Chapter 7: Why Wound She Aid Him?
Chapter 7: Why Would She Aid Him?
Isabella was oblivious to the upheaval
outside. After her brief encounter with
Earl, she had let her guard down entirely, leaning against the big fellow and beginning to rest for a short while.
It wasnât until a chill swept over her from behind that she couldnât help but shiver, turning around to Alexander standing at the door with a cold expression.
âMay I leave now?â
Alexanderâs scrutinizing gaze fixed on Isabella, and he had to admit, she was
one of the few individuals he couldnât
see through.
From her panicked eyes, he could sense the hostility that lay hidden beneath. But if that was the case, why would she help him?

today, he now reneged!
Unknown to Isabella, the Ascot Groupâs
European branch had encountered
issues the previous night, prompting
Alexander and Sebastian to take a night flight abroad.
The villa was staffed with numerous
servants, yet without explicit
instructions from Alexander before his
departure, they dared not unlock the
door for Isabella.
By the time the overseas matters were resolved, Isabella had slipped Alexanderâs mind. When he finally remembered, two days had passed.
Upon returning to Wisteria Hall, the moment the guest room door was opened, Alexander found Isabella shumped on the floor beside the bed.
Long subjected to the Sterlingsâ harsh treatment, her already frail body, compounded by two days without

After a night fraught with tension, Isabella woke up early the next morning and immediately went to the door, tentatively knocking. But there was no response from outside.
Damn, that scoundrel Alexander
couldnât possibly intend to starve her in this room, could he?! With this
thought, her knocks grew more forceful.
âAlexander, let me out!â
No matter how much she yelled, there was no acknowledgment. Her voice grew hoarse, and she slumped against the door in defeat.
Alexander was reputed to be ruthless, and now it seemed he was nothing short of a villainâa man who silently imprisoned her, what else could this be? Despite promises to send her back

instructed emotionlessly before
leaving.
Almost simultaneously, two burly bodyguards appeared at the door, seemingly to prevent her from
escaping.
Bangâ
With a thud, Isabella slammed the door shut, her way of venting the frustration simmering within her.
She walked over to the window.
Situated on the second floor, directly overlooking the swimming pool below, she mused that a leap from here, while not dangerous, would undoubtedly create enough commotion to alert Alexander or the bodyguards.
Aside from this window, there
appeared no other avenue for escape.
It seemed she was indeed bound to
stay the night.
If that scoundrel Alexander dared to

Naturally, Isabella was unaware of Alexanderâs thoughts. Meeting his profound gaze, seeing the
undercurrents swirling within, she
frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly,
unsure what this odd man was
planning to do to her next.
âMr. Alexander⦠I truly know
nothingâ¦â

Before she could finish, Alexander cut
in coldly, âTake a rest. Someone will escort you back in the morning.â
Isabella was stunned. Had her attempt at playing the damsel in distress actually worked?
She was taken to a guest room on the second floor. It was clear that no one had stayed here before; everything in the room was brand new, the roo

A flicker of emotion crossed Alexanderâs eyes as he strode forward, his long legs closing the distance. His hand reached out towards Isabellaâs
shoulder, hesitating the next second.
âAlexander, you bastard, Iâm going to castrate youâ¦â
