My phone buzzes, a flicker of hope,

Maybe it's her, reaching out,

The notification teases me, taunts me so,

But it's just a message, not from her, no, no.

I find myself still waiting, still longing, still hoping,

For a word, a phrase, a single line from her,

For a sign that she still cares, that she's still missing,

But as the hours turn to days, and the days turn to weeks,

I start to realize, it's all for nothing, all a fake,

The hope fades away, and the truth I begin to see,

That she's moved on, and she isn't coming back to me.

So I put down my phone, and try to let go,

But her memory lingers, I can't let her go.

I wish I could stop waiting, stop this hurt,

But I'm still trapped, still longing for her.
