âDonât you know me by now? Iâm very stubborn, and besides, I have nothing to lose. Worst case scenario, Iâll just go abroad and volunteer there.â
Yiyoung was laughing at him as she spoke, but it didnât sound like a joke at all. If she really did that, Muyeolâs public image would be affected negatively, and then he wouldnât be able to secure votes from those conversative employees at the upcoming meeting.
Not being able to get their votes didnât matter much; he would have a second chance. However, Muyeol didnât even want to imagine breaking up with Yiyoung on such bad terms. He knew he wouldnât be able to see her again then, which meant that he would be lost.
He raised his arms in surrender. âYouâre smart and manipulative.â
âYou already know me. I always target one person when I fight.â
Muyeol stared at Yiyoung, heart racing from the expectations.
âThe way I love someone is also the same. I decided to only love you in my life, so I will continue to love you,â Yiyoung added.
A hot lump formed in Muyeolâs throat, suddenly overcome with emotions. He opened his mouth to say something to her, but his voice wavered, âYouâre crazy.â
Yiyoung laughed and gave him a sunny smile. âYeah. Iâll be the crazy b**ch around here.â
Muyeol didnât reply. He knew nothing would change even if he said something. He resumed eating. When he ate a spoonful of rice, he was shocked to find how good it tasted. Heâd never tasted rice this good before.

The next day, Yiyoung left the house with her remaining medicines, along with the gifts sheâd bought from Istanbul. She was going to meet Jaehee.
âHere, here!â Yiyoung lifted her hand the moment she spotted Jaehee.
Jaehee quickly came over and sat down opposite Yiyoung. And the moment she sat down, she asked in shock, âWhat happened? You look so pretty today!â
Yiyoung laughed. âBecause Iâm doing well.â
Jaehee laughed with her. âThatâs so good. I thought you would lose a lot of weight. Thereâs nothing for you to do these days, after all.â
âI did, in the beginning, but I got used to not working,â Yiyoung said, âLetâs order first.â
âOkay.â
The two chose the items from the menu and placed their order. They talked while they ate, and once they were done, they went to a dessert cafe.
The coffee and cake were placed on their table as the two continued to talk.
âI didnât ask you because your face looked great, but I think I still need to check up on you,â Jaehee said, âHow are you feeling? Is there any difference in your panic disorder?â
âIâm healthy now, and the disorder has gotten much better.â
âThatâs good to hear. I was worried you would quit like Dr. Kang.â
âQuit? Dr. Kang did?â
Jaehee sipped some water. âDid I not tell you?â
âYou didnât.â
âSorry, sorry. I must have forgotten. I thought I did.â âSorry, sorry. I mustâve forgotten. I thought I did.â
âItâs okay. You were probably very busy. But why did he quit all of sudden?â
âI think his trauma was too much for him to handle. He put in his resignation a week ago, and it was approved. Professor Jung tried to convince Dr. Jang, but it didnât work.â
âOh noâ¦â
âI talked to Dr. Kang, too, but he said he couldnât continue because he felt betrayed.â
Though Dr. Kangâs problem was betrayal rather than fear, Yiyoung could understand him. He probably couldnât trust his patients anymore; the relationship of a doctor and a patient was based on their faith in each other.
âIf I were involved in the incident, I canât imagine myself treating any other patient either. This isnât comparable to any physical violence or verbal abuse. So I couldnât convince him. I felt bad for him because he looked so skinny, and his eyes looked different,â Jaehee continued.
Yiyoung just sat and listened.
