Anhay sat on his seat and the priest was chanting mantras.
Meanwhile, the Sharma's were ready to perform the padla ritual. The entire family came out holding gifts for the bride. They're holding chocolates, dry fruits, dresses along with accessories, makeup kit , footwear and many kinds of jewellery. They were holding this stuff in a mini train toy.
Anhay laughed seeing the toy train and looked around but Kriva wasn't there.
Anhay:- if she was here she could have started jumping.
Soon the priest asked Mr. Kashyap to call the bride.
Soon they heard background music change into din shagna da.
He smiled seeing her in the royal chariot.
Anhay:- she is looking like a royal queen.
He stood up to welcome her. And she was staring at him only. A little distance later they stopped the chariot and Ruhaan helped her to climb down. Ruhaan held her hands and she walked on the wedding aisle with her brother. Soon Ruhaan gave her hand in Anhay's hands and whispered, now she is your responsibility, take care of my princess.
Anhay:- she is my world and I'm not that brave to break my own world.
Ruhaan smiled and went from there.
Anhay and Kriva sat on their chair and Anhay didn't leave her hand in this wedding process. A priest called kriva's parents for Kanyadaan.
Kanyadaan
Like in most Hindu weddings, a Gujarati wedding too follows a Kanyadaan tradition where the father of the bride gives away his daughter to the groom. He first washes the groom's feet and, with folded hands, asks him to take care of his daughter, entrusting her responsibility to the groom.
Anhay:- Papa relax, she is safe with me.
Priest:- please do hasta milap now.
Hasta Milap
The wedding priest ties the holy knot by joining the groom's shawl and the bride's saree, symbolising the unification of two souls. He also places both hands together and chants holy mantras. All family members and relatives bless the couple by throwing rice grains and rose petals on them.
For Mangal phera the bride took 3 time leads and at last the groom took the lead.
Priest:- this is common for every cast but as per your religion you will take 8 rounds. Four are completed and in the next four rounds the groom will pick the bride in his arms.
Anhay immediately picked Kriva in bridal style and they started taking vows.
The final three steps in a Gujarati wedding are as follows: First, the groom applies vermillion (sindoor) to the bride's hair mid-parting. This marks the bride's first symbol as a married woman. He then ties the holy Mangalsutra around the bride's neck. Finally, the newly married couple feeds sweets to each other, which is known as the Kansar at the end of the wedding ceremony.
The wedding ceremony comes to an end with the newlyweds touching their elders'feet and seeking their blessings.
Saubhagyavati Bhava ritual:-
Seven married women are invited to bless the just-married couple. When the couple seeks their blessings, each woman utters the phrase "Saubhagyavati Bhava" to the bride, which means "may your marital life flourish with eternal glory.".
Kriva smiled hearing their kind words.
Chero Pakadyo
In a rather funny Gujarati wedding ritual, the groom catches the pallu of his mother-in-law's saree and asks for more gifts! Everyone then fills up her saree pallu with cash and gifts, which are later presented to the groom's family.
Anhay:- Mumma, I want gifts.
Nidhi:- what does my son want?
Anhay:- umm little more love from your side.
Nidhi giggled and nodded. But she tied a chain around his neck as per giving a gift according to custom.
Aariv:- bro let's have our dinner now.
Anhay nodded and helped Kriva with her dress and he started feeding her dinner.
Anhay:- Now let's complete the bidaai ritual.
They laughed seeing his excitement.
Avni:- she is yours only.
Anhay:- I have no doubt in that case.
Avni:- I can't be with this boy.
Soon they perform vidaai or bidaai rituals.
Kriva started crying looking at her family and Anhay frowned seeing her crying this badly.
Anhay:- it's not like you never stayed away from them.
Raj:- shut up Anny.
Ruhaan hugged Kriva and made her calm, then he opened the door for them to sit.
Anhay helped her to sit and then sat beside her.
She looked at him and smiled tiredly.
He made her sit on his lap and patted her back.
Anhay:- sleep love I'll wake you up after we reach our place. Mom said they will perform every ritual in our home so you can sleep.
Kriva nodded and slept resting her head on his chest.
Anhay:- finally we are officially together.
After 2 years:-
Anhay:- Baby where are you??
He came inside the room but couldn't find her but heard some noise in the bathroom so thought to check in.
Anhay:- princess are you okay? I'm coming inside okay?
He opened the door and found her vomiting.
He immediately rushed towards her and started rubbing her back. She looked at him tiredly and rested her head on his shoulder.
He immediately picked her up and placed her on bed.
Anhay:- baby are you okay? Let me call the doctor.
Kriva:- Anny i hate this feeling. I'm feeling tired even when I wake up after taking a nap. I just hate a few smells and I just don't like this headache.
Anhay:- princess calm down baby. Let Anny call the doctor. I thought you must be suffering from period cramps.
Kriva:- but I still didn't get my periods.
Anhay widened his eyes and looked at her, who was looking at him innocently.
Anhay:- what if you are pregnant?
Kriva:- pr.. pregnant??? Me? You mean the baby will be here? Pointing towards her tummy.
Anhay:- Aish princess, relax no need to get hyper. It's alright you are fine. Let the doctor come and then we will decide what we have to do.
Kriva:- hmm. Mom and dad are enjoying their trip. We will tell them after confirmation.
Anhay nodded and kissed her forehead.
Soon the doctor came and told Anhay to wait outside.
Doctor:- Mrs. Sharma i request you to try this pregnancy test. And we will take your blood test as well.
She told Kriva how to use the pregnancy confirmation test and she did as she said. After waiting for a few minutes the result showed positive, making her smile.
Doctor:- congratulations Mrs. Sharma and let me take your blood test. She wasn't ready to give her blood so the doctor called Anhay to help her.
Anhay held Kriva in her arms and the doctor took her blood. Making her cry in his embrace.
Anhay:- it's okay, it's finished. She slapped his chest angrily and turned face to the other side. He smiled seeing her and whispered I thought I'd buy chocolate ice-cream but I guess no one wants ice cream.
She immediately pecked his lips and hugged him tightly.
Kriva:- my ice cream?
Anhay called one of his bodyguards and ordered him to get ice cream.
Kriva:- Anhay I'm pregnant and i don't know how I will handle this baby i mean i never held a baby before.
Anhay:- love you will be the best mother to our baby. I know my baby well.
He kissed her forehead and then her tummy. He softly caressed her tummy with a small smile.
Kriva:- our boy will be the happiest gift for us.
Anhay:- how about girl?
Kriva:- my parents never had a boy child. At least I deserve a baby boy.
Anhay:- I deserve a daughter too. Okay fine we won't think about gender right now but we will pray for a healthy child.
Kriva nodded and snuggled in his chest.
Anhay:- But princess, we will set our boundaries first. Okay? Rule no one no fight. Rule no two, you will not jump here and there and also you will follow the diet I'll give you.
She made a sad face and nodded.
Anhay:- Do you want to share this news with Ruhaan Jiju?
Kriva:- I'm not sure I mean he lost his baby and I don't know how I will say brother I'm pregnant when he is suffering each day in memory of his unborn child.
Anhay:- I know I'll share this news with him making sure that he is fine with this news.
She nodded and he kissed her forehead.
Anhay:- I love both of you.
Kriva:- we love you too.
