Muyeol stepped in between them. âStop it now. Unless you want to get embarrassed in front of those people you go to the social club with.â
âIt would be you who would get embarrassed. As the person renowned for the increase in share price and reputed as the next CEO, you have more to lose than me if you get exposed as an immoral person.â Mr. Cha laughed loudly before turning to Yiyoung. âDonât you agree with me, Mrs. Yoon Yiyoung?â
Yiyoung simply smiled at him. So Mr. Cha pretended to be gracious and said, âSo, do you like your current lifestyle compared to when you used to work in the ER? When else would you ever get to travel like this without worrying about money, right? Are you going to have a child, too? My first son is good for nothing, and my other son is a b**tard. The bloodline would get all dirty⦠Wouldnât hemodialysis be necessary? Do you think you could do that yourself?â
As Mr. Cha kept laughing and calling Muyeol a b**tard, Yiyoung couldnât restrain herself anymore. So she warmly said, âI canât believe you are talking about morality when youâre the one calling him a b**tard. I guess you canât see whatâs happening because you donât seem to care about what youâre actually saying. You must have a strong gut, if youâre able to stomach saying things like this.â
âWhat did you just say?â Mr. Cha was no longer laughing. He revealed his true face: an ignoble, brutal, and mean appearance.
Yiyoung smiled instead of responding. Sheâd immediately understood that Mr. Cha was using the chance to embarrass Muyeol in front of her. She quickly contemplated what she should do in such a situation.
âI didnât pay attention to you because you were nothing, but even you can bite people, huh?â Mr. Cha seethed, âWhat other skills do you have? How dare you dream to be a part of my family? Youâre an orphan, and your job isnât good either. Do you want to be Cinderella or something? Is this the only way for you to change your status?â
Muyeol couldnât keep his cool any longer. So far, no matter what Mr. Cha did to him, Muyeol had never been shaken. But this time, his hand moved before he could even think.
However, Yiyoung quickly pulled Muyeolâs hand into a firm grip before addressing Mr. Cha in a friendly manner, âOne side of your mouth and one of your eyes is lower than the other. Thatâs not a good sign.â
âWhat?â
âWhen you were approaching me, I noticed that the movement of your fingers was different when you were moving toward the left compared with when you were moving toward the right. Have you experienced any dizziness, or had a hard time speaking clearly?â
âWhat are you even talking about right now?â
âMr. Cha, itâs not right for you to travel right now.â
âWhat did you just say?â
âYou need to go to a hospital and get yourself examined. It seems like youâre experiencing symptoms of cerebral infarction. When it hits the left side of your brain, the right side of your body will become paralyzed, and youâll suffer from language, sensory, and intellectual impairment. When it hits the right side, your left side will become paralyzed, and youâll suffer from impairment in depth perception, along with aphasia.â
Startled by Yiyoungâs unexpected advice, Mr. Cha was at a loss on what to do. Heâd been expecting her to argue with him, or act like she was emotionally hurt, or do anything that would end up making people hate her. But there she was, diagnosing him instead.
âItâs always best to prevent the disease than try curing it later,â Yiyoung continued, âIf you really canât cancel the trip, then please donât drink or smoke. You need to reduce the amount of sodium in your diet, starting now. You canât exercise too much either. Instead, you should walk slowly, as if youâre walking for leisure.â
Muyeol stared at Yiyoung, able to sense that inner strength of hers which no one could handle. Except, Yiyoung didnât use this strength to crush anyone.
