Arjun sat engrossed in his work, typing away on his laptop in the quiet comfort of his home office. The soft glow of the screen illuminated his focused expression, his eyes scanning the lines of text with intensity.
Suddenly, a knock at the door broke the silence, and he called out, "Come in!" without looking up.
The door creaked open, and Karan stepped inside, his gaze fixed intently on Arjun.
He watched Arjun's every move with an air of suspicion, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene before him.
Karan sauntered over to the chair opposite Arjun's desk, his movements fluid and deliberate. He sat down, crossing his legs and settling in for what seemed like a prolonged stay.
Arjun finally lifted his head from the file, his brow furrowed in a mixture of curiosity and annoyance.
"Are you okay?" he asked Karan, his tone laced with a hint of annoyance.
Karan let out a deep sigh, his eyes narrowing further as he replied.
"I should be asking you that." Arjun's expression turned quizzical, and he raised an eyebrow, his gaze locked onto Karan's.
"I'm not the one who barged into someone's office and started staring like a creep." Arjun said, his voice firm and even, holding Karan's gaze with an unyielding intensity.
Karan chuckled, a low, throaty sound that seemed to hold a hint of amusement, and the tension in the room shifted ever so slightly.
"Arjun, you acted so strange yesterday, and to add more fuel to the fire, Siddhartha told me you've been behaving erratically for a while now." Karan stated, his voice laced with concern and a hint of accusation.
Arjun shrugged it off "I had a business to take care of." but Karan was not convinced.
He raised an eyebrow, his gaze piercing through Arjun's defenses.
"Siddhartha said you've been strange for a week, not just yesterday. Care to explain?"
Arjun's eyes narrowed, his expression darkening.
"Since when do you and Siddhartha start monitoring my every move?" he asked, his tone dripping with annoyance.
Karan held up his hands, palms facing Arjun.
"We're not monitoring you, but Siddhartha did mention that your anger has been escalating these past few days, and I witnessed it firsthand yesterday. You were on edge, Arjun."
Arjun's gaze returned to the file in front of him and picked up a pen, his jaw clenched in silence. Karan pressed on, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Does this have anything to do with the 'she' you mentioned yesterday?"
Arjun stiffened, his grip on the pen in his hand tightening. He looked up at Karan, his eyes blazing with intensity, and for a moment, Karan thought he saw a flicker of Rage.
Karan smirked, sensing he was onto something.
"Well, I find it suspicious that you're so keen on digging up information on a random guy who doesn't seem to be a threat. His family name is clean, no shady dealings, just plain entrepreneurs. What's really going on, Arjun?"
The air was thick with tension as Arjun's gaze locked onto Karan's, his jaw clenched, his teeth grinding together in a futile attempt to contain his emotions.
"Nothing is going on." he gritted, his voice low and menacing. But Karan was undeterred, a sly smile spreading across his face like a slow-moving stain.
"I also did some deeper research after your bizarre behavior yesterday." Karan continued, his eyes glinting with amusement. "And it seems the girl who's got you so riled up is named Meera."
The moment Karan uttered Meera's name, Arjun's demeanor changed. His eyes flashed with anger, and he growled low in his throat, the sound sending a shiver down Karan's spine.
But Karan's shock was quickly replaced with a smirk, and he chuckled, clearly entertained by Arjun's reaction.
"Wow, I never knew a girl could make you this crazy, Arjun." Karan teased, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Arjun's growl deepened, his anger simmering just below the surface like a pot about to boil over.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Arjun lied, struggling to maintain a grip on his emotions. But Karan was relentless, his words piercing Arjun's defenses like a dagger.
"Sure you don't, the Almighty Arjun, brought to his knees by a mere girl!" Karan laughed, his eyes glinting with mirth.
"Not gonna lie, though, she is a beauty."
Arjun's glare was icy, his eyes flashing with warning. But Karan pressed on, undeterred. "Relax, I was mesmerized at first, but-"
But before Karan could finish, Arjun's anger boiled over.
"THE F*CK!" he yelled, his possessiveness building up again like a tidal wave. Karan's eyes widened, he stood up and took a step back, his hands raised in a placating gesture.
"Chill, Arjun." Karan chuckled, a hint of nervousness creeping into his voice.
But Karan's words were far from over. "But you do know, you can't have her." he said, his voice steady and firm, like a challenge thrown down. And with that, Arjun lost all control.
His anger, simmering just below the surface, boiled over like a cauldron, and he struck Karan with a deadly blow, his fist connecting with Karan's face with a sickening crunch.
Karan's nose began to bleed, but he refused to back down, his eyes flashing with defiance.
"I fucking dare you to repeat it." Arjun threatened, his voice low and menacing, his eyes blazing with fury.
But Karan stood his ground, his voice unwavering.
"Arjun, you can't have her!" he repeated, his words echoing through the room like a taunt. And with that, Arjun's anger reached a boiling point. He pulled out his gun, the metal glinting in the light, and pointed it directly at Karan.
"Meera's life is different from yours." Karan continued, his voice steady despite the danger.
"You want to pull her into this dark world? She's too decent for this, Arjun. And I don't think you love her."
Arjun's hand began to shake slightly, his anger warring with his emotions. Karan's words struck a chord, and for a moment, Arjun's grip on the gun faltered.
"It might just be an attraction." Karan pressed on, his voice laced with conviction.
"You can shoot me if you want, just not my heart, please. My Nisha is still waiting for me."
Karan's joke fell flat, but he knew he had to tell Arjun the truth, no matter the cost.
He looked up at Arjun, his eyes locked on his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.
"Listen, Arjun, I'm not advising you as a friend right now, but as a brother." Karan said, his voice laced with concern as he wiped the blood from his nose with a tissue.
"I think this thing you have for this girl, Meera, is just attraction, or maybe something else entirely. But first, let me ask you, do you truly love her?"
Arjun hesitated, his eyes dropping to the floor as he struggled to find the right words.
"I...don't know." he admitted finally, his voice barely above a whisper. "All I know is that I want her, and the sight of other men with her irritates me gravely. I feel this possessiveness, this need to claim her as mine."
Karan nodded thoughtfully, his expression understanding.
"See, Arjun, that's just attraction, or perhaps something else. It's just a feeling, and it will go away with time. My advice is to stay away from her for a while. Ignore her, make it look like she doesn't exist. That should help you clear your head and figure out what you really feel."
Karan's words were laced with a deep wisdom, born from his own experiences and struggles.
He knew that Arjun was at a crossroads, torn between his desire for Meera and his own darkness. And he knew that the only way for Arjun to move forward was to confront his own emotions, to face the truth about his feelings.
Arjun's grip on the gun relaxed, and he let it drop onto the table with a clatter. He sank into his chair, his mind reeling with the possibility that Karan had presented.
What if his feelings for Meera were just a simple attraction? He had never really had a girlfriend before, never allowed himself to get close to anyone.
Maybe this was just a normal crush, a fleeting feeling that would pass with time.
Arjun let out a deep sigh, his eyes fixed on the floor as he considered Karan's words.
"You think so?" he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
Karan nodded, his expression empathetic.
"Arjun, you've never had a girlfriend. You don't even allow girls to touch you during school days. Meera is a beauty, maybe you just have a silly attraction. Try to do something that doesn't involve her, and the feelings will leave."
Arjun's eyes narrowed, his gaze intensifying as he asked.
"And if the feeling doesn't go away?" His voice was low and husky, his eyes shimmering with an unnerving obsession that made Karan's skin crawl.
Karan gulped, taken aback by the intensity of Arjun's emotions. He had never seen his friend like this before, and it scared him. Arjun's usual calm and collected demeanor had given way to a raw, unbridled passion that seemed to consume him whole.
Karan hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He didn't want to fuel Arjun's obsession.
"Don't worry, it will." Karan said finally, trying to sound reassuring.
"Just get your mind off her for a while. Focus on something else, anything else. The feelings will fade, and you'll see things more clearly."
But as Karan spoke, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was merely scratching the surface of Arjun's emotions.
Arjun's gaze drifted back to Karan, his eyes searching for reassurance.
"I guess so." he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.
Karan's face broke into a warm smile, and he clapped Arjun on the back.
"Don't feel down, Arjun. Let's go clubbing tonight, it's been a while. Huh? What do you say?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
The suggestion was just what Arjun needed, a distraction from the turmoil in his mind. He nodded.
"Yeah, sure."

Meera and her sister, Veda, returned from their grocery shopping trip, the bags laden with fresh produce and household essentials.
As they approached the front door, Meera waited expectantly for Veda to unlock it, but Veda hesitated, her eyes flashing with annoyance.
"You could have been nice, Veda." Meera said, her voice tinged with a hint of frustration.
Veda rolled her eyes, her expression unyielding.
"I don't do nice with stalkers." she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Meera's brow furrowed in concern. "How are you so sure he's one?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.
Veda's arms crossed over her chest, her face set in a determined expression.
"I see him everywhere I go." she said, her voice firm and unwavering.
Meera chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"He could just be there by coincidence, Veda. Stop assuming the worst."
As they entered the living room, Meera's face lit up with a warm smile.
"Hey, Papa!" she exclaimed, bending over to kiss her father's cheek.
Her father's face creased into a warm smile, his eyes twinkling with affection.
"There's my princess. And why are you the only one carrying the bags?"
Veda scoffed playfully, her lips pouting in mock indignation.
"Well, you have another princess here too, Papa. Did you forget?"
Her father's laughter filled the room, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Oh, I can never forget my drama queen."
Veda chuckled, her face softening as she kissed her father's cheek, settling beside him on the couch.
Meera, meanwhile, headed to the kitchen to unpack the groceries, the bags rustling as she set them down on the counter.
"But why didn't you help Meera with the bags?" their father asked, his eyes narrowing slightly as he turned to Veda.
Veda's expression turned sulky, her arms crossing over her chest.
"Ugh! I was going to, but one stupid being got me pissed. He touched the bag, so I got irritated and left it. I wanted to go back and change it, but Meera said not to waste time, that she'd take care of it, so yeah, that's what happened."
Meera emerged from the kitchen, a hint of amusement on her face. "He was being nice, Veda."
Veda's scowl deepened. "Stalkers are NOT nice."
Their father's curiosity was piqued. "Who are you both talking about?"
Meera chuckled. "This handsome guy we met at the market today, Papa. He was actually very sweet. But Veda accused him of... stalking."
Their father's eyes turned to Veda, his expression questioning. "Why would you do that?"
Veda's anger flared up again. "Because he is! We attend the same school, Dad! He's always staring at me, and shows up everywhere I am. It's creepy!"
Their father's expression turned stern. "If his habits are what you don't like, confront him instead of accusing him."
Veda sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I did, and he just stared at me like he's possessed or something. He just creeps me out all the time. His family is extremely rich, and he has a lot of cars, but he takes the bus... a bus! And it's always the one I'm in."
For a moment, their father's expression turned alert and worried.
"Stay away from him... when you see him, just leave the place, okay? And I want to meet this guy. Don't worry, you're safe beta"
He kissed Veda's head, and she hugged him tightly. Meera watched the exchange, a concerned expression on her face. She couldn't help but wonder about this guy Veda had talked about.
