I felt a new power course through me, so I allowed it control. I am glad that I trusted it because it looks like Mara will find a mate. Based on her surprised expression, Ravens arenât born but created so they donât ever have a mate. I donât understand how this is possible, but then again I donât understand how anything in my life is possible. I have multiple mates, a unique dragon, performed magic when I summoned a mirror, and I just killed Heidi. I wonder if I will ever understand.
After summoning their coins from Jessica and Lenore, Samael and Donn both approached me. âThey each made a wish, but those wishes are quite similar so you might want to toss both coins into the fountain,â Donn says.
Why not? They both killed me together so they might as well suffer and die together too. I toss both coins into the fountain and as all of their memories are on display for all to see, Donn and Samael told me what their wishes were. A sadistic smirk dawned my lips as I felt that power rise. âYou both wished for power and to be Queen not so that you could better the kingdom but so you could bully those under you. Jessica, you once told me that I need to learn my place. Well prepare to meet yours!â I spat and turned to Lenore, âYou, Lenore, told me to never touch what was yours.
You never had a right to claim Clint, so now you will know what it feels like to be claimed!â

Who fucking gave Avery the right to decide fate? Ravens were extinct, because Corra said so. She promised that if we secured Naga and two other tribes that she would kill any who challenged our rule. Avery was a threat to that rule and why she made sure that potion would kill any dragon. But Avery and Cassius didnât die; instead, flanked by Ravens, they stand before me very much in love and very much alive. Fuck you, Corra! You are a lying bitch!
âDonât just see, feel,â Avery sneered. After she said that, I saw myself in the human world holding the hand of a man. As we crossed a street, a car came out of nowhere and struck us. I felt my bones break. As I gasped for air, I reached toward the bloody man beside me. Cassius stepped out of the car. He squatted down and said, âPayback for trying to take my mate from me. Now I will take yours!â I watched helplessly as he broke the manâs neck. I saw a tiny dragon emerge before Cassius lifted up his foot and squashed my mate like a bug. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I watched Cassius drive away.
My heart was breaking at the loss of what could have been. I could have had a mate and a future had I not been so stupid to believe that Corra could give me it all. I should have trusted The Goddess and her design and not some demonic bitch! The vision shifted to show me alone living under a bridge. I was old and filthy. Any beauty that I once had was replaced by grotesque rotten teeth, rat-infested hair, and rags for clothing. My skin was covered in moles and wrinkles. I looked like a bag out of Grimmâs Fairytales. I screamed as pain sourced through me. My bones began to break and protrude through my skin. My dragon was dying and soon I would too.

Asher puffed contentedly inside of me as we watched Jessicaâs fate. I gave Avery a kiss from both of us as I saw myself in that vision. It is true that I would defy any rule for Avery. Had the Hags not just killed us earlier tonight, I would have eventually made them all pay for that night of the football game where they strung my little mate up like a lamb ready for slaughter.
Lamb? I chuckle at referring Avery to that because she might still be sexually inexperienced but she is no lamb inside or outside of the bedroom. If anything, my cunning mate is a wolf in sheepâs clothing. Everyone overlooked and underestimated her...everyone but Draven who is looking on with admiration and gratitude.
We all should look at Avery as Draven does after tonight. However, my brothers and I can look upon her in a different light. We are fortunate enough to be her mates and her future husbands. However, Tim telling us about his cousin worries me.
Yes, we have already marked and bonded with Avery, but what happens if he is able to challenge my brothers and me? Worse yet, what happens if he wins?
As we listen to Jessica beg to be sparred, Avery exits my embrace and wraps her arms around Clint. She gives him a kiss on the cheek. âLenore, you were perhaps even worse than Heidi and Jessica. You tried everything you could to make a man be yours that never could be. Now you will both see and feel what that choice would have gotten you.â

I had been in meetings with other tribes all day when I should have been out trying to track my mate. Tim constantly avoided some duties as Beta, but he rarely avoided important meetings as these, so I was surprised to find him absent. I was even more surprised when my dragon, Typhon, alerted me that Timâs dragon was in danger. Had his dragon not called for help, we would have never noticed that he was in Naga.
Ty tried to give some of our life force to heal him, but we felt him slipping away. As we were prepared to mourn the loss of our own, my mate and her dragon walked up. Ever since Ty lost track of our mate five years ago, I have made sure that my consciousness traveled with him because I donât want to risk missing any clues that could lead us to our mate. Avery and her dragon healed Timâs dragon as Ty and I made sure to be able to track her from now on. We gifted them a bit of our life force for a couple of reasons. One, it ensured that we could track her. But more importantly because she needed the boost. Once Timâs dragon was healed, we shot our flame into the air signally that one of our own has been reborn. Now all dragons will soon know that the King Of Kings found his Queen! After Tim hung up, I rushed out of my office and began to ready the kingdom for her arrival.
