A/N: How a Lycan looks, their size vary with their power and their eye and fur color are the same as in their werewolf form.
Alice POV
There was an uncomfortable feeling in my chest from the moment Emma spoke those faithful words. I didn't understand what it meant then, not until it was too late. Taking in the scene before me my very soul was breaking. The one who was suppose to love, cherish and protect me had been the one to destroy me. The breath of happiness I felt mere minutes ago was dead. I could hear it breaking, like glass shattering, my heart was dying. Then it came... the pain. I could feel my soul being ripped away, until there was nothing but a dark empty space.
It's cold. I can feel my body going numb. My legs go weak, my eyes can no longer see and my ears no longer hear. My mind's attempt to block the blinding pain, a natural survival instinct but before I could slip away into the unknown darkness a warmth engulfed me. Something was here protecting me, keeping me alive.
Then little by little the pain eased. My mind cleared. I no longer felt the pain. My heart healed and my soul was whole again. The darkness was gone. It was warm again and unlike before seeing my former mate in such a position now only caused me disgust and brought on years of hate and disappointment. There was no longing, no desire. The chains were broken. I was no longer a slave to the bond. I was free.

Emma POV
Right before my eyes it all played out. I had decided to let her face them bluntly and for that I used my speed and strength to take her there quickly and without warning. As I placed her back on her feet the couple against the tree were still unaware of us. The blonde was pants less and the Beta shirtless as they were entwined together in a passionate kiss that was obviously leading to something more intimate. Averting my eyes to Alice I observed waiting for the moment she makes the final decision.
Her face said it all, she was devastated. Rooted to her spot she continued to look on in a robotic manner. It would seem she had lost her ability speak or even move. Her heart was breaking. Unable to stand it anymore I took her hand in mine about to speak some words of comfort when I felt it. She was ice cold, freezing. How is that possible?
Then looking closely I saw it, her body was shutting down, she was going numb but more importantly, her wolf had given up on her mate. Her wolf was dying and it was happening in a matter of minutes. Soon Alice would either be human or more likely dead as only powerful werewolves can survive losing their wolf.
Then the Beta turned around with a frantic expression and golden eyes, his wolf must have been fighting him all along wanting to stay faithful to his mate. His wolf must have felt his mate dying judging from his expression. Letting out a violent roar his form changed. Hair sprouted along his back, his teeth became sharper and hands and feet turned into claws. As he took on a Lycan form it was clear his wolf had taken over completely.
The Lycan then backhanded the blonde sending her flying and started towards us. By this time, Alice had gone into complete shock and was unseeing. She stood still rooted to that one spot completely frozen and ice cold. I had to decide quickly, I either break the bond without her consent and save both her life and her wolf or leave her alone causing the death of her wolf and most likely her as well. Still it will go against council laws if I broke the bond when she clearly disagreed the last time I asked, I could lose my status. Not to mention the Beta mate who had lost control and was out for my blood, as in his eyes I was the currently the closest threat to his mate.
I stood hesitant while feet pounded heavily against the ground and the Lycan descended upon me. Despite his viciousness and seemingly out of control self, he would never hurt Alice she was his mate, me on the other hand different story. I quickly stepped back as he slashed out aiming for my heart. Easily ducking and turning I kept twisting just out of his reach never attacking him. He continued though unaware that I was slowly leading us away from Alice as despite him not being able to hurting her directly there still could be an accident.
I continued dodging him effortlessly as what would be very dangerous and even fatal to another wolf was nothing to me. He was too slow, too predictable and too aggressive to think clearly. I wasn't fighting a Beta Lycan but a beast following basic instinct. The fact that the werewolf attacking me wasn't her human mate but wolf mate and he was doing it for her sake was the only reason I didn't hurt him. Had it been the human mate his corpse would have been floating to Barbados by now.
I was still indecisive as I have never broken werewolf laws before. Hell, as a royal it was my duty to uphold it. Can I really do it? I could lose my status. As I ducked away once again the answer dawned on me. I came here not just as a royal warrior but to save and protect Alice, to help her heal. If I don't break the law she will die. I have to do what was right even at the risk of losing my status.
Since I didn't want to use violence I decided to break the seal now in order to use a spell strong enough to subdue an out of control Beta Lycan. Focusing deep within I started breaking link by link. The wind picked up, the sky darken, thunder rolled in as lighting strike. This continued until the seal was gone. At full power my neck was now bare of my barb wire tattoo that represented the seal. My hair became longer and darker and my eyes shone its true blood red colour that only pure evil beings can have.
Rushing forward I jumped and landed on the Lycan's back, for the spell I was going to do I needed physical contact with him. He turned trying to grab at me but I was too little for him to reach. He then started slamming me against a tree in an attempt to get me off but with my body it did nothing. Stretching up I whispered into his ear a sleep command causing him to instantly fall asleep and then I quickly jumped off before he could hit the floor and rushed to Alice.
While running I caught sight of her swaying form. I might be too late. Reaching her I embraced her from behind to stop her from falling and because I needed physical contact for the spell. With my eyes glowing brighter from my heightened emotions mainly the fear of losing her I spoke the command that would both set her free and save her life.
'I break the chains of this mating. This one is no longer a slave to the bond. Her soul is now whole again. She is free'.
I could feel her body becoming warm again, I wasn't too late. I was able to save her just in time. After a few more seconds she lost consciousness. Now she was just resting from the shock of having her side of the bond closed.
I spared one last glance at the unconscious Beta who was in for a rude awakening before scooping Alice up and taking her to her room. The deed was done, she could now start the healing process but more importantly she can now find her own happiness.
With this the witches must have already sensed me but it will still take them some time to figure out my exact location, at least I still have some time before they strike, I have to be ready. I'm also curious about how the Beta will change? How far will he go to get his mate? Things were about to get crazy around here and the Alpha and Blondie brought themselves front row seats.

Somewhere deep in the Amazon Forest
The Nature Witch Tribe
Footsteps rushed towards the chief's hut in the little isolated village. As of a few hours ago chaos had ensued. For the last fifty years everything was peaceful. The small village of nature witches never had a reason to contact the witch council. They were happy surrounded by nature and unlike the council they had no desire to take over the world. However despite their personal views they still cannot forsake their race, therefore they obeyed the council.
As of a few hours ago there was a sign, one that had only awakened four times over the past two hundred years. They never knew exactly what these signs were or their source but just that only their chief had the power to sense it. Whenever he did the council was contacted but what followed after the villagers had no clue.
Little did they know that exactly two hundred years ago their chief was involved in the abduction and experimentation of a mere baby for eight years. He had bound his power to the child's so that wherever the child was he could sense her whereabouts. It was a backup in the event she was to ever escape. Now almost two hundred years later the chief had found a more peaceful humble way of life. He regretted his previous actions but it was already too late. He wouldn't risk his people, not even to fix his past selfish mistakes. So he continued to make the proper preparations in order to inform the witch council of the Hybrid's location.

Tobago: The Crescent Wolf Pack
The Alpha's Office
"What did you just say?!" An enraged Alpha screamed at a battered looking blonde.
"Al-Alpha well you see there was a situation. We... we were just together like normal in the woods. We didn't break your rules. We double checked to make sure we were alone. Also Alice wouldn't be that deep into the woods. We were alone and then...then-"
"Get to the point! I'm not in the mood for your riddles! My Beta is in his Lycan form and unconscious. He is currently in the same situation as my Gamma. Right now you are my strongest fighter and yet you stand here babbling. What exactly happened?"
"Alice and the royal happened, I swear we were alone and then they just appeared out of nowhere. Jarred... his wolf reacted first. He lost control and back handed me so hard I blacked out. When I woke up I think there was a storm, there was lighting and thunder and by time I got back to Jarred both Alice and the royal were gone, there was only an unconscious Jarred in his Lycan form."
The Alpha then took a deep breath focusing on his mate. After sensing her presence he breathed a sigh of relief knowing that she didn't leave but was still on the island and within the pack house. He opened his eyes to a confused blonde. It explained why she was so battered with the strength of a Beta Lycan she must have ploughed through a few forest trees. She was lucky all the Lycan did was backhand her. Given the opportunity he would have killed her as he must see her as an obstacle blocking him from being with his true mate.
"Fine, go to the infirmary for treatment... also until further notice you are to have no contact with Beta Jarred, if you two can't control your actions and follow simple orders then you leave me no choice. This is what's best for the pack I can't risk it especially when we are under investigation by the council."
"I understand Alpha." A dejected blonde responded before leaving for she didn't dare argue.
Despite popular belief a werewolf doesn't have two forms but three, their human, their wolf and their Lycan. In human form which is most often the human is in full control, in wolf form which is not as often but regular they both have equal power and then there is the Lycan, in this form the wolf is in full control it is also very rare and dangerous. The Lycan can kill any and everything in its path except its mate. It is also faster and stronger than the wolf form. The only reason a werewolf takes on this form is when their mate's life is at risk but as said before it is rare since humans don't like to voluntarily give up control.
The Alpha then slumped onto one of his couches placed in his office. The pack was currently in a vulnerable position, if rouges or another pack were to attack when he didn't have a Beta or Gamma it would surely be the Crescent Wolf's downfall. His little mate was making things more and more complicated. If only he was the dominant one, things wouldn't be this difficult. They would have already mated and his pack would finally have a Luna. That's how things normally are, in the werewolf race the males are the dominant ones. There was never an Alpha in history with a dominant mate, until now. Why is that? There must be something his mate isn't telling him and it has to do with her red eyes.
He was interrupted from his thoughts by a guard wolf mind linking him that his Beta was still unconscious in Lycan form and finally in the sliver holding cell deep within the dark room. The Alpha gave further instructions to lock down the restricted area of the dark room. While referred to as the dark room it actually spans the entire pack house as it is built underneath it. There are multiple rooms for different uses, to interrogate, to execute, holding cells and so on. It was made for criminals with one restricted section deep within made just for matters like this, if a wolf ever shifted into their Lycan. The cell walls and ceiling were sliver coated, a surveillance system in place, and a series of sliver coated steel doors with the last one for the restricted area being a sliver vault door. It was built to contain a Lycan till the human can once again take over.
The Alpha wondered why his Beta was still in Lycan form, the moment he passed out his human would have taken over and shift. The royal, his mate must have done it that was his only explanation.
He thought, if only there was a way to gain power over her things would be easier, but how? Not to mention she expects him to protect the humans, not happening but she doesn't need to know that. Wait.... There is one thing... the mate bond can never be broken, he thought. If he pleases her until they have fully mated she can't reject him and he can do whatever he wants after. Plus a full mate bond will influence her views to suit his, she will take his side. Great, he finally had a plan to solve his mate problems all the while he ignored the howling within his mind, the protests of his wolf.
While he was busy plotting and Emma was busy taking care of an unconscious Alice a storm was brewing. Something was coming, something evil and it just might have nothing to do with the witches.

The Bahamas, Blood Rose Pack
Border Patrol
"Where's Kyle?" The Gamma questioned.
"He's late as always." Grumbled Rick a pack warrior like Kyle.
"I'm here sorry guys, woke up late." Kyle said with a grin.
"Whatever I'm going ahead, we're late." Rick huffed shifting into his light brown wolf before dashing off.
"Kyle, you know how dangerous being late is. It gives outside entities a chance to attack. While you're late the pack is left unguarded."
"Sorry Gamma I'll be early next time, promise." Kyle winked as the Gamma smacked him upside the head in warning, before hurrying him along.
Kyle, despite being only sixteen was the Beta's son and therefore was already a pack warrior, one of many in charge of Border Patrol. The pack would normally have a patrol for night time, sun set to sun rise.
As the Gamma turned to leave it was already completely dark out. The reason he kept reprimanding Kyle was because at night there were more than just rogues roaming around. There are many creatures of the night some good some bad and then there are the worst, those that lived off blood and chaos. Human blood is their favorite but the humans were well protected by the werewolves and supernatural laws so they normally go for the second option, the closest substitute, werewolf blood.
Kyle shifted then lazily trotted onwards, in his sixteen years there had never been a breach in the pack's border. He didn't understand why Gamma was so uptight when everything was fine. Tonight would be the same as all nights. He would continue his run with Rick or as he likes to refer to him as Oscar the grouch until sunrise. The only reason he got paired with Rick was because of his carefree behaviour. Alpha thought Rick would rub off on him, yeah, not happening.
Kyle had picked up his speed to a run and about twenty minutes later he approached their pack's cliff side and weak spot. Being so since werewolves can't swim. If a wolf falls over they would have to shift in order to swim and in turn leaving them defenceless in their human form.
All was well until the wind picked up and Kyle caught a scent, one of blood and death. Jolting to a stop he looked around in full alert despite it being pitch dark while in werewolf form he could still see fine. As his eyes scanned the woods he mind linked with Rick for his status but after a few times trying with no response he quickly realized just what might be the cause of the scent. He then linked his father about the situation and despite being told to stay put he continued forward out of worry and guilt for Rick. Thoughts like, 'If only he had listened to the Gamma Rick would be fine.' and 'He should have been on time.' filled his mind.
Quietly following the scent only lead him closer to the cliff side. As he stepped to the edge of the woods he swore he could see the shadows shifting on the cliff's ledge. He swiftly ducked and hid behind the trees as he quickly realized two things, one Rick was lying in a pool of blood half dead on the cliff side and two he wasn't alone. Something was there and it sure as hell wasn't a rogue.
Frozen in fear he looked on as the creature continued to hiss some words he couldn't understand. All Kyle heard were hissing, grunts and hints of words. It would seem the creature couldn't speak properly all the while Rick coughed up blood. Whatever it was seemed to be getting frustrated as its questions were going unanswered. Suddenly, it grabbed Rick's shoulders and shook him violently, too violently. From the distance Kyle heard his collar bone snap out of place and a gurgled scream as the creature looked on a bit surprised but still determined. Finally Rick shook his head signalling a no causing the creature to loosen its grip letting him go completely as it turned facing the ocean. Just when Kyle thought in relief that it would leave Rick alone, it swiftly turned back around at an inhuman speed and snapped his neck killing Rick. The sudden act caught Kyle by surprise and he gasped loudly catching the creature's attention as two glowing orbs focused in his direction. Blood red eyes stared back at him and just as quickly the creature turned and jumped off the cliff and into the ocean.

Emma POV
Alice seemed peaceful, she was fast asleep. She'll at least be asleep for the rest of the day or maybe even part of tomorrow. Having one's bond closed off takes out a lot of energy from the body. This is my fourth case, I already know most of what was going to happen only this will be the first time I get to see it with my own eyes. I get to watch the downfall of a Beta, he will do any and everything to gain her love, even if it met bowing down to her and kissing her feet. Now it wouldn't happen instantly but the desperation to have his mate will be the thing that finally breaks him. He would become her slave, that is if he doesn't chose a forceful method but of course he can only do that over my dead body and I'm not someone who can die easily. Alice is mine to protect, she is the little sister I never had and always wanted. Once she agrees I'll speak to the council about adopting her like they did with me.
My thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of my phone. Upon pulling it out of my back pocket HQ flashed across the screen and I answered in a teasing manner.
"What a pleasant surprise I was just thinking about you guys."
"Well it's going to become not so pleasant real quick." Aries spoke in an urgent tone.
"What's the problem?" I questioned now alert.
"There has been a string of attacks across the Caribbean packs. It started with the Bahamas, then Cuba, Jamaica and as of an hour ago Antigua. Whoever is doing this is no amateur. They were well prepared and knew all the packs weaknesses. All deceased wolves were border patrol and went missing at blind spots of their packs' boarders. Only a few hours ago the first corpse was discovered and since then they have been popping up one by one. Even though the latest news is Antigua it is possible this person has already advanced to another country. What doesn't make sense is that they are moving like clockwork, they only kill one member then keep moving south it seems like they intend to cover all the packs in the Caribbean." Roderick reported.
"Actually it does make sense, to move through so many packs while trying their best to remain unseen. It means that they are looking for something or more like someone. Guys I think the witches has finally made their move." I spoke in a grave tone.
"At first that is what we thought too but there was a witness in the Bahamas, he was really shaken up but he managed to get one thing out, 'red eyes'. There is a very good chance that this is a vampire also while examining the corpses we found bite marks around the neck area. Only vampires kill in that manner and besides you, only a vampire can have blood red eyes." Aries spoke.
"Red eyes... then it is a vampire, why are you saying chance? You should be sending out the execution team to deal with it or do you need me?" I questioned, it wouldn't be the first time I killed for the council. Before becoming a Royal I had spent some years as the head of the execution team. It's been a long time since I last dealt with one. They are the kind of creatures that are to be killed on sight. If we don't get to it first the witches would.
"We already did and we have placed a team of wolves on each island with one royal, nobles, knights, common warriors and doctors. You know how dangerous a vampire is, they are faster and stronger than wolves and like the witches they possess magic, though its dark magic. Just one could slaughter a pack. They are the one thing both the witches and wolves agree upon, killing all vampires. We are currently sending two nobles and a doctor for you since you wouldn't need a full entourage. They should arrive in a few hours. The autopsy will be done in another hour only then we can confirm it was a vampire but there is no other supernatural that fits the description." Demetrius informed her.
"Good I will be ready. If it ever steps foot here I will kill it, a rogue vampire is too dangerous especially if it gets too close to the humans." I spoke resolved before hanging up.
A rouge vampire huh, good I needed to release some steam anyway.
