"That lady definitely did not look pleased," Alex giggled as she walked along the familiar street with Sam.
Sam shook his head with a smile on his face, "I didn't mean to say it out loud! But her pants were really ugly!"
Alex laughed, "They were. Pink and purple polka dots really aren't a good look,"
"See! You're just as bad as me!" Sam protested, looking down at the girl beside him who's eyes seemed to glow a copper color under the street lamps.
Bravely, Alex slipped her hand into Sam's and linked their fingers together. "I guess I am." Sam was slightly shocked at the bold move but didn't protest.
It came to their attention that they were walking past their favorite park where their favorite stray pup lived.
Sam looked down at the beautiful girl beside him, "Do you want to pay Bud a visit?"
Alex nodded almost immediately, not able to verbally answer as she looked up at the handsome boy smiling down at her so sweetly.
They walked into the park hand-in-hand and made their way over to the old, battered park bench. They sat down, Sam on the left and Alex on the right. They were closer than usual. They caught sight of the small pup with a cream-colored coat running towards them before he jumped up and wiggled his way between them.
Sam and Alex looked at each other over the top of the pup, both with smiles on their faces. They both stopped when their eyes connected. Slowly, they began moving closer. Sam placed a hand under Alex's chin while her hand went to his neck. Their lips connected in a brief kiss that sent fireworks through both their bodies. They were soon interrupted when the little stray pup started licking their cheeks. The two broke away with a laugh, looking down at the dog who had brought them together in the first place.
