Chapter 46: Boss Wants You in the Car

“By the way, Isabella, I still have several cars in my garage. We were sisters after all. If you beg me nicely, I might be soft–hearted enough to give you one.”

Charlotte wasn’t about to miss this

chance to thoroughly mock Isabella.

Isabella didn’t want to acknowledge her, but she never expected Charlotte to intensify her taunts. Eyes flashing, she turned to the

person in the car.

“The Sterlings may not be what they once were, but my ten percent of shares can still easily buy a few sports cars. Charlotte, you should worry about yourself. If people find

out you lost the Sterling shares to

Charlotte’s face changed. She had been keeping this matter tightly under wraps at home these past few days. If Father found out, he would

be furious.

Moreover, if word of this got out, that she had so easily “given” Sterling

shares to someone else, it would only make others think Sterling stock was worthless. Then those shareholders. with Sterling stock might dump their shares en masse, and the Sterlings

would truly be beyond saving.

Even if it was only ten percent, for a large corporation, it was no small

amount.

Just as Charlotte was about to retort, she saw a car stop up ahead. If she hadn’t braked in time, she would

have rear–ended it.

upon seeing the familiar car logo and plate, the words died in her

throat.

Isabella’s gaze was likewise drawn over. The next second, the door of

the Maybach in front opened and Sebastian stepped out.

“Ms. Sterling, the boss wants you in

the car.”

“I’m not going!”

Although Charlotte’s mockery had Isabella seething, she had no desire to see Alexander’s unpleasant face.

“The boss said if you don’t get in,

he’ll have you sleep in the same room as Earl tonight.”

Before Isabella could react,

Charlotte’s face had turned ashen. So

after leaving the Sterlings, Isabella had gone to the Windsors. Now with

Alexander inviting her into his car, it

seemed their relationship was rather unusual.

She knew Earl was the leopard Alexander kept. The first time she visited the Windsors, that leopard had nearly scared the wits out of her.

Alexander?!

At this thought, Charlotte was ready to explode with anger.

Why did Alexander keep protecting this wild girl the Sterlings had kicked

out?

The image of Earl’s glossy black face

also flashed through Isabella’s mind,

instantly giving her goosebumps. Although the big fella hadn’t harmed

choice but to get in the car with

Sebastian.

A string of cars had already piled up behind them. Some people even

stuck their heads out, ready to spew insults. But upon seeing the

Maybach parked in front, they

swallowed their words.

In the car, Alexander still sat with his

eyes closed.

“Pick a car from the garage

tomorrow. Don’t embarrass me.”

Embarrass him?

Isabella’s fists instantly clenched.

Now he had the gall to say she embarrassed him?

The more Isabella thought about it, the angrier she got. By the time she

came back to her senses, the car had already stopped at the base of the Ascot Group tower.

This was a landmark building in Riverdale, personally designed by Alexander. Due to Ascot Group’s

wide–ranging business, the huge tower was filled with Ascot

employees, and this was just a portion. Ascot’s subsidiaries and

branches were spread all over the

world.

Alexander’s office was on the top

floor, with an elevator going directly

there. As Alexander stepped into the

elevator, Isabella was about to follow,

but remembering how her nose had nearly been smashed by the car

door, she slunk back out.

The employee elevator was right next to it. It was currently rush hour and quite a few employees had witnessed this scene. Some had

already begun whispering amongst

themselves.

“Who’s that woman? The nerve of

her, trying to take the same elevator

as the boss. Shameless.”

“Looks like she just graduated

college. Probably a new junior

employee who doesn’t know her

place, trying to get close to the boss.”

Although they kept their voices low, Isabella heard them clearly.

She was about to explain when

Alexander’s voice drifted out from

the elevator.

“Get in.”

Isabella was stunned for a moment.

Glancing at Alexander’s impatient face, she had no choice but to follow

him in.

The people outside were instantly dumbfounded. That woman really did get into the boss’s elevator, and at his personal invitation no less.

Everyone began speculating about Isabella’s identity, but no one knew.

Although she was the Sterlings‘ adopted daughter, compared to the high–profile Charlotte, she had almost no presence and never appeared in the public eye.

When the Sterlings first adopted her,

The elevator stopped at the top floor. Alexander stepped out first, with

the desk.

Ascot Group’s executives were top management talent headhunted from all over the world, so

Alexander rarely needed to sign off on ordinary business. The contracts that reached his desk were usually

worth billions each.

Alexander casually flipped one open, gave it a cursory glance, and signed.

Isabella stood beside him the entire

Until Alexander randomly pushed his coffee cup in front of her. She

For the sake of her sabotage plan,

she had to endure it!

Picking up the cup, she stalked out of the office, fuming. A crowd of

curious female employees had already gathered outside. Isabella going upstairs with the boss had been strange enough, but now this person was taking the boss’s coffee cup out, making them even more

You had to know, Alexander never had a female secretary before. Even pouring coffee was done personally by Sebastian.

To avoid giving the man inside an excuse to nitpick, Isabella brewed the coffee with nimble hands. Just as she

was about to go back in, a woman blocked her path.

Isabella’s gaze slowly traveled up, taking in the sexy crop top that

showed off a slender waist. Going

higher, Isabella’s eyes nearly bugged

out.

As a woman herself, she couldn’t help but swallow.

At Ascot Group, employees didn’t

have to wear formal attire. In fact,
