused look.
After looking at my face, Eda turned her attention back to Mia.
She didnât know what to say, so she stuttered.
I knew I was meddling, but I offered a helping hand.
âHey, you should call her Mia, too.â
âI like that!â
Mia immediately agreed to my suggestion.
âI donât knowâ¦.Can I call you Fumiko?â
âAh, eh? W, wellâ¦.â
Edaâs shrug is also valuable.
âO, okayâ¦.â
âThen itâs decided! Fumiko, please call me Mia.â
She answered with her best smile.
It was as if she had gained a valuable friend who could take off her mask in front and face her.
Eda looked at me. She blushed a little and told me.
âMy ringâ¦. Weâll buy it right?â
I thought Eda was a little bit cute.
