Council Doctor pov

"Clear!" I yell before pulsing royal Alex once again. She was barely alive as it is and the nobles were trying to hold off the alpha lycan. Though no one had any idea as to why a lycan was there in the first place. Its mate couldn't possibly be here. The only dying female here was royal Alex and she had already lost her mate since only mate-less wolves can join the council. Unless she was like noble Cole and noble Ryder and this was indeed her mate.

Crash!

Risking a glance behind him the doctor turned to see the lycan had thrown Ethan through a wall. Ryder then advanced snapping at its neck but he wasn't fast enough, the lycan grabbed him in mid-air tossing him into a wounded Ethan. While they were both nobles and extremely powerful but a lycan was on a different level, far more for an alpha lycan. They were losing but they kept getting back up, it would have to kill them for them to stop.

Suddenly the lycan stopped his attacks causing both nobles to also pause. Turning he stared at royal Alex for a few seconds seemingly heartbroken before what looked like a tear rolled down his furry face. Then he took a deep breath and released a loud sad howl, he didn't stop with one he kept howling almost like he was crying. He started moving towards her so I ordered everyone to stay back informing them that they're both mates. As he was right in front of her he went down on his knees releasing one final howl and by far the saddest yet. Then he stopped and lowered his massive head on to the bed right next to her. He looked at her with a painful expression as if his whole world had been destroyed all the while his tears kept falling.

I was so dumbstruck by his sudden change in actions that at first I didn't realize what brought on his weird behaviour until it was too late and as the long constant deafening sound of the heart monitor continued to fill the room, it hit me.

Royal Alex was dead.

Emma's pov

It was warm. I could feel the sun on my face. Birds were chirping and the smell of flowers were all around me. I woke up to find myself in a beautiful meadow. Lying among the flowers I looked at the sky. Everything was so peaceful, so serene. I could stay here forever. There was something though... something I think I'm forgetting but right now I don't care. I'm at peace.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds soaking up the sunlight when a shadow fell over my eyes. Opening them I saw what looked like a huge white bird descending. I couldn't really see much of its body but its white wings were beautiful. However as it kept descending I realized this wasn't a bird but a person. Unmoving I continued to stare at his beautiful wings as he came to a landing at my feet. Despite this being the first time I have ever seen him I didn't feel threaten, in fact I felt safer with him here.

Sitting up I was too busy admiring his huge pure white wings to notice the woman in his arms until he placed her on the ground. She didn't have any wings though that must be why he was carrying her. She was quite short and petite, about my size, she also had long black hair like me. Looking back at the man with wings I noticed something else. His eye colour was the same as mine also he was pale like me while the woman was a bit darker. They both seemed happy yet distressed, weird I wonder what they're so worried about. Just then a few tears slipped from the woman's eyes as the man hugged her. She started mumbling into his chest while crying softly, 'She's not supposed to be here', and 'It's too early'.

"Is she okay?" I questioned, even though I had no idea who she was or why she was crying watching her made me feel sad, I don't want her crying.

Just then she let go of the man and step forward placing a hand on my cheek as she spoke softly.

"My baby, you're not supposed to be here yet." She whispered tearfully.

Well that was random, totally normal, note the sarcasm and what did mean by baby? She didn't look that much older than me neither did the man with wings.

"Aria she doesn't know who we are." The man spoke resting a comforting hand on her shoulder as the woman continued to place both her hands on my face while yet another tear slipped from her eyes.

"Who are you?" I question now confused, it seems like they know me but I don't remember them. Wait, in fact I don't remember anything or anyone. It has been so peaceful here I just wanted to stay and not worry about anything. Seeing the confusion in my eyes the man spoke.

"You wouldn't remember. Here mortals don't remember their human life, it helps them to rest in peace." The man spoke as the woman turned to glare at him before speaking.

"It's not her time yet Blake."

"You didn't let me finish." Blake spoke to Aria before turning to me again.

"But you are not a mortal, you can remember but you have to try."

I really didn't see the sense in remembering anything, it was peaceful here, I loved it and I want to stay.

"Its fine, I don't need to remember." My answer apparently wasn't the right one as their eyes widened in alarm.

"You need to go back, you don't belong here... yet." Aria spoke.

"Try to remember and you'll understand why you have to go back." Blake encouraged.

Lying back down I closed my eyes deciding to ignore them. I wanted to stay and that was that, no one will stop me.

Suddenly I was yanked to my feet all too quickly causing my head to spin. As soon as I opened my eyes to question what was the big idea of roughing me up. Blake waved his hand in front my face and just like that everything changed. The sky, the sun, the flowers, everything was gone. I was now staring into chocolate brown eyes, they were so beautiful I was entranced. I didn't even notice I was now in a huge bedroom. As the man in front of me smiled my heart raced and I finally realized my surroundings. This man though, I wonder who he was. He was very tall so much so that my face came up to his heart. If I was any closer I would have to stretch my neck way back just to see his eyes. Short dark brown hair, cupid pink lips, a strong jaw. Everything about him just pulled me in but who is he?

I didn't realize I spoke that last part out loud until Blake answered.

"He's waiting for you, you just have to remember."

"Who is he?" I asked still confused but wanting to know who he was. This man whoever he was draws me in like a month to a flame. I have to find him.

As if seeing my resolve Blake raised his hand yet again and everything disappeared, we were back in the meadow.

"Close your eyes and focus. He is your anchor. Now remember who he is."

Doing as told I closed my eyes remembering his face, his smile and those amazing chocolate brown eyes. It hit me so suddenly I stumbled backward. Before my eyes there were flashes of him, of us, of everything. Finally when it was over I opened my eyes to whisper one word.

"Jake."

"You remember." Blake spoke with a smile.

Looking at them closely I saw it, they weren't just here to help me. The resemblance was too strong. These two were my parents.

"Dad" I spoke.

He smiled and hugged me, then Aria my mother joined in a three way hug.

"Mom" I spoke again a little louder this time.

"How is this possible? Where are we?" I questioned now remembering.

"We are in serenity, it's a place of rest below heaven. Good souls rest here before ascending to heaven to become an angel." Dad spoke.

"Then the venom must have killed me?" I questioned growing afraid. This can't be it. I have to stop the witches and I just found my mate there is too many things I didn't finish.

"Logically yes... but while your body is dead, your soul is in limbo. That's why you're here and didn't cross into heaven. Normally only humans come here you should have entered heaven right away." Dad answered.

"There is something else though, honey do you know of the ancient legends? That each witch has a guardian angel. When the witches betrayed heaven god cut their connection and so as of two hundred years ago all witches no longer had guardian angels. However you're different, you despite being half witch still have your angel. We just have to hope he is close enough to bring you back." Mom finished and confusing me more. I have a guardian angel? And how will he bring me back?

"Child you're very special, god created you to be earth's saviour. He even chose an arch angel to be your guardian, normally they only stand by his side. None has ever touched earth until you were born. They alone have the power to drag a soul back into its body. Your angel is asleep in its vessel however, the moment you die he will awaken. Your angel can reach you here but he needs to be close to your body to complete to process. Only then he'll be able to save you." Dad spoke gravely.

"Who is my angel, and how do you know so much?" I questioned as my head spin from all the information. It was hard to wrap and my mind around everything. I was created by god himself? For what, to save to world? Am I even strong enough to face the witches on my own?

"We have been watching you honey. I'm sorry for everything you had to go through, that we weren't there to protect you. We saw your pain, every tear you shed, every time you bled." Mom spoke softly starting to cry again as dad's eyes got teary.

"We are so sorry for leaving you." My dad spoke now with his head lowed in shame as mom continued to cry into his chest.

So I wasn't alone after all. They have been watching all along. Knowing that made me feel warm inside. I now know my parents truly loved me. Smiling I answered.

"It's not your fault, it's the witches. What matters is that I got to meet you and the knowledge that when I die I will be able to join you both in heaven."

"Yes honey, we love you." Mom spoke pulling me into another hug as dad also joined in.

"Dad, you didn't answer though, who is my angel?" I questioned when we released each other.

"The strongest of them all, god's right hand, Michael." Dad spoke with great respect, it was obvious that he admired him.

"But angels of that strength can't walk on earth. Their power could destroy it. That's the reason why only the weakest of angels are guardians to the witches. In order to walk on earth your guardian angel uses a vessel. Who that vessel is we don't know but you will be able to tell. Even when your angel is asleep you will feel the connection once you meet the vessel." Dad continued.

Thinking about my Dad's words for a few seconds I realised that I just might have already met my angel and if my suspicion was right he is close enough to save me, it would just be a matter of time.

"I think maybe... I have already met him." I spoke thoughtfully.

"You have already mastered your witch half, however your angel half is still asleep. Once you have found your guardian angel all your powers will awaken. He will help you master them and in time you will become the strongest being on earth. It's the very reason why god gave you a mate, so that you can have an anchor."

Just then I felt a tingle in my toes and it started spreading, looking down I realised my body had started glowing as the tingling continued throughout my whole body. Looking at my dad alarmed he just smiled relieved, my mom also had the same expression.

"It looks like you really did met him already. You're glowing because he started the process of dragging your soul out of serenity and once he is next to your body he will be able to place you back." Dad spoke.

I smiled softly, while I wanted to go back I will miss my parents. As if reading my thoughts mom spoke.

"We love you honey and we'll be waiting." She smiled as Dad also smiled.

"Live life to the fullest, be happy and when your time comes we can be together again."

"Okay, I love you too." I spoke just as the glowing overwhelmed me and my vision turned into white light as my parents disappeared.

Just as quickly the ground disappeared from underneath me and I was falling. The white quickly turned black and I could no longer see anything. I continued falling as darkness surrounded me then in the distance I heard wings flapping. Someone else was here with me and they were coming closer. The last thing I remembered was hands grabbing mine as I lost consciousness.
