Tobago: The Crescent Wolf Pack

Emma POV

The ocean's floor shook with each attack. Dark tornadoes of water brushed past me as I barely dodged them, some too close for comfort. This is not good. The creature had the upper hand. The best I could do right now is run from its attacks. That needs to change. If I want to kill this thing I need to get us out of the water. I was too caught up thinking of a plan I didn't notice the tendrils of dark water creeping up behind me.

Catching me by surprise it wrapped around my legs crawling up and around my body. It was everywhere, bidding my arms and legs together also wrapping around my stomach. Desperately I started spells to cut them off but it was useless, just as fast as they were cut they grew back. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worst the last of the tendrils wrapped firmly around my neck making it bit difficult to breathe and as the water moved around me I realized something. It wasn't the water moving, I was. It was taking me to the witches.

I have no choice. There is no way I could get us on land, I have to lift my seal no matter how risky it may be. However if this thing was dragging me to the witches there was no doubt they were nearby making it easy for them to come find me themselves after I lift the seal. But if I just stay like this, they will get me for sure. I need to take the chance even if it means the witch council coming here.

With that thought I focused deep within breaking link by link until all the chains I placed was gone and the seal disappeared. My red eyes shone brighter, my black hair grew longer, my nails were longer almost claw like and my fangs emerged. I was a lot more feral than normal because the darkness within me was close to the surface.

Sensing a difference with me the creature turned and its eyes widen as understanding dawned. Quickly it summoned more tendrils to further confine me but my claws slashed right through them easily.

Play time was over, the gloves were off. I'm going to make this thing regret ever trying to harm the werewolf race.

As I slashed off the last of its tendrils it froze staring at me dumbstruck. This creature knew that as of a few seconds ago there was a huge shift in power between us. I was no longer its prisoner and as fear shone brightly in its eyes, it was clear as day. This creature was now my prey.

Moving forward too fast for it to follow my fist went flying into its chest sending it down and slamming into the ocean's floor. Much like it did with me, however this time it created a small crater as the ground shock. Pausing a second I reminded myself to be careful of my strength before I caused damage to the island.

Rushing forward I was about to deliver a more controlled punch before a dark wall of water appeared before me causing me to slam into it coming to a stop. Before I could move the wall shifted. Turning and twisting as it changed shape a sphere was formed trapping me inside.

I didn't realise its magic was advance enough to create solid objects especially something that can stop me. This creature was very impressive but not good enough to beat me. It must have figured that out as well since it was now on the defensive.

Casting a few spells I kept putting pressure on the sphere until it burst, freeing me. It was right in front of me now. It floated only a few feet away from me and while I could see the fear in its eyes there was also determination. It was going to use everything it had to bring me to the witch council. While being this close I realized something else. As its hair floated up and away from its face I realized it was actually a 'she'.

Coming forward she punched me right in the guts. I could have dodged but I was now curious. I wanted to see what she can do so I stayed still. Slowly she removed her fist from my stomach and I watched her flinch as her now broken fingers moved back into place and healed. I however didn't feel anything, in this form I was a lot stronger than normal and little punches would do nothing. She was stronger than an Alpha about the same as a Knight level warrior.

I just stayed still staring at her waiting to see what her next move will be and then I saw it. What I've been waiting for, her fangs emerged. At least she was a quick learner her strength and magic was useless so she was going to use her venom.

Rushing forward she tried biting my neck and while I stayed still before this time was different. I didn't know what the venom will do to me. Quickly I grabbed her by her throat stopping her mid action. I didn't stop her air flow but I limited it to a point where she couldn't focus on her magic but instead just trying to breathe. The darkness around us started disappearing and I realized she was losing control of her magic in this position.

Being this close I noticed something else, there was a black tattoo along her collar coming up to wrap around her neck. It glowed underneath my grip and as I saw the seal I knew exactly what it was. The water talisman but rather than putting it in an object that can be removed the witches embedded it into her body. The only way to remove this would be to kill her.

I started swimming to the surface and then used a few spells to float us back to the cliff side. At least back on land she can't use her magic. While I could rip her head off I decided against it. She was working for the witches. I needed to know what else they had planned for me and she will make the perfect prisoner.

As my feet touched land I kept her dangling in the air fighting for her breath. As I held her captive I stared into her eyes trying to gauge her thoughts.

Why was she doing this? What will she gain?

Staring into those identical red eyes I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling blooming inside me. Something about her felt familiar and as her eyes silently pleaded for her life I felt my heart warm. I then realized I actually didn't want to hurt her. Something was wrong, why do I the past execution head and right hand of the council feel sorry for her so much so that I don't want to hurt her?

No! I can't feel sorry for her. She has killed quite a number of werewolves already. She is my only link to the witches.

As my resolve strengthen and those ludicrous thoughts disappeared I took a deep breath and looked deep into her eyes.

"Don't move."

I spoke casting a command spell much like I did with the lycan beta. She soon after stopped struggling in my hold and her body grew limp in my hold as she stared at me helplessly.

I brought her down till her feet touched the ground and eased up on my choke hold so that she could speak but I kept my grip so she can't run from me just in case the command wasn't strong enough. Now to start.

"If you don't want to die you will answer everything I ask you." I spoke coldly as my eyes shone brightly.

She gave a small nod showing she understood.

"What are you?" I demanded.

Her eyebrows drew up together as she remained silent, she either didn't understand what I asked or didn't want to answer.

My grip tighten as I spoke again, this time louder.

"What are you!?"

"I don't know." She spoke quietly, the topic seemed like a soft spot and from the sadness in her voice I knew she was telling the truth. The reality behind this was scary, if she wasn't born she was created.

"Then who is your maker."

"Master."

So there is a creator, to think a monster that can easily kill werewolves were created. Aries was right, I smell the witches all over this.

"Who is your master? Who is the witch that created you?" I demanded.

At this question she froze, her reluctance to answer was clear.

"I-I don't kn-know." She stuttered staring at the ground. The signs were there, she was lying.

"You sure about that?" I spoke coldly as my grip tightened around her throat.

She nodded quickly in response.

"That's too bad because you see the thing is, I know you're lying." I spoke darkly.

As my right hand held her throat I placed my left over her heart. Slowly my claws started sinking into her chest and black liquid poured out of her like blood. She still didn't answer but she was breaking. I could see it in her eyes, she was scared.

I continued to sink my claws deeper into her chest. Just as I brushed her unmoving heart a lone black tear rolled down her eye causing me to look up and at her. It would seem she had no normal body fluids, it was all black and inky like her tears or the supposed blood pouring out of her chest.

"Are you ready to speak the truth now?" I spoke in a dangerous tone hinting that if she remained quiet things were going to get a lot more worse than having my hand in her rib cage.

A few more of those black tears rolled down her cheeks before she gave a light nod.

"Now speak!" I demanded roughly.

"Master- Master is-" She stuttered hesitant but something had caught her attention. As her eyes glanced behind me I knew someone was standing right behind me. Someone else was here with us. Mathew should have evacuated the area by now. No one should be here. Whether it was a threat or not I couldn't take a chance.

Pulling my claws out of her chest I turned swiftly while still holding her. Growling loudly my eyes flashed blood red. I took on a threatening pose with my claws stained in black blood outstretched towards the intruder and my fangs exposed only to freeze.

I came face to face with someone I least expected. Their fear was evident. It was obvious, I frightened them. That knowledge didn't sit well with me. Trying to control his breathing and rapid heart rate my mate or now ex-mate stood only a few feet away from me. I must have been really distracted not to notice his presence.

As our eyes connected, I froze. I could feel it, just how scared he was. I dropped my outstretched claws to my side but the little act caused him to jump and I heard his sharp gasp. It was clear as his eyes followed the hole I left in her chest, my fangs, my eyes or the way he couldn't stop staring at my claws, as if I was going to rip him up next. I terrified him.

An uneasy feeling bloomed within me and as he continued to stand frozen unable to look away or even run I realized just what I looked like to him... a monster.

As those thoughts filled my head I didn't notice my hand slackening around the creature's neck or when she slipped out of my grip. The only warning I got was Jake's eyes glancing behind me in worry, too late did I realize that he was actually worried about me.

The creature stood only inches behind me before grabbing my throat and dragging me back those last few inches before sinking her fangs into my neck.

Alice's POV

The whole pack was gathered in the safe house. Noble Mathew, Beta Jarred and Gamma Ryan were the authority figures here. Apparently noble Carter had been hurt and Alpha Jake had yet to arrive. Looking around the room I could see the fear and worry in everyone's' eyes. They knew about the creature, that it was here, that right now Royal Alex was fighting it. As they prayed for her to win I prayed for her to be safe.

Since everyone had been rushed here I had an uneasy feeling. Something bad was going to happen and my mind automatically went to Emma. We have only known each other for a few days but something else was there. It felt like destiny meeting her.

From across the room I could see Beta Jarred glancing at me worriedly. It would seem he wanted to come check on me himself and make sure I'm fine but his mate was stopping him. I however couldn't care less.

Suddenly the uneasy feeling grew worst and I started worrying for Emma again. No matter how much I tried to convince myself she would be fine, that she is strong I couldn't shake the feeling. Something bad was going to happen to her. The most confusing thing though is that I keep wanting to find her. I felt like I should be right next to her but that's crazy. I'm practically human, that thing will easily kill me. Yet still the thought remain and it only got worse by the second. I need to find her, now.

Just then noble Mathew walked in.

"Okay everyone, the Execution team is here. Not to worry everything will be fine."

He addressed everyone. Signs of relief could be heard throughout the room but none came from me. Getting to my feet I approached him.

Bowing I questioned worriedly, "Is Royal Alex okay?"

"Yes she is very strong she would be fine, also the Execution team should be joining her about now."

Noble Mathew spoke reassuringly, however I was only able to hear his first few words because suddenly a sharp blinding pain erupted from the right side of my neck. The last thing I remembered was noble Mathew stepping towards me with outstretched hands just as the pain became too much to handle. Everything went black and I fainted in his arms.
