Tobago: The Crescent Wolf Pack
Northeast side of the Island: About a mile from shore
Cain took strong strides with his army behind him, his number one on his right and second on his left. As they moved through the ocean's floor at impossible speed sand and ocean weed moved around them. With water as clear as day Cain could now see the outline of a forest as he neared the shore. Taking those last few steps he was the first to break the surface, his first and second following right after. He already knew what the plan was, distract the warriors here while his first and second sneak out to the find the hybrid. Knowing his bloodlust the council has ordered him to not kill any more wolves, they were quite angry at the mess he left behind in Barbados. Their warning was Emma clear, no irreversible damage was to be brought to the werewolves, only retrieve the hybrid. They didn't want to wipe out the entire werewolf race but to simply dominate them. If Cain were to kill everyone here the entire werewolf race would go into chaos without their leaders. However Cain wasn't one hundred per cent sure his pets would follow the order, after all it was in their nature to bite their victims resulting in death due to the venom their fangs inject into the bloodstream.
As the last of his pets left the water they all now stood on the beach. Cain's sharp eyes searched the forest before them. It was quiet, too quiet. Considering the massacre he left in Barbados the wolves should have gotten wind of him by now. Physically witches were the same as humans but Cain was different, his every physical ability was stronger about the same level as a noble warrior. Many believed Cain used his dark magic to attain a stronger body but there was a deeper untold truth. Alice
Taking a deep breath the air stunk of wolves, they were hiding. As his sharp eyes once again searched the forest he finally spotted what he was looking for. They were in the woods, not far out cloaked with magic, most likely the council leaders doing. Probably thinking they had a better chance at an ambush. From the strong smell of iron and silver it would seem the council was prepared for his pets. They had a better chance with weapons rather than shifting. Smiling his evil twisted smile Cain spoke loudly in a deep sing song manner knowing the hiding wolves could hear him.
"Come out come out wherever you are!"
Nothing so he continued teasingly.
"We just want to play!"
There was still nothing.
"Ah, so you wolves already started without us, no worries. Pets the game is called hide and go seek and it's our turn. Go!"
He commanded loudly, ending in a low deadly growl.
Rushing forward at inhuman speed his pets flew into the forest each dragging a wolf or two out onto the beach. In the mist of it all Cain stood calm looking on proud that his pets were actually following his orders perfectly and not letting their instinct take over. The younger ones were still a bit difficult to control since it was harder for them to fight their instincts. His first, second and third though had great control. His first could even speak fragments of sentences, a difficult task for the walkers.
Cain's third dragged out the last wolf and the strongest so far most likely the leader. With blood dripping from his head and into his eyes, royal Lucas looked slightly dazed as the walker dragged him along the beach to deposit him in front of Cain proudly. He obviously knew this was the leader and wanted his master to know he was the one to catch him. Like a dog receiving attention from its owner the walker smiled a big goofy grin as Cain patted his head saying 'good boy'.
Lucas still clutching his cell phone struggled to stand. The walker had hit him hard over the head before he knew what was happened. A deep gash was left to the side of his temple as the walkers' claw caught Lucas. It was healing a lot slower than it should, definitely not a royal wolf level. These walkers moved fast, real fast. There is only one other person he knew that can move so fast, Alex but why would they have such abilities?
"It looks like I won, which means I get a prize. Where's the hybrid?" Cain questioned as his eyes noticed the cell phone clutched in the Royal's hand. Snagging it he checked the history. Hmmm Ivan and not even a minute ago, then the council knew he was here. His first and second will need help. Turning he looked at his pets who now had formed an impenetrable circle around all the wolves they caught making sure they can't escape. Smiling lightly at their obedience and smart thinking Cain thought he would have had to tell them everything but it looks like they have grown even more, making decisions without having to be told. He spoke pointing to some of them.
"You ten come with me. Number three you're in charge. " He finished looking at his third in command before grabbing Lucas by the collar with one hand and throwing him a good distance in front them displaying an strength no witch should have.
"Be a good hunting dog and lead the way."
Slowly shuffling forward Lucas tried buying the council some time by purposely moving at a crawl pace, playing up his head injury. Cain didn't seem suspicious considering the amount of blood that was pouring out of Lucas' gash. When his pets become too excited it's hard for them to control their inhuman abilities. His pets were as fast and strong as vampires but without the bloodlust, though the instinct to bite remained.
Purposely tripping Lucas really hoped that by now the council would have completed the spell and as he neared the cliff the smell of blood filled the air.

Tobago: Crescent wolf pack
Cliff Side
Demetrius loud voice boomed across the clearing shouting orders.
"Wolves we fight with our lives, no matter what happens next protect the right hand at all costs!"
Everyone hurried to one knee the proper stance of a warrior as 'Yes Sir' echoed throughout the clearing before they stood again. Though many were confused that the right hand were a girl now wasn't the time to ask questions. They were about to face an army of undead creatures and that was the last of their worries.
"Plan B, we need to get her to HQ. The magic there is stronger than Cain. It'll buy time till we can try the spell again. Cole and Ivan your teams take the front line. Execution team you're the last line of defense. Matthew get the black hawk as close to the cliff as possible. Stealth team use your magic tools to create a barrier, everything in this clearing will be concealed nothing must pass through. They still don't know where we are so the first place they'll look is the pack house. Roderick and Aries let's help create the barrier spell. Ethan and Ryder don't leave her side and wrap her cut up she's human now."
Gently taking her tiny wounded hand into his much larger ones Ryder looked down at the still sleeping Emma, who had no idea of the danger she was in before starting to care for her cut. As he tied the bandage finishing up he reached forward with shivering hands towards her cheeks. Nervous as he was about Cain he couldn't help but to want to touch her, just a small caress he thought as fingers trailed along her tiny button nose. Just then Ethan spoke and even though he was speaking to Alice, Ryder's eyes followed over to her as well. Then suddenly an idea struck Ryder.
"Ethan, I think I know something else we can use to do the spell." Ryder spoke excited and urgently.
"What?" Ethan questioned confused but with a small hope in his voice.
However before Ryder could respond a loud painful scream break the air. They were under attack and Ivan and Cole were busy fighting two of those creatures. Even though there was a considerable distance between them Ryder could still sense every move those creatures made, or more accurately her, the female creature. There was something about her that he couldn't quite pinpoint but it drew him to her. Like a moth to a flame he stood in a trance walking towards her. He stepped over Emma and towards the walker. However each step he took caused his wolf to get angry and angrier that they were leaving Emma alone when it was so dangerous. Yet still it didn't stop Ryder as he continued on.
Now dangerously close to the fight Ryder found himself staring at her completely lost and unsure what to do. She was fighting Cole, him with double sliver swords and her with her fangs and claws. Cole seemed to be struggling she seemed cool and collected. The second one though was breathing heavy as Ivan attacked him over and over getting more and more vicious. Seeing an opportunity Ivan ran his sword through the male who dropped to the ground as black ink gushed out his mouth and chest creating a pool around his dead body. Suddenly both Cole and Ivan were fighting her.
Watching them had Ryder's heart tightening in his chest. He didn't like it and he didn't understand why. Now only a few feet away, Cole and Ivan kept yelling for him to get back but he didn't listen. He continued inching forward, closer and closer something about her called out to him. His actions were unconscious, he had no control and it left him utterly confused. Cole brought down one of his swords in a kill strike. She dodged but the other immediately followed however she was really fast and easily docked away. Ivan followed right after but nothing they did was killing her, unlike the dead male walker she was faster and stronger. They alone can't kill her. Something from the corner of Ryder's eye caught his attention, turning he finally understand what they were really doing. As the two continued fighting her with everything they had they succeeded at distracting her while Demetrius was now wielding a sliver sword himself. As light currents of magic flow through the blade Ryder realized Demetrius just wanted them to buy time for him swoop in for the kill.
Chanting a few words Demetrius disappeared from his sight using a concealment spell to mask himself. The act had Ryder's heartbeat escalating to unhealthy levels as an unexplainable dread overcame him. Rushing forward he unsheathed his sword blocking a blow from Cole before getting in front of her in a protective stance but as he heard metal entering flesh from behind, he realized he was too late. He turned just in time to see the other end of Demetrius' sword sticking out her chest as black ink started pouring out. Demetrius lifted the concealment spell appearing behind her. He pulled his sword out of her with a grace that depicted many years on the battle field. She fell forward and right into Ryder's arms. Instantly his confusion turned into bewilderment. He now understood his weird actions.
Completely baffled his arms came up to gently help her to the ground. Laying her down the front of his shirt was now soaked through and through with the sickening black ink that would seem to be their blood. Four pairs of eyes followed him perplexed. Demetrius, Cole, Ivan and Ethan looked on confused as hell. What was going on? Why did Ryder try to protect the creature?
His fingers now trailed over her hair and lightly down her check. When he first caught her he was utterly speechless, an electric current had ran through him and everywhere they touched he felt sparks. It wasn't greatly intense like a normal mate bound but it was there. Now however, it's getting less and less as she was dying and with it his newly discovered mate bound. This explains why he never found his mate. He was conflicted and unsure about how he should feel. His wolf however had no response to her, he didn't care she was dead. In fact he was angry that Ryder continued to stay with this creature rather than return to Alex. Shouldn't his wolf be upset? His mate just died in his arms.
Suddenly strong hands grabbed onto Ryder's shoulder shaking him. Ethan was now in front him screaming in his face since his normal tone of voice didn't seem to get through to Ryder.
"Snap out of it! What's wrong with you? Cain will be here any second!"
Finally Ryder looked up, forest green met ocean blue and Ryder's confusion cleared. Ethan was right. There were more important things at hand. Looking up he saw Ivan and Cole looking at him in concern and confusion. Demetrius' eyes though held sympathy. Did he understand what just happened? Ryder wasn't able to give Demetrius' reaction much thought as Ethan continued yelling at him in an urgent manner but not as loud as before.
"Now, what were you telling me before? You said you know how to make the spell work? Who else has that kind of power?" Ethan demanded as three sets of eyes went wide, Ivan, Cole and Demetrius stood frozen, was there someone else as powerful as Alex? Was that even possible?
Taking a deep breathe Ryder tried to compose himself before speaking.
"The runt. Use her blood." He spoke looking at Demetrius squarely.
Three sets of confused eyes looked at Ryder while Demetrius stared at him thoughtfully. He did think it was weird that Emma's last gift of foresight had acted up when Alice was mention. He had a hunch this was not just another rejection case. The little runt must have a part to play in Emma's density.
"Why?" Demetrius questioned, eyes gleaming as his hunch was right. There was a deeper meaning to Emma wanting to personally protect the runt.
Looking Demetrius dead in the eyes and with a firm tone Ryder spoke, "The runt is her protector... her guardian angel."
Three loud gasps were heard and jaws dropped but Demetrius smiled.
"I trust you."
He spoke before calling Aries and Roderick over.
"Aries you have to cast the spell alone. Do it again but use the runt's blood, trust me. Roderick, Cain will be here any second, you will fight alongside me against him."
Aries hurried to start the spell again. It would take him a bit longer to do it alone but once her blood was as powerful as Emma's it would work.
Roderick grimaced slightly. He hated fighting but it was necessary. It wasn't always so though. In his younger days he was a ruthless blood thirsty alpha, even when he met his mate. She was a peaceful soul and always reprimanded him on his violent ways. She tried to teach him empathy and mercy however he never listened. In the end his ways resulted in her death. From that day on he changed, it was the reason he is the way he is. Joining the council he now lives by her words, too bad she died before she could see him change.
Suddenly a dark wave of dominance radiated around them. The evil supernatural presence wrapped around them in a horrible choking manner seeping straight into their bones. A cold shiver passed through Ryder as he like everyone turned towards the source. The forest ahead stood silent as the council warriors hurried into formation for what was to come.
The smell of blood hit them first. Like a brick wall, Royal Lucas' blood was in the air. Weapons drawn, there wasn't a wolf without sliver. Then the sound of footsteps came, growing louder and louder until a figure came into view. Lucas bloody self-limped forward towards them looking battered and broken. He took a few steps into the clearing before crumbling to the ground as a pool of blood started forming around him, surely the results of Cain's impatience.
Not even seconds after another figure came into view with about ten others behind him. Wolves stood taller and sharper in Cain's presence. It would seem they all knew of his reputation. He continued forward stepping over Lucas' unconscious form. He could see the tight grip the little wolves had on their weapons. The fear in their eyes and the way they would shiver when he looked at any of them. Locking eyes with Demetrius who was at the center with Roderick next to him, Cain spoke loudly for the whole clearing but not before he located Emma and his eyes glowed in excitement.
"I feel honored, quite the welcoming party for little old me."
"Well you don't grace us with your presence often."
Demetrius bit out warily watching Cain's every move like a hawk as Roderick tensed next to him grabbing his sword handle. Cain was exactly right outside the barrier spell they just put up. He quite literally can't take another step. He wouldn't be able to pass through. Demetrius wondered if he stopped walking because he knew he couldn't pass or was it just a coincidence. However just as the werewolves started feeling like they had a fighting chance Cain took one more step easily passing through the barrier like it didn't even exist blowing away any and all hopes they had of surviving. The air crackled and a surge of dark magic flew around them as the barrier was now destroyed.
"Well then, I feel obliged to leave a lasting impression." Cain spoke darkly with his trade mark evil smirk.
