Main Characters POV
I awaken to a new day. Seems I've been mostly fighting for my life and falling unconscious these few days... My body is still sore and aching, but the piercing cold is gone. I stretch and bend to try to get the stiffness out of my muscles. Inspecting the room I'm in, it seems to be a generalized recovery room. There's a through of water, a dish for food, though its empty at the moment, a pile of hay and cloth for laying in and finally a few shelves and perches. I'm guessing the shelves and perches are for climbing and such.
I clamber up onto one of the shelves. My feet are not suitable for the round perches, so I'll not bother trying them. I'll just fall on my face. I hop of the shelf and glide to the end of the room. Why? Because I want to be able to flyyy~
Also I'm bored.
I do a few more flights before laying down in the pile of hay. The smell takes me back to my childhood. Laying around as a little potato Goblin. Blue laid across my stomach... My chest tightens and I bury my head in the pile.
A while later, I decide to check out the Skills, Spells and Titles I'd gained. I think there's some I haven't gotten an explanation for yet in my old skills too.
*Skills that have not been explained thus far:
- Innate World Knowledge: It's me. Granted by the Divine to the Divine Sacrifice that is to be reborn in this World. Allows the user to access all known knowledge about anything, provided they've encountered the item/entity/concept before.
- Teamwork: Increases effectiveness of cooperation between allied holders of this Skill. synergizes with Leadership.
- Hardy Digestion: Adds a percentile chance of ingested food that normally would cause a Status to not cause a Status. Current percentage chance: 12.5%
- Sharp Teeth: Increases Attack power of bites by 2.5% after Attack Vs Armor calculation.
- Plaguebearer: When active, reduces the effects of the Diseased Status, but greatly increases the transmission rate of the Diseased Status. Also adds a random chance to spontaneously gain a Diseased Status.
- Hivemind: Allows the user to join their consciousness to a willing target. The separation is on the users term, however. Repeated joining and unjoining is ill advised, as the strain could cause permanent damage to the mind of the target.
- Remote Body Control: Allows the user to remotely operate a severed part of themselves as if it was still attached. Synergizes with Hivemind to allow for the complete overtaking of the targets mind and body.
- Boon of Fertility: The user emits an aura that causes nearby living things to reproduce faster. Long time exposure to this aura causes ill effects such as: Infertility, fatigue and death.*
*Spells that have not been explained thus far:
- Withering: Reduces one Core Stat by a certain amount, stacks multiple times.
- Curse: Disables three Skills, selected at random. The higher the tier of the Skill, the higher the chance of it being disabled. Fated skills cannot be disabled.*
Titles that have not been explained thus far:
- Innovator: You've created a new kind of magic tool! Others with the Magic Tool Crafting Skill will look up to you.
- Sole Survivor: You're the last of your family after a great tragedy killed the others. Affects future evolution options.
- Boss-Slayer: You've slain a Dungeon Boss! Other Hunters respect you for your prowess.
- Heart Eater: You... uhm. How does that work? You've successfully digested the source of the Magic Anomaly that powers a Dungeon. Somehow. We're not entirely sure how this will affect your future evolution options, but its sure to do so.*
Hoo boy. So... Those skills I got from the Rat King are all evil Skills. Or well, evil aligned Skills. How you use a sword and all that. Also, is someone eating a Dungeon Heart really so rare that even the Title doesn't know what effects it'll have?
*Even among those who would be able to do so, it rarely happens. The risk of simply exploding from the Magic Overload it would cause far outweighs any potential benefits.*
Then why on earth did I eat it then?
*...*
I hear the door to my room unlock. There's also the sound of something being slid across the door. Is it even barred from the outside? Are they really that afraid of me getting out? Or is that just standard procedure.
In comes Mina, holding a plate of food. Assorted meats and fruits, some berries and veggies. Omnivore diet. "Hi sunshine, you look great." She smiles. "Brought you some food, we're not too sure what you prefer so I took a bit of everything." Oh so not omnivore diet, but I'm-not-sure-what-you-eat-so-I'll-just-try-everything diet.
Mina sets the plate down and backs off a little as I approach it. The vegetables look sort of like the ones from earth. But the colors are weird. I pick up a carrot-shaped root. It's spotted with red against a brown main color. I inspect it.
*Bloodfleck Root*
*Said to be stained by the blood of the Hero who cultivated the first of its kind. A staple crop in most parts of the world, as the plant is hardy and requires little care, some even claiming it tastes better the worse the growing conditions. Edible*
Huh. I try it. The flavor is strange. It's mild and sweet, but with a peppery aftertaste. Would probably go well in a spaghetti sauce. I finish the Bloodfleck and try a few of the other things I haven't tasted before.
*Motamo Fruit*
*Comes from the same genus as the Daygloom, a poisonous plant. As a result, some people have a reaction when eating this fruit due to the minute traces of poison in it. Heat neutralizes the poison though, and as such this fruit is often eaten grilled or blended into a sauce for meat.
Semi-Edible*
It's a vibrant orange, not unlike a persimmon. Though the texture and taste is more like a tomato.
*Vibrerberry*
*A berry with a strange defense mechanism. When the unripe berry is disturbed, it vibrates with an odd hum that most monsters find disturbing. It is common to plant Vibrerberry around other crops as to deter pests. As an added bonus, the ripe berry is popular in desserts. Edible.*
It looks like a strawberry in its shape, but the seeds are inside in a cluster, and its bright pink. My hands stain after mishandling one. They're very delicate. The other things I've tasted before. The Blueberries, Sogleaf and meat.
As I finish eating, I notice that Mina has been taking notes whilst I ate. I tilt my head at her. "Reseach. You're quite the rare monster, almost nothing is known about you. So in the interest of science, I'd like to make you do some tests for me?" Hm, I see no harm in that. I nod to her.
"Great! Let's not dilly-dally." She tucks away her notebook into a bag on her hip before holding out her hand to me. I take her hand, and together we leave the room. We enter into a corridor, not the same one as we walked through yesterday though. The floor is different. The smell too. I'd liken it to that of a stable?
A few curious people stopped what they were doing as we passed what looked like a kitchen. I waved hello to them, they hesitantly responded with a wave of their own. "Used to be just me here, a small dilapidated farm and some hurt pets. Now we're over fifty and we heal and rehabilitate monsters from all over the kingdom." Mina explains. A real rags to riches story.
"Thanks to the generous donations of the King and of the Guild we're able to maintain top safety and care for both people and monsters." The Guild supports this place? Is it a case of "know your enemy" or is it a general desire for conservation? We exit the building, continuing past the magic bleed-off building and into an empty enclosure.
Well, it's not empty exactly. The four adventurers that I helped in the dungeon are standing around. And there are various apparatuses. Not unlike a playground. I look up at Mina. "They wanted to see you, and they'll be assistants in the tests we'll be doing" She explains. I smile. I was worried I'd never get to see them again.
Mina releases my hand, and I walk over to the adventurers. "Does it understand us?" Mr. No Nonsense asks Mina. "I don't know exactly. They know Goblin though, so if anyone of you know that..." They look at each other. Seems none of them knows Goblin? Hm... "Know Kobold?" I bark.
The face of the human female lights up. "Oh! It knows Kobold too!" "You understand Kobold?" the elf asks. "I understand a little. My grandpa was a Plague-Doctor. He had a whole pack of Kobolds he'd raised from eggs. Used them to hunt rats." The mage explains.
So I can somewhat communicate with them. That's good. And if something is hard to understand I guess Mina could step in as a translator. Now, how to do introductions? I don't have a name, do I. Can't open with "hi my name is - " if I haven't got a name. Actually, only the Rat King had a name out of all the monsters I've encountered. How does that work?
*Monster names are special things. They unlock power within them as long as someone knows their name. This is why all children are taught the names of the Elder Dragons as a safeguard against their names being forgotten. Dungeon Bosses are named by the Heart. Usually something simple, just to give it a name. Monsters cannot name each other though. Which is why the display for the brothers you named had their names next to "Unnamed" as a nickname.*
Ah. So one way to become strong would be to have someone name me.
*Do beware that the one that names a monster is granted a modicum of control over it. This control is released upon the death of the namer, and if no-one else knows of the name at that time, the name is lost.*
Hm... so I don't want to be named by the wrong person.
"Is... is it okay? It looks kinda lost in thought there." the elf is inspecting me. I snap back to reality, seems that when I commune with World Knowledge I get a bit lost to the world.
"They do that sometimes. Should of seen it when I gave it food. Stared very intently before eating it." Mina laughs. Oh no I look weird when I inspect things too?
"I bet it's cause it hasn't seen it before." The dwarf gives a knowing nod. "Now then. I suppose I should introduce you properly. This is the Little Monarch. Little Monarch, this is Safyr the Minars, Lentil of the Beast Folk, Tersa the Human and Valena the Ayvin." Mina points to each of them in turn. I'll do my best to remember their names. Though I'm kinda bad at that...
"Mina, could you translate for me?" Safyr asks. "Sure thing my friend. I'll just repeat what you say." Mina responds. Safyr clears his throat before squaring himself up and bowing down to me.
"I, Safyr of Merogem, humbly thank you for saving my life, and the lives of my companions in the Dungeon of the Abandoned Keep. Anything I can do to repay the favor would be accomplished with joy."
Mina repeats this to me. I did understand the first time though. Makes me wish I could speak their language. "Accept. Thank also, help when Goblin in trouble." I say as I bow back to him.
Safyr looks at Mina for a translation. "They accept the thanks. And also they thank you for taking care of them when you found them unconscious."
"Call even." I state. "They call it even. I guess you repaid your favor quickly this time." This time makes me think Safyr has gotten in trouble over favors before...
"Feel better now, Safyr?" Valena asks. Safyr looks relieved. Did he fear I'd ask for something unreasonable in return?
"Much better. You have no idea the anxiety I had over never being able to express my gratitude to it." Seems he lives by a strict honor code.
"As much as I'd love to start the experiments, I need to tend to an... Issue that just arose. I'll see you later. Try to play nicely, yes?" Mina informs. I turn to look at her, and an assistant is whispering something to her.
"Ah, but, how?" Valena stutters as Mina leaves. "I guess you'll have to figure that out in the time I'm gone." She waves as she leaves, her pace slightly quickened.
The four adventurers look a bit bewildered. If only I could communicate with them properly. Maybe If I took a more humanoid shape they'd be able to read my charades better?
I activate Form Edit. A display appears where I have a preview of the new form. Quickly slapping together something decently human-looking, it ends up looking like my current form but like, a little human girl version of it.
Horns on its head, big doll eyes. Fangs, wings on its back. Almost cute in an uncanny way. I'd have made it be older looking, but I'm limited by my size. Trying to make it look older without adding height just makes it real creepy.
I finalize the form, and switch into it. My body feels like it did when i used Viscous Body, but only for a moment. "Ah! It changed!" Tersa cries out. I inspect my new body. Child sized hands, flowing locks of black-blue hair, with cream colored spots near the tips. Looking down, I notice a massive flaw in my plan.
I'm naked.
I look up, and see Lentil and Safyr looking away. Safyrs ears are red, Lentils lay flat against his head. "Quick, find something to cover her up with!" Valena urges Tersa, who is frantically searching through her bag for something. She brings out a frilly night-gown. It is twice my size.
So here I am, bowing in profuse apology to them, the night-gown more or less enveloping my form. "At least give us a warning first." Lentil is rubbing his neck, traces of red still lingering on his cheeks.
*Skill Obtained: Language Comprehension: Common (Lesser)*
- Lets the user understand spoken common. Simple phrases can also be spoken.*
O-oh! Finally! I can try to speak! Lets try it out immediately!
I clear my throat. "Ahm sowwy!" Oh no I sound like a child.
*Technically you're still a child. your current age is 2 months, 3 weeks. In humanoid terms, this puts your development at around the age of 5*
"She speaks!" Tersa exclaims, rummaging for something. She pulls out a notebook and starts scribbling. "You understand us?" Valena asks, kneeling down to get to my eye-level. I nod.
"This is amazing! A monster that can speak and understand Common!" Tersa looks excitedly to the two men. They don't seem too impressed.
"Is that rare? I mean, humanoids can learn the languages of monsters just fine." Lentil shrugs. "Of course it's rare! Other than the Elder Dragons, no known monster has been able to freely communicate in Common before!" She insist. "What about Doppelgangers then? They speak."
Tersa huffs dismissively. "They can only repeat things via Vocal Mimicry. That's why they keep their "doppel" alive, so they can learn their voice." I look at Safyr, he seems lost in though. "Shouldn't we tell Mina? This is a massive discovery after all." He looks to the others.
"We don't know where she went though, and we cant very well leave the Little Monarch to go find her." Valena argues. "We could take her with us?" Lentil suggests.
"That sounds like a terrible idea. What if someone who shouldn't know, learns of the Little Monarch?" Tersa objects. "Would they even know that it's the Little Monarch though? She looks nothing like a monster if we were to cover up her horns." He argues. And here I had him figured for a Mr. No Nonsense. I guess that's his persona when at work?
"Hey, Little Monarch, could you hide your horns?" He asks me. "I twy." I respond. Lets see, turn off Focusing Horn, then edit form... The horns fade into my head. "Tada!" I hold up my hands in an effort to impress. Now, other than my weird hair, I don't look that out of place, although I'm wearing an over-sized frilly night-gown. My hands look like they're in a straight-jacket, and the gown pools at my feet. I'll fall on my face the moment I try moving in this.
"See, now you can't tell the difference between her and a little Photian child in her mothers night gown." Lentil seems delighted to have his way. "But why, pray tell, is a Photian child in her mothers nightgown in this place?" Tersa counters. "I-" Lentil is cut of as an explosion is heard from one of the buildings.
"What on Earth?" Safyr covers his ears in pain. From what I've learned from World Knowledge, his kind have eyes unable to handle sunlight, hence the goggles, and very fine hearing, due to their origin as a cavern-dwelling species.
Smoke is rising from where the explosion happened. "Hurry! We have to go see if we can help!" Valena hurries the others. "But the Monarch!" Tersa hesitates. "She knows Life Magic! She can be of use if there's people that's hurt!" Lentil picks me up and carries me with him as he effortlessly hops over the fencing.
The others scramble to follow Lentil and me. Valena vaults the fence, but Tersa and Safyr are slowed as they need to go through the gate. I hold on for dear life as Lentil runs full speed towards the rising smoke.
Once we arrive, we see that the explosion originated from one of the smaller side buildings. Figures obscured by the thick smoke and hidden beneath heavy cloaks scurry away from the scene. "Dwop me!" I call out to Lentil, who, without hesitating, slows down so I can hop off.
Storing the night-gown as I switch back into my original form, I give chase to the figures.
I'm a bit faster than them, and easily get in front of them. I roar to get their attention. The figures stop, unsure about what to do. Seems my unusual appearance make them unsure about how much of a threat I am. I posture at them, making it clear that I wont let them pass.
One of the hooded people holds up a hand and mumbles something. Their palm glow briefly before a Fireball shoots towards me. I put my hands in front of my face to shield it from the fire. The fire fizzles against my fur, leaving a tiny singed patch where it hit. The mages hand hesitantly lowers. They seem to realize that the spell did little damage.
The mage turns to one of the others, who brandishes a short sword. Oho, we're trying melee now? Not that I mind. My goal is just to stall them. I can see a glimpse of a group of people moving through the smoke, hopefully the'll be here soon.
The sword wielding person rushes at me with their sword. I hop back to dodge it, and as I do so, I hit them with a glob of sticky surprise; Thick Mucous with Spit Attack: Paralysis!
They try to get the spit off them, but falter quickly as their movements slow. I glance at their status, don't want to kill them on accident.
*Paralysis is a non-lethal status.*
I'm more worried about them suffocating from my spit clogging their airways. Also, I'm not getting anything from the inspection.
*Their cloaks and masks have anti-inspection enchantments placed upon them.*
So they are suspicious individuals! As I look up, a gaseous pink orb floats towards me. a spell?
*Spell learned! Mesmerize (Lesser) - puts the target under the Zonked Out status. target becomes docile and biddable.*
Oh I should avoid tha-
*Status Updated: Zonked Out (Normal)*
Hohohoh I feel goood~. Hm? One of them is approaching me? They looks friendly enough, although I can't see his face. They hold a lens of some sort up and look at me through it. "How about a Name, little monster?" They ask. Their voice is slightly garbled. Oooh I'd like that. I nod at them.
"Hm... then how about..." They cast a look at their incapacitated friend laying on the ground. "Spitbubble?"
*That is a terrible name. Name denied.*
Yeah it is! Give me a proper one! I spit in their face. "Ack! You-!" They seem about to hit me before collapsing on top of their friend. I didn't mean to, but this serves you right, trying to give me such a stupid name! Oh! People in armor are surrounding us! They look nice...
"Someone get that monster under control!" Someone yells out. Hm? Control me? I turn to the voice. A man in armor that is a bit shinier than the others is pointing at me. "Ah! Uh! MILLIBELLE! Come here, Millibelle!" The voice of Valena cries out.
*Do you want to take the Name Millibelle? This cannot be changed until the Death of the Namer*
*Yes - No*
That is a much better name. I like it! I feel a nice warmth rush through me as I walk over to where Valena and the others are standing. "Is that your monster, miss -?" the leader of the guards, I guess, asks Valena. "Valena Argenfeather." Valena answers. "It is mine, though the paperwork isn't quite ready yet, I just tamed her after all." She starts patting my head. I lean into her hand. This feels good~.
"Well, thanks to her, the perpetrators weren't able to escape, so I guess my thanks are in order." He salutes her before returning to directing the other guards. The other adventurers share glances of what I guess might be relief and horror. Valena takes my hand and we walk hand in hand to somewhere. I bet its nice wherever were going.
A few minutes later, in an examination room
Valenas POV
"Is she okay? She seems kinda out of it." Tersa asks Mina. Mina is currently examining Millibelle, er, the Little Monarch. Mina herself has a few cuts and scrapes from the scuffle prior to the explosion, but no one was hurt otherwise. "Seems..." Mina looks up with a humored smile. "She got hit by Mesmerize, shes completely Zonked Out." The little monarch is rubbing her head against Minas hand. "It'll wear off in a while, but until then she should be under supervision. And the best person for that should be Valena, since she named her."
"I- I what?" I stammer. "I just called out a name I came up with on the spot to get her out of trouble with the guard." Mina shrugs and hands me an Inspection Lens. "See for yourself, seems like the Little Monarch really liked that name." I hold the lens up to my eye and look at the Little Monarch.
Millibelle
Species: Little Monarch
Status: Zonked Out
"Congratulations Valena, you're the first person to name a Monarch!" Tersa smiles. Though I can sense a twinge of jealousy in her smile. Of course, as an up and coming monster researcher I bet it hurts a little to have a possibility like this slip away. "Thanks, though I really didn't mean to."
"That reminds me, since you told the Guard Captain your little lie, I'll get started on your paperwork right away." Mina says as she measures Millibelle's neck. "For now I'll give you a Collar for her to wear." She writes down the measurement before heading for the door. "I'll be back in a moment with it."
After Mina left, a heavy silence fills the room. Millibelle is contentedly rubbing her head on Safyr, seems she's enjoying the feel of the buzzcut against her chin. "Just don't get her slobber on you, seems its paralytic" Lentil warns. "Shes not a cat though, so I don't think she'll slobber when happy." Tersa muses. I decide to confront the Elephantom in the room.
"Are you angry with me?" I ask. the others look at me quizzically. "Well... I mean..." Tersa turns a shade of red. "I have no issue with this. If anything this should help you with your trial, no?" Lentil flashes a confident smile. "I'm just glad that that mystery creep didn't get to name her. Seems she didn't take kindly to their suggestion." Safyr removes the affectionate monster from his head and starts petting her instead. "Wait, you heard it? what was it, I'm dying to know." Lentil asks excitedly.
"Well, they suggested 'Spitball'." Millibelle furrows her brow when she hears this. Seems she really doesn't like that name. Lentil bursts out in laughter. "Oh man, no wonder she got through the Zonked status with a terrible suggestion like that!" "I bet they banked on that she didn't understand what it meant. Most monsters don't." Tersa suggests.
"Here I am with the Collar! With this on, you shouldn't have many issues getting her home." Mina arrives with a mint colored length of leather with a brass medallion attached to it. She hands it to me. "O-oh, right. Yes. Keeping her under observation means taking her home..." I hesitantly take the Collar and put it on Millibelle.
"I'd love to keep her here, but with the current cleanup and investigation it would be best if she was somewhere else in case anyone figured out what she really is." Mina explains. "Actually, what should I tell people she is?" I ask. Mina thinks for a moment. "Maybe a Changeling? If you have her change into the human form you said she showed you?" She suggests.
At this, Millibelle changed her form suddenly. Lentil and Safyr look away immediately. "It's okay guys, seems she's mimicking the gown i gave her?" Tersa informs the others. There Millibelle was, most of her form obscured by the night-gown from earlier. "How did she do that? Doppelgangers aren't found around here?" Mina seems confused. "What do you mean, what does Doppelgangers have to do with this?" I ask.
"Well, you see, Monarchs hold the Unique Skill Power Osmosis. It lets them sort of, absorb the skills of the things they kill." She explains. "So for her to do this she'd need to have killed a Doppelganger?" Tersa asks. "Possibly. Though it could also be some other Skill she's using." Mina shrugs.
"Oh well, let's head home guys, it's getting late and I bet Mina is needed for the cleanup." Lentil shoos us out of the room. I pick up Millibelle and carry her out. She contentedly lean against my chest and dozes off. I need to get her some proper clothes... As I head for home with Millibelle I start planning an outfit for her.
A Royal Audience
As Witnessed by the Divine
The Guild Masters office is dimly lit. The curtains are drawn, and the only source of light is a glowing prism of clear crystal floating on top of the desk. Guild Master Brekiv Argenfeather is absentmindedly using his fingers to comb through his increasingly sparse covering of hair and feathers. Combs would just tear out the feathers, so an Ayvin usually make do with their hands.
He stops as the crystal brightens and the room is filled with light. A slightly distorted image comes through, before clearing up and showing a middle aged man. The King of the Kingdom of Parshura, Dervix Amberroux nods in acknowledgement of Brekiv. Brekiv salutes back and starts his report.
"A few days ago, three members and one aspirant came across a Little Monarch whilst exploring the Abandoned Keep, a Dungeon located in the Illomen Forest to the east. It saved their lives as they fought against the hordes of rats generated by the Dungeon Boss, before it somehow ingested the Dungeon Heart and destroyed the Dungeon in the process."
Dervix seems intrigued by this. "So you are sure of this. The Dungeon is truly gone?" He asks. "We sent a scout right away to confirm, your Majesty, which is why it is now and not then that I'm making this report." Brekiv answers.
"Always so thorough, good. Well, the loss of the Dungeon isn't a big deal if we are able to properly make use of the opportunities this discovery will bring." Dervix waves his hand dismissively. "The current status on the Little Monarch?"
"It is currently in the care of-" Brekiv is interrupted by a knock on the door. "Sir, an update from Mina. May I enter?" A slightly lisping voice comes from the other side. Brekiv looks to Dervix. "Let them enter, I assume it is news about the Monarch?" Dervix orders. Hitting a button on his desk, the door opens for the person outside.
A blindfolded woman enters inside, each step a part of a well practiced path. Her horns show her heritage, but they are cracked and chipped. A sign of dishonor among Minars. She walks over to the desk, handing over a scroll, before bowing and leaving the same way she came, closing the door behind her.
"She's still you most trusted, I see." Dervix observes. "I suppose there are some benefits to being blind and deaf." Brekiv casts a glance at the King before resuming his reading of the scroll. "I apologize, that was rude." Drevix shrugs halfheartedly. Brekiv finishes reading the scroll and sighs.
"So, as I was saying." Brekiv ignores the Kings comments. "The Monarch was in the care of Mina Bluspark. however, after today's event, it was deemed safer to have it in the care of the aspirant that found it, my granddaughter." Drevixs brows furrows. "What do you mean, today's event?"
"It seems..." Brekiv is no longer looking right at the King, a surefire sign that he is uncomfortable. "It seems that we misjudged the integrity of the person selected for appraising the Magic Crystal we extracted from the Monarch to treat its Magic Overload." Dervix raises an eyebrow. Brekiv continues.
"They apparently owed a huge sum of Gold, and told some... unsavory individuals of the existence of the Magic Crystal in return for a few more months to pay up. These individuals then went to Blusparks ranch to "retrieve" it. In the resulting chaos the Monarch ended up being put under a Mesmerize Spell and Named." Dervixs face contorts.
"It what." Brekiv flinches. "Luckily, it was my granddaughter that ended up Naming it. Which is why she is currently caring for it." He quickly explains. Dervix puts his hand to his chin in thought. "And no-one found out about its true nature." He asks. "We suspect that one of them might have used an Inspection Lens, but we don't know which as they were all wearing Garbling Masks at the time."
Dervix waves it off. "Have them all executed. Just to be sure. I will not let some common thug ruin what could be the grandest opportunity this Kingdom has seen since we obtained the Tear of Ashala." He looks at Brekiv with a challenge in his eyes. "Anything else?" he asks. "Nothing else, your Majesty." "Good, I wish to see this Monarch. Could you arrange that for me?"
Brekiv sighs. "How covert do you want the transport? How long it will take depends heavily on that." Dervix thinks for a moment. "How covert can you make it?" the King asks. "I could have it pose as a Trial. It should cover any suspicions and prevent most from even knowing it is happening. It would of course take some time as it would involve travelling on foot from here to the Capital through the Wilds."
"Have them bring the Magic Crystal as well. I don't mind it taking a while." Dervix informs. "Very well, I'll make the arrangements immediately." Brekiv rises and bows to the King. The crystal buzzes for a moment and the image goes askew before fading entirely. the room is once bathed in the dim glow of the idle crystal.
Brekiv sits back down and sighs heavily. What in the World has he gotten his granddaughter involved with now.
