Tobago: The Crescent Wolf Pack
"I heard Alpha Cole found him in the woods." One pack member whispered.
"So sad, to think we grew up with him." Another whispered.
On a grey murky day, the cold wind blew as light drops of rain fell. It was a few days after the dreadful storm. Hushed whispers echoed throughout the crowd until Alpha Cole stepped to the front raising a hand and instantly all was silent.
"We are gathered here today to bid farewell to Beta Jarred Thompson..." Alpha Cole spoke in a solemn voice.
The Crescent pack was gathered near the cliff side. All wearing black, some were crying loudly, some quietly weeping and some were frozen still at the shock of it all.
Cole though felt no remorse. The Beta's death was his own doing, his own punishment for rejecting his mate. As he continued on with the farewell speech his eyes roamed the crowd for one person who was already looking at him silently.
Brittney stood quietly taking it all in. Her mate was dead, though since she met Cole her feelings grew dimmer for Jarred every day, now it was completely gone. The moment he died she felt it. Her bond disappeared and Cole was all she could see. In these past few days, she didn't even spear a second the think about Jarred. Cole filled her very being. The mate bond had intensified to such a level she couldn't ignore. Cole, on the other hand, was handling it better than her. Demetrius had cast a few spells helping Cole suppress his side of the bond but Brittney didn't know that and continued to feel utterly rejected not knowing what to do to gain his attention. She had started doing what Alice did, taking up all the chores that were given to the runt. She quickly learned it was not an easy task. She only lasted a few hours before she was ready to give up however just then Cole appeared and the slightest sign of approval had her pushing on and accepting even more chores. She worked from early morning to late night barely getting any sleep. Her only motivation was remembering the split-second Cole actually looked at her without hate or disgust. Lately, he hasn't been as cold to her as normal. Maybe he was acknowledging the effort she was making to change and even though her beta and ex-mate lay dead a few feet away from her all she could see was Cole.
And so on a cold gloomy day, Beta Jarred Thompson was lowered six feet under.
As Cole finished his speech, an uneasy feeling settled in the pit of his stomach so small and sudden he had no idea where it even came from. Scanning the forest line he saw nothing, brushing it off he continued with the funeral.
Unknown to the entire pack even their Alpha, a shadowed dark figure lingered deep within the forest looking on. Cain observed the little farewell with a darkly twisted smirk.
'If only they knew what was about to come.' He thought.

Actaeon Island: Vulcan Clan
As cold winds whipped past her, Emma stepped to the top of the fortress with a shiver. Silently looking out over the forest she was lost in thoughts. She had been feeling a forbidding since last night. She hadn't told Ambrose but she had a strong feeling of the cause. Her third power of foresight must be trying to warn her, the witches must be close, Alaric was coming for her. Though all her powers weren't back, she was getting stronger and stronger every day soon she will be her old self again.
Suddenly a change in the air caused her pores to rise. Completely on alert, she surveyed the area before a cold chill ran down her spine. From the edges of her shadow another slowly formed. Twisting and turning it started taking form as the relentless winds became still. The intense level of dark supernatural presence had her gasping and clutching her chest. Never before had she ever felt anything that sinister. A figure of black smoke was formed towering over her and before she knew it the intensity of his dark presence was too much. Falling forward she was about to hit the ground, as the mysterious figure rushed forward catching her. Where it touched burned and she quickly pulled her hands back as suddenly the dark presence disappeared and she was able to stand. Straightening her shoulders she stood fearlessly but in her mind, she called for Ambrose, something was very wrong but she couldn't show fear.
"Who are you?" Emma questioned as the smoky figure solidify. A tall muscular form stood before her in all black with a cloak covering almost his entire face only his lips remained exposed as he smiled softly at her, almost in adoration...
Lucifer simply tilted his head staring straight at her taking in everything that was her, engraving her image in his mind.
Emma looked on cautiously. This person wasn't normal. They had to be immensely powerful to get past the barrier but materializing from the shadows? That's one of the oldest dark magic to ever exist. She never saw it in use, only heard of it. The forbidding feeling in the pit of her stomach intensified staring at the cloaked figure. "Why are you here?" Emma tried another question.
At this his subtle smile turned into a grin, almost like just her talking to him was pleasing.
Clenching her fist Emma started screaming for Ambrose in her mind. Why was he taking so long to find her?
"Because this is not real." Lucifer spoke in a deep graveled voice, masking his real voice.
Eyes wide Emma looked around to notice the sun completely set in a matter of seconds right before her eyes. It really isn't real. Wait...
"Yes, you can't hide from me, not even your thoughts."
Now the panic leaked out reflecting on her face as Emma took a small unconscious step back and instantly Lucifer's lips froze on a straight line. He didn't seem pleased with her reaction.
"You don't have to be afraid." He spoke again taking a minute step forward.
"Who are you?" Emma whispered with a slight tremor in her voice realizing the position she was in. He was in her mind, in her dreams, no one could help her, and she couldn't escape.
"Someone you can trust." He spoke softly, soothingly as her breath froze.
"Trust? You can't fool me. I felt it, your evil presence. Who are you?" She demanded now finding her strength.
"I'll never hurt you..." He spoke again softly trying to calm her down. She didn't fall for it though as he continued with a promise. "...Never you." Confused, her eyebrows drew together before he finished. "You are the only one who need not be afraid of me."
"Why?" She questioned perplexed if this evil being wasn't here to kill her what exactly was he here for.
"Because you are mine." As the forbidding feeling turned into pure dread the dark being spoke once more as he reached out and gently caressed her face.
"My queen." He whispered tenderly, it was a vow, one day she would be his completely as her face burned where he touched.
"Qu-queen?" She stuttered slowly stepping back.
Lucifer couldn't help his disappointed sigh. 'It will take some time before she trusts him.' He thought.
With a soft smile, he slowly matched her steps walking forward as bright red eyes gleamed at her from behind his black hood. Soon she was to the edge of the fortress walls, one more step back and she would fall off who knows how many stories down. Frozen still she looked up with wide eyes, never before had she a reason to be so fearful for her physical being. Leaning down closer to her height Emma leaned away losing balance but before she could fall he grabbed her around the waist holding her securely as her entire body froze with the dark stranger this close. While where he touched burned at first it slowly faded as Emma peered up into blood red eyes her own started to bleed red. Something deep within her stirred, being this close to him was awakening something. Her eyes shone blood red as a rush of darkness overwhelmed her for a quick second as the stranger's lip broke into a purely wicked smirk as Emma struggled to collect herself.
Slowly his forehead met hers as he gazed into her eyes, blood red mirrored blood red as Emma's eyes where wide open in fear of both this stranger and the dark things he was awakening. She needed to leave right that second. If she stayed any longer in his arms she could lose herself, it was already hard to remember why she needed to get away.
Lucifer observed his queen with a wide grin. The darkness he saw all those years ago was very much alive. He just needed to draw it out of her and he knew just how.
His lips lowered to hers as she struggled against herself to move. She needed to wake up. As their noses touch a shiver ran through her as a new wave of darkness hit her making her head spin and eyes gleam even more. She was falling into the darkness that was him, sinking, losing control, being seduced by it with almost no escape. As her eyes fluttered close she submitted to him, totally bewitched. Only but a breath away she was yanked backward out of his arms and thrown off the fortress.
Free falling with such speed she was only able to glimpse a slight surprise on his face before he became a tiny blurry figure.
Jolting awake as cold sweat covered her whole body Emma's wide eyes searched her room finding nothing but she knew better. Something evil had invaded her mind, entering her subconsciousness. However, the real question was who?
Dmitri stood behind her bedroom door as liquid gold filled his vision he clenched his fists in anger. Lucifer was closer than he expected. He needed to keep a closer eye on his mate. He will not lose her a second time to that evil.
