Chapter 47: Chapter 46 - The death of me

Raphael POV “Whatever, goodbye Raphael”

As Scott leaves the conference room I call Joseph that picks up straight away “He is leaving now”

“Got it, boss”

I take a deep breath and walk back into my office where I allow myself to walk to the bar and grab a bottle of Whiskey.

I pour some of the liquid into a glass and drink it all.

I sit on my chair looking outside and thinking that I hope my plan works out.

I have two men following him from here, and another two cars following him while he drives, I have already 2 cars waiting near his house and another 2 near his hotel, I don’t know where he will be going.

I have several men spread around New York ready to follow him, all with rented normal cars so they pass by unnoticed.

The plan is for when Scott drives to where Olivia is there’s always someone on his tale, always a different car. They will all be in pair and all in constant contact so they can say where they are and where scoot is heading to. So when one car leaves another one is following but he won’t notice as no one is following him all the way to the end. I hope this works. And obviously, we knew he was going to park far away so my men kept their eyes opened and looked through security cameras from where he came and put a GPS device on his car.

I think he doesn’t know how powerful I am, and he has no clue what I am capable of. If it wasn’t for Olivia’s safety I would’ve just killed him and made his body disappear, he is just a waste of oxygen. But I will have my revenge after I get her back.

I hear someone knocking on the door and a smiley face walks in “Boss, can I get you anything?”

“Cancel everything for today please”

“Sure”

“Someone is coming around with some papers for me to sign, send them to my penthouse”

“Sure boss” – she says offering me a smile and I smile back.

I decide to go home, I can’t focus on this. The drive was quiet. As I get home I walk into my office carrying with me a bottle of vodka.

It’s been several hours and no one has called me back and I start to get anxious. I don’t want to call them back and distract them.

I receive a call from the desk downstairs saying someone wants to see me, I send them up and for my surprise, it is Robert, my guard pretending to be a lawyer.

“Boss”

“How have you been?” – I ask shaking his hand.

“I am good. boss, I have the papers Scott wants you to sign”

“How have you done this?”

“I knew he was planning something boss, so I kept an eye on him”

“But how did he hire you?”

“I’ve been around him for a while now, since the court case, I introduced myself as a lawyer to get close to him”

“Well done you” – I say “he thinks my name is Steve” – he says letting out a laugh.

“Good, I will sign this and the moment we have news about Olivia I want you to rip it all apart”

“I will Boss”

I sign the papers that have a small print saying this is a fake contract and it made me laugh because Scott didn’t even bother to read.

“Do you know where Olivia is?”

“Sorry boss, I haven’t figured that out yet”

My phone starts ringing and I answer on the first ring “Boss”

“Yes”

“He is driving out of New York”

“Get all the men you can in the area”

“I have only 5 more cars boss”

“Fuck, make it happen, Joseph”

“We will boss”

The phone call gets cut and I take a deep breath.

“Boss, is there anything else you need from me?”

“Do you have your GPS location turned on, on your phone?”

“Always boss”

“I need you to try and get to go meet Scott wherever he is and I will track your phone and show up”

“Okay boss”

“Call him now saying you just left and everything is signed”

I see him grabbing his phone and calling Scott.

“Mr. Scott I got the documents signed but there is one page that needs your signature, this contract won’t be valid without it” – he says and I smile “You are a fucking good actor” – I whisper almost in silence and I see Robert smiling.

“I will send you the address for you to come and see me, I will be there in about half-hour”

“I will meet you there then” – he says at the same time his phone beeps with an address.

I copy the address and send it through a message to Joseph “Get everyone to stand by, I am on my way”

“Sure boss” - he replies.

Robert leaves and I check my gun still trapped on the back of my jeans as I grab my car keys and I walk out.

I know I have been drinking but I am still sober and I can’t let anyone else do this but me. I need to find her, I need to look into those beautiful green eyes.

It takes me around 2 hours to get to the destination. I talk to my men through our small earpiece that keeps as all connected.

“I am going in, I need backup, Michael and Stuart follow me”

“Sure boss”

“Joseph keep our men surrounding the place, no-one leaves this place alive, only Scott and Olivia”

“Boss” – I hear Robert “There’s a woman here with him”

“Kill her” – I say I get out of my car and I walk fast and confident to the cabin. I knock on the door and no one answers it so I take my gun out and pointing it I kick the door down to find Robert laying on the floor bleeding.

“Hey mate” – I say getting closer to him but never stop looking around for any movement.

“He has a gun boss”

“Take him out” – I say and I see from the corner of my eye Michael taking him out.

“clear” – I hear Stuart “This way” – I say pointing at the small set of stairs going down.

I go first with Stuart following me and I can hear Lucas’s voice.

“You are going to die you bitch, I am going to kill you in front of him”

“I would like to see you try” – I say while I shoot him in the leg Lucas falls on the floor and my eyes meet Olivia’s, she’s lost weight and looks tired. I can see a scar on her face and a bruise on her arm.

Olivia stands up with tears in her eyes and walks towards Michael that is now behind me.

“You took everything from me” – Scott says “Fuck you” – I can hear Olivia say “Take her to my farm in Calgary”

“Sure boss” – I hear Michael saying and hugging Olivia close to his body.

“I don’t want go” – I can hear her fighting with Michael – “He’s going to kill Raphael”

I look back to see Olivia’s hand covering her mouth to prevent a scream to come out and that’s when I hear a gunshot and I see the panic in her eyes.

I fall on my knees and I can see Olivia running towards me and hugging my body before it hits the floor.

“Don’t you leave me Raphael” – she says crying I start coughing and I struggle to move but I get enough strength to lift my hand and caress and face.

Her beautiful big green eyes, looking down on me. I start to feel cold and I can hear guns everywhere and I can hear Joseph talking to 911.

“Put pressure on the wound Olivia” – he says “I look at her, my angel and I smile, she is safe now. My angel is safe” – I think to myself and with that I allow the darkness to consume me.

I knew she would be the death of me.
